A simple change to add some minute usefulness to the pets would be great so that our care in tending to them gets rewarded. Each one can have a different small use/buff that they can provide. For example, maybe the wargling can go and fetch 1 item (only) per day from the base, etc. Right now they are just nuisance and not worth it.
Im loving the challenge runs, very creative and fun. Also always better to hear voices on any dst video that isnt a guide In my opinion. I like you hate pets with all my heart, and have adopted like 2 in all my carrer on this game. I cant stand the whining. Anyways keep up the challeng runs, very entertaining.
If they didn't beg for food, I would adopt them cause they are cute. It's why I like Woby a lot; she doesn't cry but instead makes cute barking noises sometimes.
@@LakhnishMonster Yep can agree. Haven´t played woby enough to apreciate the non crying company. Even on my 2000+ day worlds, I can´t be bothered to get a whiny little piece of-
I feel like all pets should have a unique trait that makes them ideal, I made a reddit post on ideas about it a while ago and some people agreed, well fed pets should give a slight hunger drain decrease to the player, scrappy pets should increase damge or resistance a bit, playfull pets should offer a slight sanity buff, slowing sanity drain or increasing the sanity regen rate of items, allies, and other sources, and crafty pets should increase the crafting speed and mining/chopping slightly, these alone would make pets more usefull, but as well as that, I feel pets shoul have abilities tied to their species, the mothling grants infinite light, but not a lot, it should increase the duration of light sources held by the player and/or increase the light radius, the broodling should make feuling items more efficient, whether it be generators, firplaces, or possibly increasing campfire/crockpot cooking speeds, giblet should increase bird spawn rates/decrease aggro range from tallbirds, vargling should decrease hound aggro range/decrease hound aggro time as well, making late game hound waves easier to handle, ewelett should give increased temperature insulation, friendly peeper should grant a larger view, there are mods that allow toggling view area, but console players don't get that, so it would be nice, glom glom should make it so the player gains naughtiness faster, making farming krampus faster, and the kittykit should make it so you fish faster AND make catcoons neutral to monster players (wortox and webber) the unique species perks and the tendencys perks would both be active and would only be active so long as your pet isn't hungry, this would make it so its not a permanant buff, and not broken, but still something worth going out of your way to get, crafting/cooking speed buffs, and damage increase/reduction buffs would also stack with armor, and natural players damage/resistance modifiers, making for example willow, warly, and walter VERY fast cookers, wanda, wolfgang, and wigfrid would be even better for fighting, the insulation from the ewelett could help balance willows disadvantage in winter, or compound with bearded characters extra winter insulation, making it even easier to survive with just a beard and thermal stone, and probably many other combos making it 150% worth it to spend the time getting the one you want
Fun speedrun!
hi
Hi jakey
i demand for saladmander to be added as a pet
as for changes, a slight sanity aura around them would be nice
yess the saladmander is so adorable!!
I would love if the pets actually had some small bonus to them like the mothling
Yeah i like that idea
They actually are more annoying instead of being useful
The constant sound they make 😖
@@Meatball63 yeah thats kinda... semi-useful, maybe if you're Wigfrid and don't have Mothling or the Eye Mask which you can feed too
you have the most interesting dst channel

This speedrun is such a dumb concept.
I love it!
You might´ve already thought of this one as you mentioned you had more run ideas in your second video, but Pearl´s Pearl run could be fun.
This is a cool and creative one! I just wish pets actually did something. (Besides mothing.) But honestly my favourite pet is the ewfulet
They do now. Counts as a friend around to reduce Wolfgang's sanity drain.
@@greoryryryryryr i didn't know that.. Awesome! Solo wolfgang then has a way to reduce the drain
And now you get to do it again finding all the kitcoons
My favorite pet is the vargling

Fantastic idea!
Huh. Could be a good idea for challenges with friends 🤣
Would be cool if klei did a pet revamp

Who knew anyone would rush pets. Nice idea :)
Really cool run! I had fun watching!
eye mask > pets, nice run.
I wish pets could bring you gifts and cuddle you
I would love pet versions of the bosses
2 days ago got the winter skin for the catcoon pet, i believe in his supremacy
Bruh what
I would like no collision for them
I would definitely adopt a pet if they were at least slightly useful. . .
a "Prototype everything" run? (stuff learned from blueprints doesn't count)
I will have to think about it, but I don't see myself doing this as it doesn't seem too interesting unfortunately.
There is law that says to not feed them
