Hello Friends! I have been using clay pots on a gas stove. You can checkout some of those dishes that I posted on my instagram instagram.com/fittuber/?hl=en I wish you good health, Fit Tuber
Dear Fit Tuber, You have actually changed so many mistakes which I have been making all these days. Ex: Using ponds cream : Eating sugar : Having fruits along with foodsome good things I am following after watching your videos are : Eating jaggery : Having Ghee : Using almond oil ...etc thank you so much for changing my daily routine into a better one .
Brass or Copper readily reacts with acidic or excessive salty foods and it can actually leave a metallic smell and taste to your food. Clayware and Cast iron requires high maintenance. According to me the most practical cookware could be stainless Steel. Make sure you buy it from a reputed brand.

I am using earthen clay pot since 2 years … I can say that it’s really good you can easily cook any dishes exception frying . Before using u need to keep 2 or 3 days in deep water later you can use on daily basis .. for cleaning you can use salt or else wood ash (rakh in Marathi ) . I have seen my mother use to keep clay pot in sunlight but in cities it is not possible I am cleaning it by water boiling in it and some lemon .. I have noticed atleast odour is not coming from vessels and it removes stickiness too … This is my experience may be I am making mistakes… if anybody knows they can also suggest .

*The correct way to use a clay or earthern utensil is to oil and season it in the sun, three times.* This will not only make it strong but the food will also be cooked easily and quickly.
@@Mikael655 soak the whole pot in water for a day, then take out n dry it. Smear oil, let sit under sun . The rules to follow for cooking is keep the flame low always, never put it empty on stove, add water/oil/grain whatever you’re cooking , and lastly wash after it has cooled off.

Hi Anna, You know what... when I see your videos I get the urge to more of your videos and I end up getting confused on which video should I see first... so much of good and useful videos!!! Great work! Keep doing!🎉🔥
Useful video. It is always wise to look back to the healthy life of our ancestors before we do something. They used only clay/ iron/brass/stone vessals and bio spoons made of jackfruit tree leaves, aracanut tree leaves, cocunut shells etc. For the last 3 to 4 years I use cookwares made of clay, iron or stone ('kalchatti' in our language) only. Very rarely steel vessels too. For serving, only glass, ceramic, coconut shell or steel utensils. And yes, banana leaves, of course! I threw away all my non stick cookwares out of my house without any concern. But still I could not avoid pressure cookers. Could you please tell me what is the metal used for making that Futura black pressure cooker? Is it healthy to use for cooking?
I don't get the idea that pressure cooker destroys nutrients by adding excess pressure. The science of pressure cooker is different. When pressure is increased, the boiling point of water is also increased. So the temperature becomes high and thus food is cooked fast at high temperatures. The temperature dependent nutrients can break at high temperatures. But.. in general pots also boiling temperature is 100 degree Celsius for water. Temperature dependent nutrients like vitamin C will get destroyed in ordinary vessel also. Again in high altitude , where air pressure is low.. cooking food is only possible by a pressure cooker. In a way , I think you must look at your comments on pressure cooking more deeply.
Probably he should have said or meant that because of pressure the temperature required to cook gets lesser than what ia actually needed. Say under normal conditions, rice would require x degrees of temp which is achievable only under non pressure cooking situation, thus taking more time. Whereas when pressure cooked, the rice gets cooked at lesser temperature thus not able to produce the nutrients. Under the non pressure situation, rice will only get cooked or say nutrients of the rice will only emerge out of the rice when normal cooked. Rice will keep on extracting heat from the burner till it is naturally "cooked". While under pressure cooking, it is by force made to fluff and make it cook while not being able to suck out those nutrients.
@@shaantubes .. nutrients won't emerge in the process of cooking. Nutrients are produced while crops are growing as a fruit of a tree. Any cooking process destroys some part of the nutrients. These nutrients are vitamins actually. Most of the vitamins are not stable in cooking temperature. Hence we are guided to eat fruits and salads as well.

So, though I rarely comment, I wanna take this opportunity to thank you for helping me, a lot of people like me; and for thinking about our farmers and potters. Actually after every use I m applying oil for preventing rust... Even though...!! Brother plz make video for CLEANING MAINTAINING PRECAUTIONS for Using iron, brass and clay pots(i m very much interested to cook food in these vessels) ....
Our family used clay utensils since ancient times. But a few 10 or 20 years earlier ny parents, uncle, aunts and relatives started cooking in either stainless steel utensils or non stick cookware. But after seeing this video, I REQUESTED all of them to use clay and brass utensils. They are now using clay, brass or copper utensils.

You must have seen your Grandma cooking in brass cookware, which were literally so heavy that lifting it up was quite a task! In fact, it was a common belief that cooking and eating in brass plates was beneficial for health. However, eating in brass utensil was not that harmful as compared to cooking. Brass easily reacts with salt and acidic foods, when it is heated.
Hi Vivek.. Can you please make a part-2 of this video with further insight based on the following assumption - "Clay is unacceptable to many mothers and maintaining Iron is very difficult due to rust issue, if we leave those two options aside which metals among (Copper, Brass and Bronze) should be used for which kind of food?" For eg - Cooper is the best for storing water but it shouldn't be heated, so milk shouldn't be boiled in copper vessels right, but then why do people suggest to make rice in copper? What about Brass, it it best for boiling milk then? How is bronze for daily cooking, which one is better among brass and bronze for making dal or curries? There are a lot of questions like this. If you could answer these by making a video, it would be really helpful. I thank you in advance!

The nonstick coating is made from a chemical called PTFE, also known as Teflon, which makes cooking and washing up fast and easy. ... However, Teflon has been PFOA-free since 2013. Today's nonstick and Teflon cookware is completely safe for normal home cooking, as long as temperatures do not exceed 570°F (300°C). Bro u should add this details also in video

Non-stick coating generally doesn't last for more than a year or two. Slowly the non-stick coating fades and sticks to your food particles, which you eat. So if you are using Non-Stick pans better use it for a year or two and then change the pan. Our Indian families generally are Kanjus and wont change the pans so often, so better avoid it instead.
Hey @Fit Tuber, my mom has a question for you. She has been watching you for over a year and for this particular video, she has a question. Her question: You recommended cast iron for cooking and I believe in the olden days, people warned against using cast iron for cooking sour food such as lemons, tomatoes, etc. What do you think about this? Thanks.
Thanks a lot for this video ... I bought clay pot from the link given by you... I am really surprised to see how tasty it cooks and that too ... without loss of nutrients... Love your channel... 😀
Nowadays in clay also chemical are used. U told brass and bronze to b used but in this can we cook tomatoes. In mostly vegetable tomato is used. U r doing good work.
Hello, I have been a regular follower of your channel for about an year (precisely since the video you posted on edible oils :) ). Recently, I came across someone who suggested to use surgical steel cookware and warmed me of dangers in using aluminium cookware which we currently use at our home. But I found surgical steel cookware to be quite expensive. Then searched your channel and was happy to find this video. Based on your research, the best option is clay pot, then cast iron followed by brass and bronze. I seem to have some problem with each of these :) Problem with using clay pots is their delicate nature and the extra care we need to take in order not to break them. The problem with cast iron cookware is that they are heavy(not a big problem though) in general and I am not confident of identifying when and how to take care of them so that they don't rust. Rusted iron cookware will do more damage than the food cooked elsewhere. Similarly, I see that brass and bronze cookware is good but acidic food(tomato, vinegar, etc) shouldn't be cooked since they reacts with copper in them and is dangerous. Also as you said we should do "tinning" to these cookware to reduce the damage. Not sure when and how to do it. Also not sure if tinning is safe to do. I am looking for a cookware which is sturdy, safer, nutrition preserving with very low or zero maintenance (effort wise). Here, I would request you to educate me on which one of the above cookware to choose keeping the above things in mind.
Hi Vivek, have been following your videos recently, watched this video and I must say it was an eye opener. We are unable to try clay or bronze as of now and the best we can do is to get rid of non stick pots and pans and move to Stainless Steel. I was blown away by your detailed analysis which was very helpful and got to know about Mayer which claims to have zero nickel Stainless Steel. Since it's very expensive wanted to see if you could let us know if it's better than other stainless steel brands which are sold at half the price. Your suggestion would not just help me but also thousands of other people who are spending a lot keeping in mind their families' safety. Thanks!

The futura black color pressure cooker is made of hard anodized aluminum

Bdw its 100 degree celsius..

I'm thinking to buy cookware ,thanks i found this video. lovely bro.. you're doing good job. love from himalayas.
Hi Vivek.. Can you please make a part-2 of this video with further insight based on the following assumption -
"Clay is unacceptable to many mothers and maintaining Iron is very difficult due to rust issue, if we leave those two options aside which metals among (Copper, Brass and Bronze) should be used for which kind of food?"
For eg - Cooper is the best for storing water but it shouldn't be heated, so milk shouldn't be boiled in copper vessels right, but then why do people suggest to make rice in copper?
What about Brass, it it best for boiling milk then? How is bronze for daily cooking, which one is better among brass and bronze for making dal or curries?
There are a lot of questions like this. If you could answer these by making a video, it would be really helpful.
I thank you in advance!
You can cook rice in copper, it needs a tin coating that’s all
This was very informative, thank you. Though the statement about pressure cooker killing 90% nutrients is highly disputed.

Thanks.
Highly acidic foods should not be prepared in iron. That's what my grandma said.

Thanks!
