    I incorrectly referred to the front overhang as “unsprung mass” - that area is not unsprung. I don’t know why I said that term. Apologies for the confusion.

    glad to see people finally acknowledge and appreciate what electric vehicles enable. superior performance at more accessible prices.

      Don’t forget sporadic combustion, always a bonus.

    It’s rare that a manufacture keeps a relatively comfy suspension setup, exterior and seats etc and lots of power. I love it.

    Was looking to get a single motor Ultra but hesitating because I thought it was a bit pricey, especially with recent heavy discounts on other brands. Now you've got me wanting the twin motor. Damn yooooou!

    Never thought it would be a Volvo to bring out your inner bogun debating a donut lol😂
    Just noticed the steering wheel…last time is saw one like this was the squeel fitted to the old Austin Allegro…progress huh 😳
    And the only other vehicle is seen the ‘fuel’ gauge move during acceleration was my old Range Rover…impressive lol

    Great review. The ride and handling sounds impressive. I wonder if it had a local tune. Also, seemed to reach it's top speed before completing the qtr mile.

    Would love to see a side by side of it versus the new model 3 performance!

    No rear arm rest with cup holders or rear air vents. Smart Brabus has the same power train with the above-mentioned features and is $10k less drive away.

    Cannot stand people who quote EVs are too fast. How fast you go is dominated by how much and how fast you put your foot on the accelerator, like it always has been. If you don't know this and don't know how to control this, you really shouldn't have your licence.
    Also completely agree with the video reciew, it would be awesome to have a full performance version :)

      Unfortunately, life doesn't work like that. People with not much experience driving super-fast cars is always going to end badly for some. I'm sure you've drank too much at a party at least once in your life, or smoked a cigarette or done something that, in hindsight, wasn't the smartest thing to do.
      The point I was trying to make is that this car (like other similar EVs) is extremely quick yet unassuming. And it's relatively affordable, so it's available/accessible to a vast buying audience. Unlike a supercar.
      An example of this, I remember giving my father a drive of a Tesla Model S back in 2017 or something. He was hitting 100km/h+ in 50km/h zones because he didn't realise (wasn't used to) how quick it reached such speeds. I had to tell him, 'Dad, you know you're hitting like 100+.'
      He was shocked. He just wanted to see what it was like to drive an EV, and to feel the throttle response. I had to explain that the car is very fast.
      Whereas in a petrol vehicle, I think humans are more aware they are going fast because the engine is revving and there is usually a lot of commotion going on, gears changing etc.
      I'm not trying to start an argument here I'm simply saying I think this is an important area we all need to discuss, and maybe car brands need to make it very clear to buyers in the showroom that such cars are extremely quick and experience is preferred (or mandatory advanced driving course?). Just like with extremely quick petrol vehicles.
      The potential issue is that this is only the beginning; EVs account for a small percentage of the vehicles on our roads (at least in Australia).

    Great video and review. Outside looks cool, power is sensational, interior is nice for material and design but stupid as it gets running everything on that little touchscreen and no start/stop button. Why do brands need to do that dumb shit - oh yeah to save 75c per build.

      @mubblemann Місяць тому

      Why do you need a start stop button? It's ready to drive without it.

    Just think it is crazy having cars that can accelerate like this legal, there has just been a horror crash where two people in their 20s lost there lives in a Toyota Yarris GR just near where I live, it looks like they were going so fast that they have become airborne on a slight dip in the road and hit a tree then burst into flames. Honestly performance like this is just way too much for the road.

      They drove like idiots so natural selection occurred, and nothing of value was lost.

    • @TheSydguy30
      @TheSydguy30 Місяць тому +1

      You realise the acceleration is proportional to how much you push down the accelerator? Don't blame the car, blame the driver. If you have an issue driving a car like this you shouldn't be driving.

    Why have an ESC Off mode if it doesn't turn off?
    I used to love Volvos but this is pretty sad. Completely against their ethos.
    By the way, I had a 740 Turbo HP and it didn't do 0-100 in 3 seconds but it was fantastic to drive and yes, did amazing donuts.

    The day a very boring EV appeared, acceleration was too fast, top speed was very low, range was still not optimal for high speeds

    I honestly don’t care how fast it is. Volvo only by name, like MG. It’s Chinese, it’s electric, it’s a no! 🥱
