A person who would attack this judge who was brutally beaten, much worse for what his intent was, is as cowardly as the attacker himself. If this man has a mental issue has nothing to do with what the justice system does as he is a danger to his community. It is not up to our justice system to fix his mental illness it is up to his family and friends. If they are unable to do anything about his issues then it is left to the justice system to deal with it in protecting the community.

I hate to say it but now you see why in certain countries they don't even go there. The minute when you go into a courtroom you're not even allowed to sit out in the open with everybody else. They bring you into the courtroom and they sit you in a cage. Either a barred cage or a see-through glass cage. There's a reason for that. Once they lock you in, there's very little chance that you're going to be able to jump out and do anything of the sort. I used to think that those types of courtroom layouts were cruel. But after what I just saw that happened to her I've completely changed my opinion 🤐

You not being able to see any doesn't mean they're not there. I would say the fact his hands are together the entire time indicates he has a pair of cuffs on, likely under the shirt. I'd also wager he has a waist restraint bolted to the floor.
