- on a side not I should of said that the orientica bottle exclusif bleu is different to the Al Haramain and Amber Oud Exclusif bleu bottles, although those two are both the same 😀.
Their all worryingly similar though 🤔😉

I bought Detour Noir and really enjoyed it as I had never smelled anything like it at the time. I have since had a sample of Leyton and now think the Detour is very synthetic in comparison and doesn't last as long (for me anyway). I recently purchased Costume National I and initially it does smell like Leyton in the air but has a leather note up close. Despite having purchased fragrances on the recommendations of influencers in the past and being disappointed I decided to buy Orientica Royal Blu on your recommendation and I just wanted to say thank you ! This stuff is amazing. It lasts a long time and it smells identical to my sample of Leyton. Always fancied buying Leyton but was unaware of reformulations that you speak of so maybe not. But really I don't think I need to as this stuff ( The Orient Express One :) ) is amazing. Love your down to earth reviews and its refreshing to hear someone speak with a passion about fragrances they like rather than the usual top ten fragrances for when your reviewing your top ten fragrances type videos. I have also purchased your CDN Limited Edition recommendation after being disappointed with the Insidious from Insider parfums version. Thanks again buddy and keep up your reviews which I'm working my way through now :)

Sorry it took me so long to reply mate.
I'm glad you like the Orientica royal blue, it's incredible isn't it! I have a bottle of the 77% vol original formulation of Layton and this is a 1-1 clone, it's indistinguishable from it in fact.
Your thoughts on Insidious certainly mirror my own, I did give it another wear the other day as its been macerated for a good few months now, it's good but only for a few hours then it's gone, it's a shame as I had high hopes for it but such us life I guess 😀
I will do another video soon, I recently picked up a 180ml Aqua di Gio profumo, stunning fragrence!

@leodelcastillo8357 cheers buddy 👍🏻. Funnily enough a mate of mine tried my Orientica Royal Blue and immediately bought a bottle from Orientica, he's a big fan of the original formulation and couldn’t believe how 100% accurate it is 🙂

Al Haramain Detour give me headache. I had 10ml sample and decided to dig deeper into Layton clones to find something better. Finally I bought Orientica Royal Blue for around £55, very nice stuff (bottle as well 😉)

I've didn't get a headache with Detour Noir but I got a bit tired of the scent being basically just the Layton dry-down, it's great for the price but ad you have found out there are better alternatives out there 😁

The newer batches (post 2021/22) when they revised the formulation do lack that minty
fresh opening.
I can definitely recommend the Orientica Royal Blu or Exclusif, they both nail the OG opening that's for sure!
personally I'd go for the RB as you get 90ml, the bottle design is a bit iffy though 😀

Where have you been buddy, was just thinking not seen in ages... Good to see you back... Have you ever tried any perfume parlour clones? They are actually really good and get most of them pretty damn close, with excellent longevity also... And the prices are dirt cheap compared to what the big houses are asking for..

I actually have never tried PP but there on my list as I hear their Angel Share is spot on, I se you picked it up and like it so that's another recommendation 👌🍻.
I haven't tried Tom Ford beu de jour, il give it a try next time I'm at Selfridges, I try not to go in their too often as I end up spending lots of money 😅
My last two pick-ups were Tom Ford Ombre Leather Parfume which is simply beautiful and the incredible Naxos by xerjoff, now that is a masterpiece!
I'm doing a video on the whole Club de nuit range and one on their Badeel al Oud range too next week, then another one on my fave winter/autumn frags too 😀
One thing to warn you about beau de jour.. Dont be put off with the initial blast of lavender as its really overwhelming... But after 5 minutes when it settles.. It's absolutely fantastic
Can anyone telle me how the performance on royal blue is?
I tried detour noir, it has horrible performance. I tried amber oud bleu exclusif and I love the quality and performance. I can't decide if I wanna get another bottle of amber oud bleu exclusif or if I wanna try orientica royal blue.
Hi mate, I didn't find Detour Noir to be a bad performer tbh, it certainly isn't as good as Amber Oud Blu Exclusif or Orientica Royal Blu though but it's a lot cheaper 😀
Either the Orientica RB or AO Blu Exclusif are superb, although if you can find the Orientica for the same price I'd go for that as you get 80ml instead of 60.
To my nose they are indistinguishable 😎
hey @@chrisperry5244 how long do these Orientica dupes last? I heard that the Xcluxif Oud Bleu lasts longer than the Royal Bleu (it's also an Extrait instead of EdP). How's your experience with that?
I could get the Royal bleu for like 15% cheaper than the Oud Bleu

They are both absaloute beast mode mate, I try not to use that phrase lightly but in the case of both of them they are 12+ hours with strong projection throughout.

Orientica royal bleu & xclusif bleu have quite a bit of notes that are different the royal bleu flows more of the PDM Layton notes from top mid & base
Your right the notes are different between Royal and Excusif but to my nose they are exactly the same, from top to bottom. Both great though 👌
Note are just that..."notes". If you see the back of the box in pretty much all fragrances they have a lot of aroma chemicals and the notes are just a way of telling you hey this smells like this but it doesn't necessarily have *that* specific note that you see in the note breakdown.
@pooolish334 you correct in saying notes ate just notes, basically whatever chemicals are being used (and they will usually be different because of price etc) they can still achieve the same note. Your nose never lies, but the back of the box may confuse us 😅
Orientica Royal Bleu and the Xclusif Oud Bleu are exactly the same ? Only difference is the strength.

Awesome video! Now I’m curious about what’s up with “amber oud exclusif bleu” and “al haramain amber oud bleu”. It’s basically al haramain but it’s kinda not but they share the same bottle supplier, and their warehouses are supposedly right next to eachother but they insist that they are different brands. Whole thing is just confusing. Regardless, I have a bottle of exclusif bleu arriving tomorrow and I’m looking forward to trying it out!

I'm very sure Al Haramain have subsidiary companies as you say, the Amber oud exclusif bleu (not branded) is the Layton clone which is exactly the same as the Orientica Royal Bleu/exclusif bleu. I'm sure they do it for tax purposes as orientica is based in Europe so they won't have to pay import duty, either way both are absaloutly banging dupes, I can't tell the difference from the OG 78% formulation Layton.
On a side note Al Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco edition is a spot on clone of TF Tobacco Vinale, I got it the other day and its excellent 👏
@@chrisperry5244 Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu is a dupe of Layton. To my knowledge, there are three other fragrances under "Amber Oud Exclusif" and they are Classic, Emerald and Sport. Al Haramain's dupe of Bleu de Chanel is called Amber Oud Bleu Edition. So Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu = Layton, and Amber Oud Bleu Edition = BDC. I assumed Amber Oud Exclusif was Al Haramain's exclusive line, but it's all very confusing. Orientica is apparently connected to Al Haramain as you said, and Orientica XO Xclusif Oud Bleu is supposed to be identical to Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu. I've also read that Orientica's version has slightly worse performance. Anyway, I'm happy for someone to correct me regarding who owns what, who makes what and the performance of each!
@undercovermc yes your absaloutly correct there mate, the exclusif bleu is the layton clone and the bleu is the BDC clone. All very and unnecessarily confusing 😀.
I have the orientica Royal Bleu and its absaloutly indistinguishable from my original 77% Layton, infact I'd go as far to say that it's slightly longer lasting too.
I'm incredibly fussy about clone fragrences, if its not 100% il say, but trust me the orientica is 100%.
I also have the Orientica Exclusif bleu (as shown in the video) and to my nose its exactly the same as the orientica royal bleu.
I get an easy 12 hours out of it, my layton lasts maybe 10. It's a huge compliment getter too, hence I bought a back up bottle just incase it gets the dreaded reformulation they all seen to endure.
I'm not sure why I keep the original Layton tbh, it's probably worth £250 as the 77% (or 78%, I forget which) is very sort after, the bottle is lovely though 😀
I recently got kilian angels share clone from PP and I'm over the moon with it

Is XO Xclusif Oud Blue the same as Al Haramain Amber Oud Exclusive Blue Perfume Extract 60 ml? It's 20 euro cheaper then the amber oud and it seems the same... Is it?
@polanialmoni6274 the Orientica XO Exclusif oud blu is exactly the same mate. Personally I'd go for the Orientica Royal Blu (in the fancy bottle) as its exactly the same too and you get 80ml 👍

No not synthetic at all mate, it's very well blended and to my nose indistinguishable from the pre-reformulation Layton 👍
