A really instructive lesson. So many nuggets of wisdom for us rec players, and gratifying to see that a former tour player makes the same mistakes as us - lack of patience, lack of spin, poor movement. Hope for us all. But impressive to see Nick play well within himself and make only one error, remainder of points given to him from unforced errors. Watch and listen.

I find myself in a similar situation as Ema after hitting a big serve and the opponent hits a return to my backhand and I get kind of stuck on my feet and end up playing an emergency shot instead of being in position to hit a quality shot.... I think it's mostly mental, just get in my head that I need to prepare and take a step back after the serve instead of waiting to see where the ball lands. I don't know, I'm still trying to figure it out.

I was never really that fit but played sports thoughout my childhood always hating the obligatory warmup and training runs. That said I was an avid juniors player and never thought tennis was a cardio intensive sport. I could pick up the racket anytime and play hard for few hours even after not playing for a year or two and not think anything of it probably into my late 30's. Now I'm in my mid 40's and I feel the pain after a long rally and have to think twice before turning on my afterburner for to chase that iffy ball bc I don't want to be gassed our for rest of the game, or set, or match. Age catches up with the best of us. I played hard during end of covid and technically I'm better than ever but my physical fitness is my ceiling to reaching upper 4.5 - 5.0 level.

Her issues are: She does not get off the baseline. When she hits a fh or bh cross court and has nick having to reach for, she should be charging the net. She needs a one hand put away volley at the net, the 2 hand will never work, no time, she needs to catch the ball at the net. Her first serve is accurate but too slow, yes accuracy is way better, but her first serves will allow the opponent to return inside the baseline and they will all return a deep crosscourt and the velocity will be too much for her to return, or she will then be way out of position if she does get to the ball and the point will be over soon after. She also cannot just pass the ball back to the opponent.

@@shipwreck8847 Yeah I like watching matches, that is entertainment. I wouldn't expect most coaches, and they are mostly older, to play matches that well anyway. Watching coaching videos is for learning, but some of his students are entertaining.

@@formica. Yeah, but I think Nikola would wreck a lot of good players. That's what I want to see and also want to see the players that gives him trouble. He's good player. Unlike Ian Westermann who is a good coach, but not good player.
