@@mcdoraq44 I don't need to divide any one. There is already so much division among Muslims that they are divided into 72/73 sects and among all those sects, there exists so much hate and dislike for each other for centuries, which is now impossible to heal. So the point I was trying to make in my earlier remark about engineer Mirza was that at least he is preaching tolerance and coexistence in the climate of turbulence.

"I've already dug myself deep enough, might as well say what needs to be said" kinda funny, but so very true. Someone has to speak up and say what is necessary.
Why do we, as Muslims, not like these types of "hatred" situations happening against Muslims, but find it OK when it happens by Muslims to others? We should all question ourselves and ask if these actions please Allah. Yes, your right brother Qadhi, we need to concentrate on ourselves and how to be better Muslims, rather than be judge and jury on others. We want forgiveness and mercy, but yet don't want others (Muslim or non-Muslims) to have the same right of forgiveness and mercy. May Allah guide all of us and May Allah bless you brother, for speaking up and telling the truth and condemning what happened.

Sheikh honestly I am in love with you. Islam needs warriors like you. I am a student of law in Pakistan and have an interest in Blasphemy laws. After watching numerous videos of Pakistani scholars, I was really disappointed. I Thank Allah that I watched your video, I am relieved now. I am overwhelmed to such an extent that I don't know how to express my feelings. I honestly feel for the Ummah for its emerging radicalized nature. Why have we restricted Islam to just the faraiz? Rasool Allah saw was sent as a practical example of how to behave in every situation, why are Muslims not aware of that, and why is Rasool Allah's saw way of behaviour not given importance, taught and encouraged to be followed?

However, I wish one thing was elaborated upon - you said there were people at the time of the Prophet who blasphemed but they were forgiven and some were executed also. I want to know what kind of people were executed and whether they had perpetrated other crimes along with insulting the Prophet and Islam, whether the culmination of all those crimes was their execution or did they solely commit the crime of insulting the Prophet. “Whoever wants, let them believe. Whoever wants, let them disbelieve.” (Quran 18:29).
“There’s no coercion in religion.” (Quran 2:256). “Do not insult those (gods) they invoke other than Allah; lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge.” (Quran 6:108)
The Quran gives a non-Muslim person freedom to choose Islam or stay on their religion. No one can be forced to convert to Islam. They will be responsible in front of God on the Day of Judgment for not choosing Islam, the religion of truth.
HOWEVER, this freedom to choose Islam was never understood to mean that a person is free to commit treason, sedition, hate speech (blasphemy), or desecrate or insult the sacred. No one has the right to insult any religion and gods.
What one does inside their homes is their own business. It may or may not negatively impact public health and safety, but, in general, it is between them and God. Publicly, however, no religion, god, prophet, or anything sacred should ever be publicly insulted, derided, or mocked. Any morally upright human being would avoid such behavior.
The Quran forbids Muslims from insulting other people’s false gods (Quran 6:108).
This does not mean we’re not allowed to disagree or express opinions based on logic and facts. This does not mean we Muslims are not open to academic challenges. Respectful disagreements are always welcomed in Islam. In fact, the books of theology and law are full of academic debates where the scholars disagree with each other on details. The more knowledgeable I became as I studied classical theology and Islamic legal theory, the more tolerant I became of other scholars’ principled opinions.
Historically, apostacy meant treason. And treason meant apostacy. Committing apostacy meant committing treason. Committing treason meant committing apostacy. As such, both were punishable by death. When a person left Islam historically, they almost always joined the enemy. Hence, the treason that results in death penalty.

    Blasphemy in Islam.
The concept of blasphemy and the current protests and violence in India have baffled me and I am concerned.
What is blasphemy in Islam? Broadly, it refers to “Impious utterance or action concerning their God, mocking or vilifying of attributes of Islam and deniying the fundamental beliefs of Islam.”
Muslims are very touchy to an even unintended remark on Allah or Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh) or on Quranic verses and react with great aggression. They demand severe punishment including beheading of the person alleged to have insulted.
But some of the verses in the Quran and hadiths do not substantiate the above. The views of some of the Islamic scholars also differ on this issue. To emphasise that there is no punishment in Islam for blasphemy, several instances in the life of Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh) as well as verses from Quran and hadiths are quoted.
Abdullah bin Ubayyee(chief of hypocrites) continuously abused the Prophet(Pbuh). When he passed away, the Prophet(Pbuh)stood to offer funeral prayers. (Sahib Bukhari, Vol.6, Book 60, Number 92.
Then there is the story of Sarah, a woman who used to throw garbage on the way the Prophet(Pbuh) was walking and finally she threw the garbage on his head. But he did not retaliate; instead he visited her when she fell ill touched by his generosity, she became her follower.
There is also the story of someone at the instigation of Abhu Jahl, Uqbah bin AbiMueet, heaped the entrails of a camel over the Prophet when he was prostrating in prayer. Yet the Prophet(Pbuh) did not retaliate.(Sahib al.Bukhari 3185).
Once when the Propher(Pbuh) was in Mecca, a person came to him and told him face to face “Muzammaman abayana,” that is” Muhammad, you are a condemned person” The Prophet smiled; that smile won him over and he accepted him as a Prophet.
Ms. Farida Khanam of CPC International writes in the Times of India Speaking Tree column,”Here are some of the epithets given to the prophets as mentioned in the Quran: “ a liar” (14.24), “possessed”(15.6), “ A fabricator” (16.101, and “ a foolish man”(7.66). However nowhere does the Quran prescribe any physical punishment for these offences”.
She continues,”it clearly shows that “ Abuse of the Prophet(Pbuh) is not a subject of condemnation or seeking punishment; rather it is a subject of removing their misunderstanding through sound arguments in order to address their mind”.
Even in the early years of preaching, the followers of the Prophet(Pbuh) were tortured and even executed. He himself was abused , ridiculed and Meccan oligarchy pronounced total boycott of his family. The Quraysh divorced his daughters and exiled them.
What was the reaction of the Prophet(pbuh)to all these humiliations? Peace!!!
From the beginning, the Prophet(Pbuh) admonished his followers against violence. A careful study of the Quran reveals the following”
In the first three years, he was apprehensive that his followers would resort violence in conversion of the idolator Quraysh. Hence he said” Let there be no compulsion in religion. True guidance has become distinct from error. But whoever refuses to to be led by Satan and believes in God has grasped the strong handhold that will never break. God is all hearing and all knowing”.(2.256)
As his preaching was receiving public approval especially from the poor, he again was concerned that his adherents were inwardly agitated at the atrocities on them and would retaliate, he said, “Say, ‘People of the Book, do not go to extremes in your religion and do not follow the whims of those who went astray before you-they caused many to go astray and themselves strayed from the right path.’” (5.77)
Realising that there were still substantial number of Meccans hostile towards him, the Prophet(Pbuh) said,”Had your Lord pleased, all the people on earth would have believed in him without exception. So will you compel people to become believers?”(10.99)
When the crusade war was raging, and his followers some of whom were not listening to him, he said towards the end his life, “Say, You who deny the truth , I do not worship what you worship,. You do not worship what I worship. I will never worship what you worship. You will never worship what I worship. You have your religion and I have mine.”(109 1 to 6) Thus it is obligatory on Muslims to abhor violence and follow the Prophet(Pbuh) as a messenger of peace.
There is a mistaken belief by radical Muslims that by beheading or killing those who abuse the Prophet, they will go to heaven. On this the renowned Maulana Wahiddudin Khan of CPC International writes in his book on Quran,
“Considering any community as a favourite community of God is an absolute meaningless thought. Before God, the reckoning is individual to individual and community to community. Everybody will get his reward before God according to his deeds. In the eyes of God, every man is a human being irrespective of his belonging to this community or that. Every man’s future will be decided on the basis of his performance in this world of tests and trials. Paradise is not reserved for any particular community, nor hell is a prison for any particular community.”
Let all of us irrespective of whichever religion we belong take the path of peace and harmony as propounded by the Prophet(Pbuh) when he said,
“God calls man to the home of peace and he guides whom he wills to a straight path.” (10.25)
“Whoever is patient and forgiving and acts with great courage and resolution, that is among the matters of steadfast determination”(42-43)
According to Hadith, ‘A true Muslim is the one who truly follows Islam, someone in perfect peace with himself and with others”. Allah mentioned ’He who kills a soul will be as if he had killed all human kind.”
Why then is this beheading or killing?
Anger and ego are man’s worst enemies.
I am a Hindu and I have read the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible several times and also commentaries thereon besides Hindu scriptures the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. I find the key concepts such as the Birth of the Messengers, their persecution, One God, the Creation and Dissolution of the Universe, Love, War , Peace and Harmony, Heaven and Hell, Surrender to God, the Soul, Forgiveness, Prayer, Fasting, Charity, Food, Miracles and Story Telling are all strikingly similar. You will find these in the Book “One God Many Names” and subtitle’ We are Children of One god’.
Quoting from the Upanishads, Swami Vivekananda spoke in the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893:
‘Like so many rivers flowing from different mountains, all coming and mingling their waters in the see, all different religions, taking their births from different points of fact, come to Thee.”
All religions lead one to God.
As stated by Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh) let us all respect all religions and avoid conflicts due to conversions and abuses. Half of conflicts in the world will disappear.
    K V Sundaravadanan

Will i be stoned for doing so? I am repentant and ready to atone for my sin?

General Zia made blasphemy laws under his military dictatorship in 1984 by issuing an Ordinance and his intension was mainly to punish members of Ahmadiyya Muslimien Community and that law was named as "Qadiany Ordinance". A large number of restrictions were imposed against Ahmadi Muslims; such as they could not day Adan, they could not recite the Holly Qur'an, they could not say Kalima Tayaba and many more including they could not say Assalam o Alaikum to any one.
If any one accused any Ahmadi of saying Assalam o Alaikum to any one then he would go to the local police station and register a case against that innocent Ahmadi with out any witness. Police would go and arrest that Ahmadi and then no magistrate would hear his case or grant him bail, so that innocent would spend years in awful jail conditions.
I know for fact, there are more than 300 innocent Ahmadees in various Pakistani jails for a number of years and government of Pakistan has locked them in jails and thrown the key away.

I think it is social media fault because with social-media more people can preach like a religious scholar and seed mob mentality. Also, a layman will follow a popular preacher on social media but unable to identify it as legitimate scholar or not. Much learning and indoctrination will come from listening to preaches in social-media where there's no standardised teaching syllabus and no topics and mostly non-academic (like telling story, telling jokes, and do motivational speeches).

Dear may Allah guide us all!!! Social media is just like a money we can use it for good or bad. We cannot expect Allah to accept social as an excuse for our bad actions. We have to take responsibility !That is my understanding! Allah knows best

Blasphemy can only be towards Allah the One. No prophet, man or angel can be subject to blasphemy. Also you can’t say what does Islam say about… it is what Allah says, and that we know in The Great Quran.
