Hi bro, I found this fascinating. I have passed that burial mound at Kingstanding hundreds of times whilst traveling from near Lichfield on through Shenstone, past Sutton Park, through Kingstanding and then into Aston visiting an old mate. I can't believe I never knew about this. How long did it take to walk from there to the Beacon? It's beautiful up there with lovely views. My gran said when they were kids they would walk from Small Heath up to the beacon for a picnic! Take care and thanks for sharing this. ✌
Hey GPE! Thank you, so nice to hear from you. Isn't it amazing, I stumbled across it on Google Maps a few weeks ago and I was like wtf :-/ Mate, it was insane, it took 5 minutes to get to the Deer's Leap and another 10 minutes to get to the Beacon, up Doe Bank Road. You wouldn't believe how close they are to each other. The next bit completely blew my mind. It's such a shame my camera ran out. The old quarry is such a nice wood now with loads of criss-crossing trails. When I saw the signpost to Merrion's Wood I couldn't believe it. Everywhere was really muddy and one of my trainers sank all the way in, wish I'd filmed that bit too. Really hoping we get to do this again on a warm dry day very soon :-)) Thank you so much! Take care.
@@Bangford brilliant. Cheers, I will definitely have a nose up that way in the coming months. As you say, its surprising how close they are. All the best 👍
As you say … who knew … thank you for the video
Thank you Sue! I'm still surprised :-)) There should be a gift shop.
