    I have the tech 7’s and they’re by far the most comfortable thing I’ve wrapped around my feet, as well as provide protection. Absolutely love them.

    Got the leatte 4.5 boots. Second season riding them . Still in great condition. Supportive. Stiff at beginning of every ride but once warm are comfy. Got mine for 260.00 new. Buckles need wd40 every once in a while as i dont clean them or spray them off ever. Good boot tho

    I bought a pair of low end MSR boots, and I never felt safe in them. I decided to eat the cost and bought a pair of Alpinestars Tech 7s (after trying on a few different brands). I did need to readjust my shifter again, but they have been great. I haven't had any major crashes in them, but I've been hit by the foot peg a few times. My ankles and feet were worth the cost.

    I just picked up the Tech 7’s today. I have a wide foot and it feels great right out of the box. It feels good standing on the bike but look forward to getting some ride time in them. I also ordered a set of Leatt 5.5’s and am waiting on those to arrive so I can compare them.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Рік тому

      Nice! Both are great options. The 5.5 will be stiffer and feel a little heavier. But very supportive, pretty good peg feel, and something I notice is how good they grip the bike when you squeeze. - Chase

    Broke my fibula with Alpinestars tech7s drystar, got off my bike miss stepped on a rock and it just cracked my ankle as simple as that. Don't wear them to tight. Besides that comfortable and still think they're safe boots, I'm back at riding after 4 months and wearing them still. But, not as waterproof as they say, got my feet wet after 3 hours even with obt rain pants. Cheers from Baja!

    The new sidi looks a lot like the crossfire 2, which I've run all this past summer. It really makes your lower leg/foot feel protected, and they've held up super well. Only downsides I've found is they take some break in to be comfortable, they aren't super easy to get strapped into because the layers don't move against each other very easily, and they squeak when you walk. I'm super happy with them.

    • @OfficialChickenJoe
      @OfficialChickenJoe Рік тому

      Yeah I got the crossfire two back in March and I love how protective they are and the stiffness helps with big impacts but the grip of them on the inner side of the legs. I slide off the bike so much. The alpine stars have some leathery feeling grip that sticks to the graphics. That’s all I want on my crossfires

    Once again, when you say: "these boots are comfortable" show the foot shape of these boots and the shape of your feet. From my perspective, the Tech 7 have a very short and narrow forefoot part. I normally wear size 12, but even Tech 7 size 13, while being longer than my foot, is too narrow where my foot is the widest because, in addition to being narrow, it's the widest in a wrong place (too close to the front tip of the boot). The widest part should be about 20-25 mm farther to the back of the foot of these boots. And because other boots are even worse, I had to buy Tech 7 size 14, and I have to put some filling in a gap behind my heel (which is about an inch).

  • @tomskid27
    @tomskid27 2 дні тому

    Fox is comfortable and looks good, but quality is substandard. My boots just a month old with less than 20hrs of use had a strap break, and the glue/bond between the plastic and synthetic leather came undone. Also the rounded pointed end of the buckle concentrated pressure on your finger to where it will catch your finger nail. It should have been squared shaped. At 6 months the toe edge of the sole is coming unglued.

      Honestly, I haven't had issues with durability with any of my Fox boots. Kobee, one of our editors, has had a pair on Instincts for the last 1 1/2 years with lots of hours in them and he's had no issues that I'm aware of. The new Instinct 2.0 uses the same materials so I know the durability should be just as good. I've seen every premium boot have issues with durability and sometimes I think riders just get a bad apple. But for me, durability has been fine. - Chase

    I have spoiled myself with top shelf boots since i started riding moto, and im moving from fox instincts to tech 10s for the ankle support, and ive tried on the tech 7s and i just cant bring myself to wear them because they feel so cheap especially when compared to tech 10s, it almost feels like they have no protection at all and my foot moved around way too much it was like wearing hey dudes, and fox motions werent hardly any better, they were a bit tighter on the foot but the toe box was so large my foot was swimming in the boot even a size down. Maybe im too picky, maybe im on to something, im not sure, but i myself dont understand the hype behind the tech 7 when the 10s are a thing

    Tech7 for comfort SG-12 for support. Cant fit a normal or wide foot in Sidi. Only gripe on the Tech7 is the soles wear out way to fast. I can ruin a pair in less than 5 hours riding. Only the left boot. Ive gone through 5 or 6 pairs. Tired of paying to have them resoled for it to happen again. The SG-12 soles last a bit longer not much. Anyone else experiencing this type of accelerated sole wear?

    Hello everyone. As a beginner motorcyclist, I am trying to find a balance between not compromising on solid gear to ensure I have a safe foundation on the road, and not going overboard by buying things I won't need. I want a Honda Rebel 500 as my first bike, so nothing rebellious here. I guess I would have an urban style, but at the same time, safety is my priority over style and everything else. I understand these are very high-quality and high-performance boots. Is this what is needed for all riding styles for optimal safety, or is this more for motorcyclists who actually go off-road or are 'extreme' riders? All tips and knowledge are welcome.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Місяць тому +1

      These types of boots wouldn't really be ideal for a Honda Revel. Off-road boots are build to support the ankle during impacts and protect against twisting when a rider put their leg on the ground. Many companies like Alpinestars, Revi't! , Dainese etc., make boots that have a modern style but built with full grain leather, reinforced toe caps, and other protective features. I would look into some of those.
