How do you get hired? At local 909 you get a list of contractors and told give them a call. Very few offer help. Most say not hiring and you don't even start at apprentice 1 stage. Most start you off at stocker. I hear up in washington you get hired if you pass a pre screen exam and the union finds you work.
The classes are good.... The only thing I have a problem with is we seat in class for 3 days before we can actually work in the shop...... If I have to leave work for class just to seat on my ass for a week an lose a paycheck for it...... It's stupid They NEED to start doing the classes 3 days a week.. So u only have to lose a days pay... Classes should be Thursday thru Saturday.... That way we have one day in class seating on r ass an 2 days in shop working

Most locals are like that. Try Iron worker its the same process but its easier to get in and you don't need to related to get in unlike the carpenters. IW companies are always looking for workers so get in. Plus if work is slow they actually try to find you work. Try the ibew if you want more money and its just a test to get in.

YOU COULD THEN CREATE AN LLC FOR YOURSELF.. PAY YOURSELF TO OPERATE IT.. WE'RE ALL SERVISE PRIVIDER..
