I’ve tried so many places around Newark because of Matt , love him and his consistency and enthusiasm ! Will definitely try this place because I’ve been driving to BonChon Korean fried chicken in Union , but this place is a few blocks from me. Btw the smacking let’s me know it’s real! How the heck do people come on to a FOOD review channel and get annoyed by how someone is Eating and tell a person how to enjoy their food ?? It’s really rude like Leave him alone, Forreal 🙄
As a Newarkite born and raised I must say you are showing me so many great spots to enjoy great food in Newark. 😊 I go to try Jersey Mike's first but this Korean Fried Chicken next. 🎉 Nice crunch on that chicken. Sounds so tasty. Fries should come with that.
My mom use to shop on Mulberry I think. It was a lot kosher foods to be had. I remember the fruits n veggies outside the stores. We rode the 21 Orange downtown, don't know if we transfered.
Mad For Chicken/Chicken Jazz was the first Korean Fried Chicken in Ktown, Manhattan, probably over 15 years ago now. It was on top of a pizza spot on 5th Avenue, kinda had speak easy vibes. The original spot got torn down, but they are everywhere now. There’s so many KFC restaurants now, but they still my fav overall (spicy & soy garlic).
@@MattDV 👍🏽 I just remembered their original name was: Turntable…. Bourdain featured it on one of his earlier shows in the mid 00s, it was a late night spot you’d go to drink that just happened to have amazing KFC & other Korean bar type food. Sad it’s gone, but nothing in NY last forever
Those really do look great. They need a little flag for the hot side. My local place sprinkles a few scallions on the hot side and sesame seeds on the mild.
Hi COCO. I only went there for the Chicken. I do have a little of the menu in the video though. Maybe you can get a glimpse there. Thanks for supporting the channel.
Hey Matt ... That place looks pretty good. I'll try it. Is the name of this place "Korean Fried Chicken"? Is that in the space where Dinosaur Barbecue used to be? Right next to Prudential Center? Does that mean that Dinosaur didn't make it? Too bad ... they were pretty good too. They were a chain based in New York state. But what does upstate New York know about barbecue anyway?
@@MattDV I just saw it now it was closed down by Raz Baraka the Mayor of Newark. There is a sign on the door.. I don't know what happened but the owner is so nice. I feel bad 😢 They really do make great honey bbq wings.
So the name of the restaurant is"Korean Fried Chicken" and it's location is market and mulberry street? It would have been helpful to show the outside of the restaurant.
You know I saw that it was actually called Mad For Chicken somewhere. I actually thought it was two different restaurant when I stood in front. Thanks @kJig5
Gloria No!! lol Gloria I walk it off. I try to get three miles a day in at the park. Ok I'm going to be honest. I missed a few days but time to get back at it. LOL #EatResponsively I appreciate you Gloria.

Yes. I was planning to mentioning that in the video then attention deficit disorder kicked in.
I thought that was where Dino used to be.
@@Willa4420 Yes it is.
I went downtown and noticed EVERYTHING is different!! I never got to try the restaurant lol

I'm def going back for more. Thank You.
I think the key is there is potato starch in the coating.
Korean chicken is good they use cornstarch an other ingredient.
YES.... Its the crunch for me.

I LOVE CHICKEN WINGS TOO MY FRIEND
My mom use to shop on Mulberry I think. It was a lot kosher foods to be had. I remember the fruits n veggies outside the stores. We rode the 21 Orange downtown, don't know if we transfered.
Yes Mulberry St. Great memories there. Food, meats, and fresh roasted peanuts smell in the air. I remember.

It's Mad For Chicken, Korean Friend Chicken. Then front of the Restaurant is in the video at the beginning.
