Tips from my experience : 1. Stop buying things from the internet at midnight 2. Finish or Fully consume the old before purchasing new. 3. Wait a few days before buying that thing. (Usually the urge goes away)
I have settled with my salary a couple of years ago. Every raise I put a side, so I "earn" least at work but save most. Really nice to live frugal. Thank you for a great video.
Thank you on behalf of all adhd subscibers for easy reference! hope you have a great day. people like you make utilizing what i learn from videos so helpful
Man I have to say that every time I watch a video of yours I get a spark of motivation. Your content actually helps me see things in a way I didn’t see before.
To save money I like to plunder the backlog. I have an archive of books, games and blu-rays I haven't touched since I bought them. Don't let buying entertainment be the only entertainment.
We can’t all be Seto Kaiba, so these are great tips for all of us that are not 😊 My current favorite money saving method is the “use it up”. This is especially effective for me with food/groceries. I can’t buy condiments, salsa, or whatever it may be until what I have I completely used up. Once it is used up, I either try and make my own (like salad dressing, tortillas, and snacks) or I can only buy 1 of that item type. I will admit though, if it is a staple item that I cannot make I stock up when it’s on sale, so I’m not totally anti-duplicate. 😅 Good luck out there friends!
Not only do I love the appealing visuals in videos and the theme of the channel, I also find them very relaxing, watching them helps me find peace of mind. Thank you, Nicholas
To me, It depends on the career and company you work in. If you are talking about restaurants who rely on tips to pay their employees then I agree. Here in California the minimum wage now in 2024 is $16/hrs and if you search online some entree level jobs(cashier, janitor, kitchen helper) offer $20/hrs.
@@davidborovsky2877Wages are only half of the equation. Of course wages are higher than they’ve ever been but they are not keeping up with inflation and the cost of living. The wage and cost of living gap is higher than it’s ever been.
@@davidborovsky2877The majority of credit card debt is wants over needs. It's not for an emergency or essentials. I work in finance and we see what they're charging.
I actually agree with your "used" idea. I have recently got myself a PC that's used and refubrished from Amazon just because of this reason... in 1/3rd of the of original price and I'm very happy with my decision. Thank you for highlighting this friend.
Using the thrift store is great ❤ I love being able to find really good clothes or any items from these stores, I was able to save a lot of money by buying used items. 😊
Love your channel, we’re focusing on paying off a 30 yr mortgage in 5 yrs instead, so I love the inspiring videos you share! Thank-you for keeping it real! ❤
Nicholas, excellent content as always but we need more digital minimalism videos too man. You touched on that concept a long time ago but we need more of them.
It probably is very possible to build an entire wardrobe of high quality clothes using sites like Poshmark, if you are patient and know your size in brands that are consistent. I've bought several essentially brand new Brooks Brothers dress shirts over there, which retail over $100 for like $30 or whatever. I check/update my budget spreadsheet for 10 minutes every morning, which I think is less of a burden and keeps you more on track than only looking every few weeks. It is fun to build a system that works for you and to tweak it over time, at least for some obsessive dorks.
The most useful tip for that I never considered is the buffer zone. Stupidly simple lol. I definitely am guilty of trying to create a fixed budget for fluctuating expenses like groceries for example . So for necessities like that, it's definitely best to just overprepare like you said to avoid dipping into those savings
I always enjoy how you imagine different ways to invite us to suscribe, a different one for each video! Then you make a small pause before continuing lol
Great tips, I really like the idea of a buffer zone, but what do you do when you don't reach the buffer zone, saves that money or adds to the next month; because it is a great idea to save money month to month without realizing.
My bank offers a feature where all of my payments and purchases are rounded up automatically and the difference is stacked on my savings account. There’s another feature that automatically invests this extra money so it has a chance to grow even more

Thought provoking and enjoyable, as always. Thanks Nick. Got a kick out of the little visual easter eggs and especially seeing Kitty!! Editing is right on point, as well.
Love your content, Nick! Definitely one of my favorite channels by a mile. I have recently trialed living with a Light Phone 2, and have loved it! Curious if you have given it a try, or are willing it make a video on it! Curious your thoughts, especially now as they have revealed the Light Phone 3. I bet some of your viewers would find a great benefit to it. Thanks for all you do!

@@NicholasGarofola They do have a maps too, I’ll admit its pretty poor if you’re using it as a turn my turn because of the E-Ink screen. The problem is these damn wages don't pay enough, Nicholas. Most people really don't have a spending problem like everyone makes it seem
Lmao...real wages in the US are for the most people the highest they have ever been. Especially for the people in the lowest percentiles.
