    This is probably the 2nd most important book I think I'll ever read. I quote it in my daily life. I don't mean everyday, of course, but rather that I always find myself quiting this one.

    I’d be more scared it just a mere man was in one room and a tiger in another and I was asked to choose my fate. The tiger might kill me within the hour but the man could possibly torture me for twenty years or more, my body and mind. (Edited soul for mind)

    Too bad he didn’t stick around to hear about the mathematical and information-theory challenges to evolution now sweeping academia (and being squelched). Fact is, a ton of information was added during the cambrian explosion to the biosphere’s genome from the outside. There’s no way, with intellectual honesty, to get around that, and many impressive scientists at historically great institutions are not trying to. (Although some less sincere materialists ARE desperately trying to get around it, or simply trying to slander, censor, and silence others).

    CS Lewis was probably wrong about animal pain. I think I agree with George Macdonald's veiw that the animals will be raised to human level sentience
    Numbers 22 28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
    The animal is literally saying "I have had three pains"

    Tried reading book but got lost when he started with his evolution theory. I believe God and not man when it comes to the origins of man.

      So, if that is your position, I presume that you believe the entire universe is less than 7000 years old, that the Earth is the centre of the universe, that all languages in the world came into being on one afternoon at the Tower Of Babel, that rainbows have only existed for 4000 years and so on and so on

    This is pretty good but why would Lewis assume that man before sin was less intelligent than man after sin? Especially considering the debilitating affects sin has on mankind as a whole. I enjoy this man, I wonder what use God has for me to listen to his works as he tends to presume quite a lot, we do well not to stray from Gods revelation in His word

    • @fightingleaf
      @fightingleaf 3 роки тому +8

      He did not say they would be less intelligent as such. What he said was that, being our projenitors, they would not have figured out as many things as we have. It would technically be new to language, expression, crafting, and other things, so to us shallow, fallen beings, they would appear less intelligent, even if that appearance is an illusion.

    • @essyvlogger1097
      @essyvlogger1097 2 роки тому +3

      He said in that section that primitive man invented everything new and that is harder and takes more intelligence than building a better version than what has already been made. If their language, wheels, or pots and pans look more primitive than ours we might incorrectly assume they were less intelligent than us when actually they invented language and wheels and pottery before they existed and we did not. Which makes the original primitive wheel more impressive than our new rubber wheels because one had never been made before.
