Man, i wish i had a friend in real live who is just as dedicated and enthousiastic as you are to play ANNO 1800 with, i love this game so much man. And u’r awesome
Thank you so much for this playthrough. I am so late to the party but I honestly love watching you play. Seeing you work the Docklands made it so much easier for me to start on that overwhelming journey and understand what the ... I am doing haha! Seeing you work in Embessa makes me wanna buy the DLC also so might do that soon!
Heya! I heard that the reefer is much more faster when you use it between regions (for example old world- new world). So that's why it's much more expensive to maintain. EDIT: i've just seen the explaination now..oops!
Some name suggestions (with the help of google translate) Fertile = Rutuba (Swahili) or Kuvundile (Zulu) World of Beauty = Izwe lobuhle (Zulu) Green lands = Lahan héjo (Sudanese) Land of the free = Tanah bébas (Sudanese) Just giving you some inspiration, lovely anno videos btw. A true gem on the internet.
I‘m at 20:38 now. So I don’t know if you figured it out later on but in Enbesa it’s a lot easier to build the canals in the night because you can see better how much land will be wet. Maybe it could help. Other than that: Great episode as always!
For the coal ships, there isn't much of a point to fill it up so much. Just look when it normally arrived and if it offloads only one and a half slots, only loading it up with 2 or 3 slots. That way it will turn back more often to move the gas, if you expand and need more you can always add another slot of coal.
@@WhatDarrenPlays Well, Alternatively you could just not have it wait and change the last slot to only convey gas. That way it might move the coal back and forth, but at least it will consistently move the gas back and you don't have to dump the coal.
so is it possible the idea of the Reefer relies on you centralising your trade routes to go from one island either side, and then throw things out from there? make a 'capital' in each area, and ship everything in each region to there, then use your reefer fleet to go and pick everything up. Then you do one trade route to each region picking up everything, have your reefers going around each port, and then a set of trade routes in each area. going back and forth it'd be easier to keep track of things. it's one massive trade route supplied by several smaller ones. it'd save on logistics between the regions. but more efficient? I'd argue no unless you do have a central capital isle per region, and even then you don't really do that in this game.
Hi Daren! I have been following up your channel for the past two years and picked up Anno 1800 last weekend. But there are many mechanics that I do not know of in the game. Are there and if not, can you make a complication tutorial video with all the tips and tricks you have learned that you might find useful for newcomers and veteran players alike? Thanks! Keep up the great work! @RepublicOfLetsPlay
Question: I was wondering why you have your ‘Docklands’ on one part of your docks and no the entire dock? Wouldn’t it be a better idea to speed it across the available docks?
You are really bad at math, you could space the canals 1 further out. ;-) At least sometimes. I bright harvested it all in Enbesa. You can place the farms buildings on dry soil and the pens on irrigated soil annd use Silos to double the output.
@@WhatDarrenPlays Another example: ua-cam.com/video/_fLBiH9L8_w/v-deo.html . The left canal could be moved one further to the left. Another thing, if you place a field onto dry soil it still does count to the maximum amount of fields of a farm. You have to build extra fields to compensate the dry soil ones. Sorry for the nitpicking. I recommend to build tractors there later. you can fix it then.
Don't mean to be a tease ... but Episode 13 (this Thursday), is THE episode to watch :)

You can wrap around the buildings with the road, place it on dry land on the other side of the road, to have a free side to connect with farms

Just a bit micro intense though, because if you add another heater or change anything then you’d have to watch and see how the route performs

Northern Lights is a nice nod to the canna-culture while also being a pretty legit ship name

A canal reaches 4 tiles out, so a spacing of 8 tiles between canals is correct I thought?
