    Hi Natasha.
    It must have been extremely hard exploring with your team, Fornethy House.
    I have to say, watching this video for the first time struck me not having a nice feeling about the place.. Every wall, every door, every window tells a very sad, distressing stories of very real human beings ~ children. It's hard to take in the abuse that took place in that massive building all those years ago. Sadly not the only place either.
    Thank goodness,places like these have been shut down.There is never an excuse for any forms of abuse to take place anywhere.
    Thankyou for this video that highlighted such dreadful times for a lot of children.
    Whilst the horrible memories remain, I'm hoping the children @ Fornethy House are in a much better place now.

      It truly was hard. I personally wasn’t even fully aware of the full extent of what went on in there until finding out on the drive home, i googled it As we couldn’t believe what we saw in there.. i wondered what the script was with this place so I put my brave pants on as Part of me didn’t want to hear it. As my heart can’t take the pain. And for personal reasons.. to then find out by the research online and then to hear the women’s stories i was heartbroken. Infact, i was driving home at 4am and i just cried. It killed me On the inside!! The place screams heartache.. you can feel it walking through the corridors. You can feel it just walking the Forrest path up to it. I’ve been to thousands of buildings but nothing like this one. . It was very hard for me to explore this one. But I’m glad I did. Look at the amazing thing it’s done for these survivors❤️

      I'm 40 and only recently found this out.
      I hope they all get the justice they deserve and the Scottish Govt include Fornethy House survivors in the process.

      We will never know. Someone mentioned it being a dry room for clothes. The fact there was children’s blinds inside it made us feel uneasy. A few girls were locked in parts of the building so doesn’t suprise me if they were locked in there.. we will never truly know. Thank you for watching all the way from the USA 🇺🇸❤

    I am here as I have heard a lot about this place on UKC. Its a shame that what went on here but it's not the buildings fault, it's those who used it for their evil purposes who are the monsters.

      I’m sure it’s the 2 sisters who built or first ever owned the house.

    • @Toast2Berserker
      @Toast2Berserker 5 місяців тому +1

      They were the sisters who owned the house. When they passed it was left to the area as a place to do good for children. They wanted it to be a thing of good and dark, twisted people used it for evil. My heart goes out to all the women who survived that place. Been following this since David Scott brought it to the Column and the stories I've heard brings tears to my eyes. Keep fighting ladies. You have our support.

    Absolutely horrendous when I seen that cage, it couldn’t have been used for food because the radiators were caged too, which mean 1 thing. So children couldn’t burn themselves. Shame on you Glasgow council for knowing what some of the underprivileged children had to endowed in this evil place. Why hasn’t anyone been brought to justice for what happened to some of the children that sexually abused, drugged and taken in the night to the perpetrators. I was in a convent in South Africa and it had a cage like that but was used for luggage then, not saying it wasn’t used for the same as this many years before. It’s really hot home to me watching this. I watched a blog with Alex from spartan on Monday and 3 ladies spoke out and it was so sad that they still suffer to this day from the evil from within these walls, I hope they get justice, this could’ve been a beautiful place but no the staff made it evil and the councils knew about it. 🤬

    • @ExploringWithNatasha
      @ExploringWithNatasha  4 місяці тому

      It’s horrific what the ladies went through. I spoke to a few of the survivors and it would bring you to your knees hearing their stories, I done a news interview with UK column news. Then 2 days later the government surprisingly decide to accept the ladies for redress scheme.. but they will still want justice I believe! Not just hush money.. It’s so so sad! This video has been sent to a lot of people to help their case. It’s Such a shame. No child deserves what they went through!

    Ladies, remember the long walks and the witches leg? We now know who the witches were. The crows in the traps, most dead with gouged eyes but some were flapping, trying to get out. Silky slimy porridge. boak. The dinner ladies were lovely but not allowed to speak to us. Who, I wonder, was the young lassie who used to work there? I think it was her 1st job from school. Even she was roaring and greetin' in the middle of the dining hall. Shame on you councils. We were exited to go on holiday, the first time anyway, but did we get one? Did we aye?
    Sorry, i'm pure raging by the way.

      This is so sad to read. Hearing all the stories of the survivors of this place has shocked me to the core. I really hope you all get the justice you ladies deserve. I Really do. it seems the video has in fact helped a lot of the survivors along with mixed emotions. I'm glad it has, It seems it has also answered a lot of questions as well.. I pray for you all x

    GIVE IT BACK TO US (The woman of Glasgow). It's a dump but we can use it and turn it into a loving holiday let for us and our families. Turn it into a museum, rewrite the dreadful history and abuse. Maybe, probably, cry, but learn to laugh as we show you how we should have been treated on a so called "holiday". I'm sure go fund me and oor ain folk would donate.

      Thanks for the video but I'm angry! and sad but more angry. Years and years of trauma, eating disorders. That artwork was by us weans. It needs framed and protected. I (and others) had to get down on my knees on the gravel at the front of the building to pull out the weeds while they watched with folded arms.
