Why am I Interested in UX design? Because I am a creative person who is looking for an innovative career. One that pays well and is flexible allowing me to work from anywhere. Also I am very interested in what the latest technologies are and would like to contribute in some way providing value in the business. Also since it's a fairly new field and the demand is high, I figured to take advantage of the opportunity to learn it now. I am always inclined to creative stuff and tech. I think UX design combines the two really well, and it seems like something that excites me to work for everyday. Hopefully, I can become a UX designer in the future.
Working as an electrician in NY. While I don love what I do, I eventually plan to move away from the city and when I do I know that the construction industry while still in full tilt will not be the same. This job seems like a good approach to staying active with people, but also a more diverse and travel-able trade

During the pandemic i was asked to work more online and digital with my interior design projects, and found the interest of both working remote and to find smart solutions for our company on how to digitalize the projects. I have decided to do a career move as this career path give me more freedom to work anywhere, I resesrch solutions, i design and can be both creative and strategic. Is this the right mindset? Looking forward to start this new path anyway ☺️
Thank you for this video.. I have been brainstorming for months and I think this is what I want.. I love designs, I think I will take my designing skills by becoming a Ux designer.
Great info. Currently making the transition from print and robot like artworking jobs to UX. Definitely a way more exciting, future proof and better paid direction to take.
Would want to explore the creative self in me and keep challenging and going through multiple iterations till it satisfies the user with pros of travel and continuous new faces that teach one to grow. Would really be glad to know more about it and pursue it as my career. Thank you for Motivating!
i like that you say you are interested in innovation for the sake of solving problems--i am the same way. i have a psych background and i'm looking to become a ux designer. thanks for this vid.
Hey Wallace, great video. I'm a budding web developer and am also interested in UX/UI design. I see the necessity for being able to identify the best way to provide a service to your potential clients and converting them. Any thoughts about web developers who want to also be designers? I've heard people grumble at the thought.
UX notes for this video. Make sure when you are reading the text on the screen you read it accurately. Shorten your descriptions at times. And tune down the music, it can get distracting.
I am graduating soon from Uni and the course I did is NationalDiploma in three-Dimensional Design which qualifies me to become a Product Designer. During my studies, however, I was joining a team once to do a"Design Thinking" or "Design Sprint" project which basically links towards Human-centered/Co-Design therefore for this career path, it makes me more curious and but i do not have the experience to the real world in order to pursue this partiticular choice into an endmeat Job. So I am asking "Why does it relate to UX/UI and does it really apply toward endmeat at the end of the day?
In regards to Design thinking this will be part of what you do as a designer on a insistent basis. It’s truly important to look deeply into Design thinking and understand how it works. There are some great books on design thinking But study the work and get books from Don Norman and anything from Stanford Design School
Hey boss hope you get this comment. I am considering going back to school for a 3 year interaction design and development program here in Canada. I am 22 so the time commitment is not the worst thing in the world. Tons of people online are telling me to go the self taught route as I already have some web development knowledge under my belt. However, being self taught makes it incredibly hard to get internships as it is illegal to hire non students for unpaid jobs here. What are your thoughts on self taught vs. formal education? It feels like there is so much to know about UX and design that you would gain a more solid foundation through college. All the best.
Amazing video Laith. Got a question, what advise would you to someone who studied Psychology as an undergraduate degree and is interested in Health and wellbeing and is considering becoming a UX Designer?
You’ll do very well in UX Design with your degree in Psychology and you could even specialise with working with companies in the Health and wellness space
Hey Laith, great to see you back in my YT feed. Love your content. I wanted to ask how do you get through the initial phases of a brand new client project? I really want to become a great UX/UI designer but in the past I have struggled with trying to design a product/website/app with so many moving parts to consider at the same time, I find it very overwhelming and I keep vacillating between different details of looks vs functionality and back again, with so much details to consider, I get frustrated and lose the ability to come up with solid practical ideas, would love to see your workflow process on how you tackle new UX projects?
Hi thanks for your questions. When you are in the initial phases of the project you want to make sure that you have some type of questionnaire or series of questions that you will ask to make sure you can define the problem in the best way possible.
Here is a great article for you to check out. uxdesign.cc/stakeholder-interviews-a-step-by-step-guide-for-a-successful-interview-439ee565e4a5?source=linkShare-fc06b96a4548-1523344215
To stop feeling overwhelmed with some projects try and define the features that will be in the app / website before you start designing and get sign off on the features + do some discovery on competitors and the audience the product is being designed for. Get sign off from the client on that initial work and then when you start designing you can Design according to the features and discovery work you have done that the client has signed off on. This is a better and more iterative way of working. If you want I can create a video on my process as a designer and how I work.
Hi Wallace, thanks for getting back to me about this, would you mind reviewing my questionaire template and letting me know if the questions I have prepared to ask future paid clients would be enough to draw valuable useful answers from the client?
Thanks for your great advice. If I could improve on passive income I'd prefer to go on freelance ux designer career. Is it possible as I already have a reasonable job?
Hi Zia I do think it depends on your goals and what you want to achieve. I went freelance because I wanted to control the time I work with clients, I can also earn more as I have some goals of getting into property investment and setting up a free digital skills online training school for young people. Freelancing is just the first stage of my goals as you can earn more and work with clients you want to work with. If you do choose to go freelance then you need to think about who you serve in the marketplace and the best way to market your skills. The best thing to do is give more value and market to people by educating them as to what they can do to solve their problems. You can see where I do this with my UA-cam channel. Give away 99% of your best content via video, podcasts or blogs and it will gain attention and bring business your way as long as you are good at what you do and have set up the right marketing funnels. I would use a webinar funnel to do this. Let me know if you want to know more about this!! If you are happy in your job then I wouldn’t suggest you leave it to freelance but if you do want to go freelance then you want to set things up financially before you leave your job. You also want to make sure you have a proven system to generate clients on a regular basis. Let me know if you want to know more about this!! I’ll create some videos about marketing for freelancers if you think this is a good idea. Thanks! Have a great day!

Hi Samuel - It sounds like you would really have to start from scratch and redesign the software from scratch. You can make incremental changes but this may not have a big enough impact. I would suggest you bring your team together and really discuss how the product could be improved. You can use a process like Lightning decision Jam so you can make decisions quickly ua-cam.com/video/xNpVaNIUS4U/v-deo.html you can also work out what will take the most or least effort and give you the biggest impact. Hope that helps!
