Description:
I didn't think I would ever bother with TNT again, but I figured I'd do a quick run without putting too much effort into it and include the new trick I discoverd some months ago. The new trick is on map 10 which starts at 12:00, saves almost a minute. Lost a lot of time on map 17,18 and 21 due to some dumb mistakes, also a lot of maps could have gone faster.
Video freezes a few seconds into map 06, I don't know why, but nothing interesting happened so I'll leave it.

I was just laughing at Map17, how you were trying to squeeze through the red bars and the monsters were interrupting you. It was like "Piss off, I'm trying to squeeze through these bars!". BTW Why did you do that rocket jump at the start of Map25? I kinda don't understand what exactly did that do.
the rocket jump on Map 25 skips a huge section of the map and goes straight to the end/exit switch.
Well, I noticed that, but how does it work? What does it trigger? What does he fly over with that rocket jump? Because as far as I know after that short starting tunnel there's that circle room with the teleporter in the middle.
There's a linedef that if I cross it then the wall to the room just next to the exit switch closes. Usually you can skip a linedef by simply going at least 16 units per tic\frame if it is in the west or south direction. This linedef is north and also kind of at an angle so usually that requires at least twice the speed, which is what the rocket is for.

One of the few channels I read the description on before watching the video. I might actually enjoy the description more than the video. Well done again zero. I always found TNT to be one of the harder wads. The map design is just..not good. Plutonia is harder but much better designed imo

can someone explain me how to do the rocket jump skip on level 25 that he does at the start of the level and then the exit is already open? i get the part that you skip the area trigger that closes the door or something but i've been messing around a good 2 hours with it with the brutal doom mod (i've seen someone else do it i know it's possible) but i wasn't able to do it not even ONCE, do you need to mouse forward to clip inside the wall barely or something? i have no idea

Hey. I have a question for anyone who might come across this. Why do people dislike this WAD so much? Most of the time, it's completely ignored by speedrunners.
I think they ignore it because it's to damn big and tedious. The enemies are a pain in the ass and so are the bigs maps. I love TNT but i gotta admit: Half of the maps that i most despise in the Doom Franchise are in TNT.

Grillsen while I’d cannot confirm nor deny the oculus rift (probably not), I’m very sure he is a mouse player. He uses the mouse for turning, firing, and for forward/backwards movement when doing glides. I am not sure if he uses keyboard and/or mouse for his sr50’s.
alright cool. It was kind of hard to tell if he was using mouse or keyboard but i guess it makes sense that he uses mouse
mouse, if you go to the DSDA youtube channel and look for SAV88 or TheV1perK1ller (who are keyboarders) you'll see it's not too hard to tell since turn speed is nearly constant and a bit slower.

Engine quirk - when you're moving, the game checks for interactions with objects (like picking up a key) according to your hypothetical next frame position rather than the current position. If you're moving fast enough that given no obstacles you'd grab the key in the next frame, you can grab the key despite it being behind a wall. See also Ultimate Doom's E4M1 key grab (and many, many others).

I expect most sourceports to replicate that glitch, just like for example wallrunning.

It is called wall run. It is not a hack. All the speedrunners use this trick, you can search for it.
