Just got a veiled chameleon the store said “juvenile”. I am not sure how to identify about how old it is or what gender it is. It seems to be female. I would like to know how old it is not to know when it would lay eggs to start preparing. Any advice?
I'd watch this video right away: ua-cam.com/video/IC9YALNYrqQ/v-deo.html and then here is my video on egg laying: ua-cam.com/video/Dy6sIPvNGUw/v-deo.html. And you're always welcome to book a video call with me: www.neptunethechameleon.com/book-a-call
My 3 year old veiled chameleon died from gout because I changed her daily feeder from crickets to dubia roaches. Vet said feeding dubia as main feeder are too high in protein causing high uric acid levels giving chameleon. I will never feed dubia as main feeder because of the high risk of gout.
I have a question when do i start feeding a hatchling panther chameleon after it hatches. Also do I give supplements to a hatchling panther chameleon and if so, then how often or when do I start giving them supplements. Also do I mist the cage twice a day? Sorry for so many questions i tried to do research and found no videos to help me.
Tomorrow i'm getting my first chameleon. I was kinds nervious to buy it at first, but then i found your channel and began learning about them. Ant then i decided "Ah, what the hell, I'm getting one of those guys." All of your videos have been really helpful and informative. I just have one question. Can they eat earthworms?
What kind of chameleon are you getting? Do not feed them earthworms. Only feed them the bugs that are discussed in this video. You're welcome to check out my other video on what not to feed to a chameleon: ua-cam.com/video/lkQU2Ue3qbw/v-deo.html

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some tips or if I have anything wrong you could correct me? Just want to make sure I can be the best chameleon mom I can! I have all my info down below! Age - about 3 months old I believe, she’s a female. Handling - maybe once every few months or if needed, I do put her back immediately if she shows signs of stress. Feeding - small dubia roaches and crickets. used to use meal worms as a snack. Thinking of adding BSFL to her diet. Supplements - ReptiCalcium without D3 every feeding and reptivite for vitamins 2 times a month. Watering - As of right now her hydration method is being misted, I spray 2 times a day once in the morning and once before lights off. Cage Info: Cage Type - Zoomed Reptibreeze XL 24x24x48 Lighting - for UVB I use the 6% Arcadia Forest and for the heat bulb (right now) I use DaylightBlue 60w. I have a new heat bulb that one is the zoomed repti basking spot lamp. I upped the wattage to 70 have not used yet. Temperature - her basking spot is roughly 75-80 degrees f. Humidity - stays at 30-40% during the day and 70-80% at night. Plants - (all live) golden pothos, wandering jew, umbrella plant, jasmine, spider plant, and corn plant. Placement - right now (it’s only temporary) she is in one of our spare bedrooms next to our other chameleon with a divider on the floor.
Hello! I'm happy to help and have some follow-up questions. What species of chameleon do you have? Does your Reptivite have D3 in it? Is your UVB bulb a T5 or T8? Is her enclosure on the floor?
I just got my chameleon a few days ago, and I am really concerned about anything strange. In the first two nights she slept well. But on the third day she kept moving all night. Is it normal for a chameleon?
@@NeptunetheChameleon I had a little light coming from the window, I thought it might be a problem so I fixed it, so she can be in total darkness Update: Today I blocked every possible light, and she is sleeping normally. Thank you
I'm about to get a chameleon. But the one thing I'm worried about is keeping up with the bugs. How many should I buy at a time. I don't want to buy to little and or buy to many where I can't keep up with it. I plan on getting them Dubia roaches, and a vieled chameleon. Like should I get 100 roaches at once then just keep buying more every 10 days after feeding 10 - 15 bugs to them? Or should I get more than that at once
@@bluestargamer2796 I usually buy a few hundred roaches because it’s cheaper to buy more at a time and roaches live a long time. And then I’ll buy around 50 of a few different worms so I’m feeding a variety of bugs. But the worms don’t last as long as the roaches.
My 3month Panther hasn’t eaten in 2-3 days. The Dubia roaches are pretty visible. I don’t understand why he’s not eating them. I don’t wanna do crickets because they hide and can never be found again. They’re so annoying.. I dmd you on Instagram

LOL at Neptune in the back slowly getting more and more cheesed off by the camera
You’d think he’d be used to it by now 😂
thanks that helped a lot😊. but can i feed my cham grasshoppers?
Yup! Just make sure they’re the appropriate size

Hey I want to know if English ivy is a good plant for my veiled chameleon?
I haven't used any ivy in my enclosures before but you can certainly see if other people have on chameleonforums.com.

I mean she is doing it while she sleeps.
No that’s not normal. Do you have her enclosure lights on or lights on in the room she is in? Chameleons need total darkness at night.

Why is my veiled chameleon eating all of her plants?? She has plenty of bugs 😅 she ate 2 plants working on her 3rd.

You could keep offering the BSFL and add in the occasional wax worm, superworm, wax moth, black soldier fly, etc.
I need to find a bug breeder
Here are two I recommend: joshsfrogs.com/a/neptunethechameleon/list/bugs & dubiaroaches.com/6482251
