1996 I worked at scona Honda in Edmonton and I pulled the very first 1997 Valkyrie out of the box !
You sir are a Hero. I have a black 97 standard, purchased it from a guy that owned a Porsche dealership in Houston. It is the reason I started riding. Bought a Suzuki 800 as a trainer and then after I got comfortable purchased the Valk(Raven). I love my bike.
I'd take that over a harley any day.
Just Imagine having something like that and due to health have to give it up ... What a bike !

No doubt about it that Honda is second to none for adapting automobile engineering into their motorcycle products. That being said, the Valkyrie is a bike thru & thru!
Buddy of mine bought one of these and let me take it for a ride. Smooooth ride/acceleration. Freight train amount of torque. Pretty agile at speed, just an awesome rider.
I have a 97 valkyrie with 137,000+ miles. 6 to 6 exhaust, full GPS fairing, 215 dark side rear tire.
I can't believe how nasty and throaty that think sounds!

I'm 5'7" 175lbs I have no problems with the size and wieght. Its the only bike ive driven since 1999. The hard bags are great you can find them somewhere.
I love the Honda Valkyrie my dad had a 1800 VTX Cruiser in 2005 and I used to ride it when I was 15 all the time
I have a red and black 2000 touring model with a hard bags. And 6 into 6 45,000 mi I believe. 5,000 cash will buy it

I have a 1998 but mine is the red and cream. It has had all the same Chrome added too. The Faux open intake tubes get a lot of comments! Mine has custom 6 into 2 exhaust that has clip in inserts (not baffles) that make it a lot louder and increase power with them in the pipes. They are amazing bikes. I have had a lot of bikes and my wife loves riding on the back of the Valkyrie best.

I prefer gen1 over gen2..
It's seems that BMW would agree as their new heritage flagship R-18 mimics more of the Honda Valkyrie then any H-D type .

@@WerkToday the bike has a 6 cylinder engine as does the flat 6 porsche which makes them sound very alike if you think other wise then its baffling
