There is a special place in hell for the 2 people who disliked this video! Great job Kevin. this makes me want to do a case build for my controller set up!
I just did a case build for the 1000 and used a 1u rack drawer to hold stuff in. it works well as you can see everything needed underneath of the controller.
Good Job. I bought the Gator case that is just like yours about 6 years ago. I have done the same thing that you have done. Everything is mounted under my ddj-SX2. The only thing that I have that's different than yours is that I have my cables coming out of the case facing toward me. I don't like the audience to see any cables. I also have 1 slight issue with the arm. You have to be light on touching your Macbook keyboard and mouse or it bounces the laptop. That will make it hard to read the song names and move the mouse to do the right thing. All and All I love it. The other sliding shelf that most cases have killed my back. Too low and too far away. oh 1 more thing that I like about mine is that the laptop arm brings the laptop to eye level so I don't look down.
Wow just wanted. To say good job. I have. The ddj 800 i did the case build as well. What you said about the power con. Thing. I wasnt thinking along them lines. Im gonna get another 1 and change just like your. Never thought about. What happens if the. Power con fails
Excellent work, thank you for sharing. I have Ddj 800 with 2 sannheiser wiresless mics. Any issues with wireless mic reception or DMX. Where would you recommend placing wireless mics to make sure there are no issues.
Cool! I just used the half wave antennae in the rear of the case, as I show... but the ultimate solution would be to try to get them high up so that they always have line-of-sight to the wireless microphone (aka transmitter). :)

Great video, what is the part you used for the headphone hanger? Thanks
My brother welded it for me
@@SmilestonesDJAdventuresHe did great work on it. You mention it was from a piece you found at Sam Ash's. Do you remember what the original piece was? Thanks for the reply.
@@loganoler6017 no sorry I don’t recall. It was just a metal wire headphone piece I believe
Nice but I would've added an XLR for the booth output.
Thx
Hi where did you get your mic holder from
Here’s a little video about that! ua-cam.com/video/oL2-1smgR-c/v-deo.html
Dope! This inspired me to build my own. I managed to fit the laptop shelf under the case with the microphones on the left side and put all my gear on the right.
Is your case tough to close? The foam on mine is thick and when I close it I'm always afraid I'm breaking something
I have one more question what size of laptop do you use? I'm planning of getting a 15inch so I'm trying to visualize how it would look with my setup
Hey bro, what's the name of the vesa arm you got ?
It’s a Fleximounts :)
That is an awesome setup man, I have a sumilar flight case for my numark ns7iii. I'm thinking abt doing a setup like that? NICE
Very, very, very cool!! Nice modding!! That is awesome! Have fun and enjoy! 😉
Hey Kevin nice work I’m doing something similar. A couple of questions, the stub thats in the foam for the quick connect, what’s it called or where did you get it and how did you install it 7:52
Sorry for the very late reply -- If you're still interested in the quick connect parts here's a quick video I just made for a friend - ua-cam.com/video/oL2-1smgR-c/v-deo.html
Good job man Easy to setup on One moment, zero thinking what to not forget
Thanks Maco!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures i did the same, setup all equipment i Need inside the case and cables to connect, Easy to go and start at the event, less stress ti packing all the time. Now i do i new video with a magma case XXL LITE for a new setup up
@@MACODJ totally agree. We need to minimize the stress, having to remember everything, plus TIME! :)
Getting everything into a magma would be quite a feat! That’s not alot of space. Would love to see it!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures ahhh i know, i do new video of a new nice magma case, follow my Channel
Thanks for the ideas I'll try some of it
Man you’ll done a great job!!! What screws (exact size) did you use for the arm mount? And the size for the laptop holder? Working to do mine tomorrow
Thanks Fleetwood! Hope your project goes well! I’m sorry that I don’t remember the exact size - I remember taking the mount base to the hardware store, along with my case measurements, to be sure I bought the best size
Thanks for always getting back
How does the BLX microphone treat you? Interested in getting the same one...have heard a lot of complaints regarding drop outs though. is it pretty solid for you?
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thank you for that! I recently bought a shure ULXS4 used for fairly cheap, havnt had a chance to use it yet, I plan on building that into my case but would like to have 2, just in case! So I was looking into doing one ULX and one BLX but maybe I'll bite the bullet and buy a second ULX for it and mount the antenna in the rear like you mentioned
Where are you mic antennas?
In the rear
Dude this is beautiful... I'll have to try this!
Do you have a list of the parts? Anyway you can email them? Djalvarezentertainment@gmail.com
DJ Anthony Alvarez did you ever receive that list? Citizensgate1@gmail.com / send it my way if so.
How many people had heart pulpitations when u put laptop stand on platter ;D well done, nice1!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures we saw that milisecond of hesitation ;D hard tekk djs shud learn from wedding dj community but for real, one can see who spins more often lol ;D
Great video!!!!! Really like what you did. Gave me some great ideas. Thank you 🙏🏻
Great job on the mod of the case, I would like to do exactly that for my DDJ1000. The powercon and the xlr are the most ideal mod for a case that I have seen in a long time. How much extra did you invest for the mod ?
Fantastic job!! Love the Headphone holder. I miss the Booth-out, but other than that it looks complete. 🙌
Which laptop stand is that can u pls give the model number thks
I mention it in the video - I borrowed the idea from an old rick Webb video.
This is a really cool case
Awesome set up well done sir.
Super dope bro...makes me want to make one!
Awesome video and great content. I’m always skeptical on storing things with my controller as I don’t want the unit to get damaged. Have you had any issues? Thanks and be well
Hey thanks!
I was super careful to ensure that everything was either fixed in place (Velcro or screwed in, etc) or had 0 wiggle room to bounce around in the case during transport. It worked well for me with no issues !
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures awesome thanks! Looks like a lot of work up front, but probably saves you close to 20 mins of set up time! Be blessed
Love it, what laptop stand is that?
It’s a “fleximounts”, from Amazon!
