He sure is and each one of them were just super talented and absolutely amazing! Still can't believe Benjamin isn't here with us anymore. And Ric, too.
That was awesome! So nice to really see David and Greg. They didn’t get shown near as much. Kudos to the cameraman. They were all were rocking it for sure! And EE’s solo was awesome as well.
There is a really long version on the live recording in Missouri. I think Elliott's lead break goes around 12 times from a rough count. Ric just lest Elliott take over and finish when he wants to. Superb playing ua-cam.com/video/5htomxJ0Jwk/v-deo.html
People like to single out performers, but actually every player in this band is great and essential to the legendary sound of The Cars. Try imagining the sound after cutting out one of them... it falls flat.
I've loved the Cars since 1978 and love them more today. I've heard their music and variations of it , but when they did their variation of one of their songs that EE knew was my favorite, (dangerous type)it was so great it almost brought tears and I've sat and played one of BBKing's guitars in front of BB.
rick no fue egoista a todos le dio su lugar a Ben le dio canciones que cantara muy hermosas los dos tenian voces muy increibles y el producto de su fama fue la unidad que tenian todos en el grupo por la humildad rick ocasek
And that is so fucked up , because without anyone of them , they are not the cars! But doing benjamin dirty like that makes me extremely angry. And what makes me even more angry is how a certain someone came into the picture , caused a bunch of chaos like yoko ono , and destroyed the greatest band ever and everyones life!
@@kittensanddaisies5615 he was a wonderful human being . Even though I have been in love with Benjamin since I'm 9years old , I wish I was 10 years older than I am so I could have seen them live. Being so young when they started out made me miss it all.
Funny, The Cars pioneered computers in music following Kraftwerk. Those funky synths from Greg Hawkes are computer sounds. They just show there is a way to do it right.
If I hadn't seen a brief glimpse of Ben during this performance, I'd have thought he had already passed away. No wonder he & Ric grew apart in the later years. It seems Ric became the leader & face of The Cars & Ben was kind of relegated to the background. Sad
Man, David's drumming is absolutely killer in this performance
But where the hell in Ben Orr?
@@tb9489 i was watching for Ben and finally saw him briefly at 3:00 min.
I believe David quit drums 1 year later in 1988 when they broke up.
@@operasinger2126You mean he quit playing drums at all?
@@peterbilt-bo1vy He came back for the last album and subsequent reunion
Fcking fantastic here. Doesn't get any better than this. #Philadelphia rocks like no other town either. EE's guitar playing is top notch.
My favorite Cars tune ! Elliot is the real deal !👍
He sure is and each one of them were just super talented and absolutely amazing! Still can't believe Benjamin isn't here with us anymore. And Ric, too.
My fave Cars song. I grew up listening to these guys, and they INVENTED New Wave!
Back when we had bands instead of brands
You are 110% correct. Niiiice.
Los cars dejaron musica para el futuro4000000
That was awesome! So nice to really see David and Greg. They didn’t get shown near as much. Kudos to the cameraman. They were all were rocking it for sure! And EE’s solo was awesome as well.
ELLIOT!! And if they couldn't show us Ben at least we got to see lots of David for once. Hated for this one to end
The cameraman sucks!

@@eamonstafford2056 yes! Thanks for sending me back to that performance!!
To think these guys were near break up at this point live they were their most powerful .
Great version with extended solo from Elliot.
December 2022 I love them right from the get-go. Rip Benjamin. Philadelphia USA

what everyone is complaining about is the video work. Its bad
@@johnmcgovern6330 and that's being kind . The cameraman should be blacklisted!
Once Benjamin Orr passed.....they all died. It was a complete conglomerate of FIVE.
Like the Beatles.
@@dianegargano175 not sure its the cameraman. It is the producer who needs a swift kick.
EE is a true guitar hero.
I Agree 100 Percent.

Spectacular Version.!!!!
Great song. One of my favs. Unfortunately, not enough Ben in the video, though. :'{
Hes not in one shot!
As much as I love Ben. The stars of this song are undeniably David and Elliot. That drumming and those guitar solos man.
Great song and i agree that Elliot and David were awesome, but very disappointing to only see Ben very briefly at 3:00
my first concert with my dad. I was 12.
There are no weak links in this band! Just phenomenal playing
Elliott is a beast.
One of the cars best live versions ever !!! RIP. Ric...you'll be missed but not forgotten.
Elliot, Greg, and David own the last minute
Yeah🤟🏼an awesome band…loved them🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Greg Hawkes is amazing!
One of the best!
one of their best
What I found interesting for the Philadelphia tour videos is Ben is barely shown. It looks like they are trying to down play his role in the band.
“They” being ric? I think I saw the top of bens head a couple of times.

That's exactly what was happening . I don't like Benjamin being mistreated!

No Ben & No Ric = R.I.P. Cars
I seen many concerts when i was younger but never the cars 😢
Drumming is nice

Epic, hair raising 🎉🎉🎉Their singularly shining hour live 🎉🎉🎉 my favorite song by anyone anytime 🎉🎉🎉
My favorite go-to crowd-pleaser song to sing at Friday Karaoke Night at The Rim of The World Sports Bar in Top Town Crestline!
Mr. Easton started off with The Cars as a great guitarist and moved into legendary territory.
Wow, just wow
Favorite!
❤rock rick.
Eliot makes it at the end.
increible grupo
Eliot just amazing as always
Back in the day they had instruments and real people writing good lyrics. Today computers. Sorry if I sound old ..... BUT
Funny, The Cars pioneered computers in music following Kraftwerk. Those funky synths from Greg Hawkes are computer sounds. They just show there is a way to do it right.
Lousy camera work and shabby sound.
Hey man at least it got recorded
What's the point of they aren't all shown. It's almost as bad as the official magic video!
@@dianegargano175 We are all gonna be DEAD soon enough just like Ric and Ben...I'm 70 and waiting for the final BELL!! 🤣🤣😂
BIG O is the only one who could sing this correctly
EE with an epic wig!!!
EE def wears wigs as well as Ric. Both bald.
god damn!

The Spectrum was a cool place to see a concert, but the acoustics weren't always so good.
The amazing basically invisible bass player. 😡
Why do they always concentrate on the drummer how boring! Where’s Elliot and Ben?
much prefer pacing of original version. this sounds rushed.
Oh no the work of EE makes this the best. The solo at the end is epic.
