Your true fps is the number on the right hand side. So in reality you've only gained a few more frames. The first fps number is the "max possible fps", but it isn't showing your real-time fps. The right hand number is checking your fps and lag spikes in real-time and displaying it

I havent' looked in the video yet but another good way for boosting performance is using sodium with a couple other performance mods with it such as lithium. on my old computer, optifine made miencraft run worse, running 60 fps on 9 chunks when in vanilla it runs 60 fps on 12/13. with lunar client, I got 60 fps in 20 chunks, and with sodium and lithium and mods like that, I got a smooth 70 to 80 in 32 chunks.

well me, i went crazy and got a very simple texture pack so my chromebook would have to render less, render distance 4 chunks, a ton of chrome flags like hyper threading, gpu acceleration, and a bunch of other stuff. and the biggest one i did was i installed not optifine, but a mod called sodium which gives more fps than optifine but also a bunch of others similar to it like ferritecore and hydrogen which optimises memory usage, lithium which optimises game physics or mob ai. there's also indium which optimises rendering but it's still in the works so might get it later. also they're all fabric mods if ur interested. and after all that, i still have 20-30 fps average help me if u have ideas
Hey eevnos, I was wondering why I can't paste the Optifine file into my Linux Files folder, I don't have the downloads folder in my Linux Files either.
@@cos7uh I had this problem too. Just restart your chromebook and do it again. Edit: it doesn’t matter if you have the downloads folder or not, you just need to place it into your Linux file. Also before installing optifine you have to create a new world, and then save and quit, and then install optifine. You have to let the game run before installing optifine.
