- Today we review the World Famous Star Tavern pizza. We also have some footage from our very first subscriber meetup, and do a real quick photoshoot in the studio. Thanks for stopping by. Star Tavern is the bomb! You can eat a whole thin crispy crust pizza. That is no where as crowded as it gets. I’ve been there several times where you have wait at least a half hour! That’s a light day 😊

I've been going to Star Tavern for around 30 years,best pizza in Jersey. Also their Buffalo wings are fabulous. I saw my favorite server back there in the black T-shirt.

Star Tavern! Another great spot remembered from my north Jersey days. But this isn't the building I remember. They must have rebuilt along the way. Good to see they're still there. Ann's Clam Bar and Pal's Cabin, both in the Oranges, are unfortunately gone.
As for knife and fork pizza ... When you order a veggie pizza with a whole salad on it (like your half), all those veggies have water in them, which takes away the rigidity of the crust, so you've GOT to eat it with a knife and fork. Daijah, who's half was plain, could eat hers like you're supposed to eat pizza.
Those were places where if you had a warrant you'd stay faaaaarrr away lol
Now I'm hungry and homesick!!

Star Tavern is good for plain slice. Also, get a surprise slice of pizza from Pizza Center on Main St. in Orange. There pretty good also.

WOW that pizza look so good. I'm from NY and I miss the good pizza. I can't find really good pizza here in AZ unless you want deep dish then you go to Lou Malnati's.

The thing about eating their pizza is that once it comes to the table, you have to constrain yourself, and let it sit for 5 minutes to let it cool off. The toppings set up better, too.
I think I may have to revisit Tavern Pizza. So Good!

I love Star, been going there since i was a kid.....but that thin crust is not a pie that you can do an "everything" on it, it's like soup then. The best way to do a Star pie is plain, or maybe one topping.

I’m going to give their pizza another try! I went there years ago on somebody’s suggestion and I was not impressed! It seemed like it was meant to be pizza that complemented beer! But alas I will be fair and try it again! 😅

Man, that woman absorbed the plain pizza ! LOL! You only had one slice of the other. Didnt you like it? You usually eat a lot. I think there was too much stuff on it, thats why you need a knife and fork. Did you say Ray's in the Village is gone ??? What happened? They couldnt have gone out of business. That place was always packed and always had a line all the way into the sidewalk; even in the snow.

That is what those of us with lifelong experience in the pizza industry call “pizza soup.” Order with 1-2 toppings only, otherwise bring a spoon. Probably tastes wonderful, however, not pizza 🍕. S-s-s-sorry.👎

PEACE/ ISLAM/SHALAWAM/ HOTEP. IK I RECOGNIZED THAT CORNER! YO LYONS AVE AND BERGEN ST. I USED TO LIVE ON HANSBURY OFF OF BERGEN! That used to be a passage spot back in the day though.
