I grew up in both Upper Edmonton(N18) and Lower Edmonton(N9) between 1989 to 1998 and I also lived in Cockfosters (EN4) for a year between 1993 to 1994. What great memories of living in Edmonton back in the 1990s.
Yep...I think it might have been JOV752P, that first one. It just isn't right if an early Ailsa doesn't absolutely scream its head off. The third and last one is great, I think it's either JOV742 or 747P. 🙂
Yes, the new bus station was reopened in 2007 I believe, I have photos taken in 2005 of buses standing / picking up on the road whilst the bus station was being redeveloped in to what it is now
The thing is that I moved North London at 2005 I still go there now and again just too look through the window In a car I lost all the parts that has changed in it
Because they completely did the road design rubbish I feel sorry for larger cars and that And staff happening too Plus in ponders end the long streatch of road a design of a zerbera Crossing at the Conor of the weather spoon pub till they change the name I think there is a black and red zebra crossing design I'd never seen a design like that before I blame the highway maintenance when it should be like a original zebra crossing design black and white
@@Giuseppe1299 Yes I agree, the road design now looks appalling so unnecessary for their to be more traffic lights in the E Green area, as it causes more air pollution from halted cars. Ponders End ain't any better too. Edmonton, Ponders End & Turkey Street are one of the most deprived areas in London.
Am not being horrible or mean or anything 🤔 I just blame the Enfield county council it's down too them too sort things out with the highway maintenance Knowing Enfield county council they probably won't because it's been like that for a couple or a many years now
Ah man I grew up just in this area and these were the good old days, emphasis on good.
Sadly times have changed, and not for the better.
Why did they redo the area in 2005?
Made the bus station bigger
I used to walk over that bridge as a teenager 🥳 thirty years ago. Happy days👍🏽
Yes indeed
That spiral walkway is the one used in 'Some Mother's do ave em' - Frank went down it on roller skates.
Yes, very famous that location!
You've made my day discovering that bit of history. I grew up there

Don't think they had it then! Lol.
That first ex WM Ailsa seemed almost silent. I’ve not heard one not scream before. A sound very much missed!
Indeed! Lol.

Prefer the archive footage hope to see more.Keep up the good work.
Unfortunately I didn't film too much years ago, hopefully a few more yet.
I'm 10 years old in Edmonton, going to the Arcades in the Shopping Centre. Back when Edmonton was great to live in.
It was far better then, certainly.
I was gutted they got rid of that the walkover bridge and spiral staircase Frank Spencer was a hero of mine when I was a child
It was a good spot to film from
Many years later on how times change they did a whole new construction build in the late 2010 or early 2007

What was the route 922
Mobility bus, adapted for wheelchairs in the days before low floor buses.
@@BristolRE Where did the route go to?
@@zekrem I've no idea, there was a whole network of them across London.
@@zekrem It went all over, from Enfield to Hackney i think.
