We left the UK for South Africa 17 years ago and even then say over 20 years ago if we had the misfortune of driving through Handsworth it was disgusting then.
I moved to China nearly 24 years ago and, honestly, it is far cleaner and safer than England. I've seen many parts of China, the good and the not so good, but it just doesn't compare to England. My brother in law lives in a council flat here and the area is immaculate. A private gated compound, shopping centres, restuarants, schools and, well.... everything.
I lived in South Africa for a year with work - and no where in the UK is worse than South African townships...not just litter and crime- accepted rape, murder, corruption....
We best not scream too much about it though otherwise we'll get accused of being racist or xenophobic. What a load of bollocks. We are literally giving people a free pass to do what they like in fear of upsetting the minority. This country needs to grow a backbone
I live in Brum. The truth of the matter is. It's mainly the areas with a large Asian community is where you see this. But, there's also other factors. The lower the rent, the worst you get. Drugs, drink and apathy go hand in hand.
The councils sold all the tips to private corporations and now you need a permit to go there if you have a van and have to pay. What used to go to the tip for free now gets dumped and the council take it to the tip.
I grew up in brum, there have always been areas Id avoid. This is clearly one where the people neglect their properties and local surroundings. Thankfully there are nicer areas in the city where people do care a bit more.

Ladypool road was lovely back in the 60s and 70s.then the foreigners arrived.
It's the Muslim community there. No pride in the neighbourhood or respect. You see the same with the parking and driving too... They just do what they want with no regards for others.
@honestplaces you know the reason why though...
The local residents who are essentially foreigners from "Asia" do not communicate with their council or each other, regarding crime and litter and upkeep. As the old saying goes "They would probably walk over a dead body before taking the time or even considering they have a sense of duty to report it". Western style of culture has always had a system in place that instills A SENSE OF DUTY to report and communicate such issues. Asia not so much at all. So, yes, the locals are to blame. From what I see, all the garbage and fly tipping happen in areas where Asian businesses flourish. You must call it out as you see it. Do not allow them to insult your community.
Never miss an opportunity 😂😂😂😂
