My god look at the animation at the time, the framing, the choreography, the fluidity. I know Shippuden had some clean ass fights like Kakashi vs Obito but the way the POVs are here are legit so unique. Naruto's art direction was much better than Shippuden's imo.

In the end, Shippuden was very vanilla, there was a war, but almost no main characters had major reprisals. Though he didn't destroy the leaf, he's 2 for 2 on taking out Kage! • While Orochimaru seemed to have gotten the necessary remains to bring back Minato, I don't know if Hiruzen caused it to fail (I remember him being like, "If I let that 3rd coffin open, _it's over!"),_ or if it failed because Minato has his spirit sealed inside of his son (and how crazy would that have been, for Naruto to suddenly start feeling ill or start leaking nine-tails chakra, because his father was being pulled by the Jutsu, even if it had no chance of success because Minato's was the stronger seal)
• Recoil on horror at the idea of Orochimaru getting ahold of an 8 Gates user, and reanimating them! Infinite chakra and they don't die!? OP as hell! Thank goodness that the 8th Gate of Death dusts the user! And screw Orochimaru (and, by association, Tobirama) for making me _happy_ about that!
Edo Tensei only allows you to summon souls from the Pure World. Souls that are sealed (like the 4th Hokage's at the time) can't be summoned. Orochimaru just didn't know that the 4th was sealed at the time.
The real mvp here is whoever designed that roof. How did it withstand tons of water, soil, wood and so many impacts without losing structural stability??
Here reanimated hashirama and tobirama only had 20% of their real power , thus orochimaru could fully control them. But war arc reanimations got 90-100% of their full power.

It took the Kinkaku force with the sage of six paths legendary weapons, and 20 elite Jonin to overwhelm and defeat the second Hokage. It took old age (depleted chakra reserves), the first Hokage, the second Hokage, a prime Orochimaru, 4 out 5 of the sound five, and the sand village to kill the 3rd. The 3rd is the goat.
He was so scared of 4th Hokage joining the battle, because he knows he would get his ass whooped when he find out how he and other people treat Naruto.
Watching this the first time made sense. Watching it for the second time. This fight instantly ended the second lord 1st and 2nd were summoned. Theres a 0% chance as strong and as under rated as hiruzen was. Hashirama alone was on another level.

However it wasn't Hiruzen that stopped him from being revived through edo tensei. The technique didn't work because the reaper death seal prevented Minato's soul from escaping and being revived.
Yeah, but when Kishimoto was writing the story, he hasn't thought that deep yet. Hiruzen was more worried about Minato than the brothers. Later on it turns out Minato was the weakest and had the 9 tails cloak to even bring him up to par.

@@wilburweright1113 Okay, so we were both right it seams. I read up on it again and you were partially right. Minato was still in the reaper's stomach, but it was Minato in that coffin. However it wasn't Hiruzen that stopped him from being revived through edo tensei. The technique didn't work because the reaper death seal prevented Minato's soul from escaping and being revived.

Yeah, but when Kishimoto was writing the story, he hasn't thought that deep yet. Hiruzen was more worried about Minato than the brothers. Later on it turns out Minato was the weakest and had the 9 tails cloak to even bring him up to par.

@@8BitGamer4life minato is tied with tobirama on the 3rd place of strenght among the hokages, the ranking goes naruto-hashirama-minato and tobirama-hiruzen-tsunade-kakashi, hiruzen is only ever so sligthly weaker than tobirama and minato but still with a gap that didnt allow him to stop the 9 tails by hiruzens own words, minato did with ease after trashing obito quickly (remember that he died after he and kushina sacrificed themselves to protect naruto from the 9 tails while simultaneously sealing half of it inside him)
