Thank you for sharing. I will follow your lead and try some of your suggestions. Charlie and the garden gnomes are cute. That mealy blue sage looks like a winner. Best wishes.
Hello my friend! I hope you are well. That mealy blue sage will do you right and spreads fairly readily. Before you know it, you’ll have mounds and mounds of blue spires. Give it a trim if it gets too leggy. CTG did a very helpful segment on this: ua-cam.com/video/uEZCxFPpxBg/v-deo.htmlsi=I5zqYcuk258UhGdA
@@theplantninja-texasgardener I sowed the seeds on 25 Feb. They've sprouted and now that it's warmer, they'll speed up. Also planted some Kajari and other melons. Something is eating A LOT of my seedlings. Bok Choy wiped out in one night. Grrr.
LOVED the tour! You have everything laid out so beautifully and it’s only going to get better from here. Thanks for sharing and stay blessed fam! -Calvin
Everything is looking great!! Mine are still dormant! I guess they got all the weather I love all you have done. Charlie is so cute! OMG Kids helping in the yard are the best! It's good for their health plus is fun! Thumbs up for your little gardener, we need more! ♥
Hi Martha! Thanks for stopping by to check things out and for the kind words💗. The upcoming weeks will be so exciting as everything starts to come out of dormancy. I’ll be tuned in to see what’s new in your garden. I know you put some trees in 🤞
That Agave was the star of the show while everything is still getting going. That is my goal, to incorporate agaves, palms, and one day succulents. Your garden is calling for russian sage and fall aster, gotta add some purple.
Awww Nat, I didn't know that all the Bluebonnets were murdered 😢, was hoping for a few survivors! The garden looks amazing already, lot's going on! Love you, mom
That is beautiful! I can't find the autumn sage right now. Haven't given up. Can't wait to find at least 5 of them. Thanks for the suggestion. Ms Granger
Ms Granger!! Good to see your name pop up here! You’ll probably only find these at a small local nursery versus the big box stores. Think Grizzly’s in Nolanville or 93 Landscape in Temple. Sometimes they are labeled by their botanical name, salvia greggii. Best wishes on your sage hunt😊
My tangerine crossvine was able to attach to my brick wall after its second year but it did require some support its first year. Hopefully yours turns out well!
I bet your crossvine is stunning! I’ve been seeing pictures of blooming mature crossvines over the last week on my social media feeds, and they’re so lovely😊 Have you had any ant issues? Some have mentioned that being a concern.
Hello from Central Texas, Zone 8a. My natives are sleepy heads, compared to yours! 😉 My Mealy Blue Sage is about 4” and my Autumn Sage’s are doing best at around 10” Like you mentioned, they are my favorites too for being reliable. 😊 Thank you for sharing ! I am looking forward to seeing your garden grow again this year.
Hello my fellow central Texan and garden UA-cam pal😉 You can’t go wrong with a sage in hot dry areas right?! It’s amazing how much these natives can change in just one week!
I just got back from Texas for the first time ever. I must say Texas has beautiful flowers all along the side of the road. We drove from central Florida. Where did you order your Bluebonnet seeds. I literally googled Texas roadside flowers - I found a nice list 🙏🏼 your flowers are so beautiful.
Thanks for dropping in my beautiful fellow gardener! Believe it or not Texas Department of Transportation sows all of those beautiful wildflowers annually. I typically order my wildflowers from here 👉seedsource.com/native-texas-mix/. We don’t get as much rain as you do in Florida, and bluebonnets thrive in rocky soil. So ensure you sow in very well draining soil(think adding lots of gritty material). I’m learning a lot about native plants and so I found this for you as well. 👉floridanativewildflowers.com
Greetings my fellow gardener! I do almost nothing for my yucca. I don’t fertilize or even water it. Some yuccas have to reach a certain age before they flower, sometimes it’s a lack of sunlight, or sometimes we overdue fertilizer. I found this article from one of my trusted sources: www.centraltexasgardener.org/resource/yucca-flowers/
Ooh thank you my friend!! I’ve done nothing to it because that’s what I’ve heard as well maybe she’s just still young. As a matter of fact none of my neighbors that flowered last year are flowering yet so maybe I’m jumping the gun lol. Thank you so much for the resource! I love your channel and your garden!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! Thanks for taking time to watch😊 I know whale’s tongue agave can get as big as 5ft in height and spread. This one isn’t in full sun very long during the day and may not get as large. I’m guessing it’ll max out at 3-4ft. Now that I say that I’m sure it’ll prove me wrong 😂
@@theplantninja-texasgardenerIt’s going to look great! I sowed a seed mix of different agaves last year and they’re growing well inside on my windowsill - no idea what I’ve got, so fingers crossed there’s a whale tongue in there! Harder to grow here in chilly Wales though. Anyways, I’ve just subscribed and look forward to seeing your garden and your channel develop. I have a gardening channel too that you might like - check it out!
I really appreciate the time you took to write the plant names on the screen!!
I appreciate you noticing 😊 Hope it was helpful and I didn’t misspell anything 😝
I just found your channel and love your garden! I am a Texas gardener as well.
Howdy fellow Texan! Thank-you! I’m always excited to get other Texans here because they can share what’s been working well for them.🙌

Thanks for watching girls!
I enjoyed that. I'm in the Panhandle and am several weeks behind you. It's fun to see how many of your things are off and growing.
Thanks for watching! Praying for the fires there. Hope you and yours are safe💗
Love the Autumn Sages, mine do well in cold and very hot weather, they always survive and the flowers are lovely. Thanks for sharing your garden 😊
Thank-you! I just found a purple salvia greggii called “mirage”! I bought three😍
Beautiful! Blackfoot daisies just make me smile. It's like they're singing hello as you walk by. And... NOOOO... the bluebonnets??? I'm crying.
Thanks Jean! Tears were shed over those bluebonnets. When are you sowing your cucumbers and pole bean seeds?

Very Nice set up you have...love the rain tank. I water all of my house plants with rain water
Thank-you! Putting a pump on my rain tank has been a game changer for me😊
I have the white autumn sage too… smells good and definitely withstands the freeze and the heat
It’s hard to beat an evergreen, flowering, sun/heat-tolerant plant!
Just came across your channel. I enjoyed the tour and getting to see your garden.

What’s going on Luis! I will take those marching orders and get some Russian sage. You’ve got such a great eye for landscape🙌
First video I’m watching of you. So excited to see your future videos.
Thanks! So glad you’re here😊
Oh wow those spartan juniper look huge
I planted some 2 years ago and last fall
Can't wait for them to fill in
I’m going to get some smaller ones to fill the gap. They’ve done really well😊
Thank you
You’re most welcome!

@@theplantninja-texasgardener No issues with fire ants yet other than the normal mounds I get every year but not on the plant.
What in the world kind of landscape company in TX doesn't know what a bluebonnet is? I would have been so mad!!!
Right?! I mean they hadn’t flowered yet so maybe that’s why but still💔
