    I built my own dryer last year, I build live edge tables and repair power tools, I remember working on a saw mill about 40 years ago and the old guy who own the mill came in one week end and painted every moving tool RED, and the log turner was one of the things he painted, never met a log I didn't like, grown and cut in the USA, if anything has happen about covid-19 is that we have learned something, and it is time to start acted on it, Made in the USA we could bring back millions of job back to this country. even in lumber, cut on my friends, wash your hands and stay safe, thanks again for a great vid.

    That machine sings now! It was so cool that you cobbled it together and used it before all the repairs so that we can hear the difference between a worn mill & a beautifully rebuilt one. The carriage rides those rails like a new rail car now. It just sounds so smooth. That engine hums too. She sounds like a happy bee. Always a thrill to watch master tradesmen working at their craft. Thanks for a other great video.

    There is NOTHING like watching a sawing video by Mark Galicic with THE Eddie Horvath! Thank you for brightening my day! That is one nice log turner! I could never imagine having a mill where I would have to manually turn logs! Too much work! Happy Easter to you, Eddie and your families!

    I just now (10-19-2022) found this "movie" as John Clark says, and the difference with camera work and more important the sawing is very satisfying to see. An oldie but a goodie! Also glad you both survived the epidemic, and now we have ZZ Mark!

    Mark, the log Turner works really good now, I still wish I could smell the aroma of fresh cut lumber and also the sound of the saw singing,
    You can hear it slightly, but it's nothing like being there in person to appreciate all the sounds, sights and aromas that go with a sawmill.

    Mark, you probably would never get the chance to saw a Ponderosa Pine log, kinda tough when it grows out west, lol but I like all the logs you DO get to saw, that's why I like your videos so much, one of the reasons is because I am so mechanically minded and over curious about a lot of things. You and Eddie are doing a great job.
    I know I've asked you this before, but I'm in the market for a well built, solid wood 4 or 5 drawer Dresser, most places I've tried all they have is particle board, but I'll keep looking

    You mentioned adding a kiln and a shipping container. Ramp dirt on sides of container to hold the heat leaving front and back accessible for loading and heater hookup lines for fuel, add one of those cast iron radiant tube ceiling heaters like they use in the garden section of almost every Walmart. you can get the burner assembly for about $400 and the tubes about $50 a section and to save money some run on waste oil then add salvaged furnace fans to circulate the air through the lumber stacks. (Kiln on a budget) Add a 500 or 1000 gal oil tank (check your local zoning) and let your neighbors know they can dump waste oil from their cars and you can heat your kiln for free.

We're fine here and sure hope all yall are too, BUT the whole world is going straight to hell in a hat box, looks like. The worse part is that it's going to get that even if you mind your OWN business, everybody around will HELP you mind yours and snitch on every little thing. Getting goofier by the second. Our son-in-law is the head surveyor on a big development/golf course job and there was a landscaper came in wearing a mask and gloves, trying to see what he needed to do. I'd like to see him do hard labor with that garb on and not vapor lock. Beats all I've EVER witnessed. So yall remain calm and just stay hid. We will and GBWYall! Have you thought about getting 2 containers , cut the backs out but them together weld them up Yes a tunnel killem , then rollers on the floor and line the sides to prevent the od stick from gaming the pallet in the tunnel . All so using pallets would give you the under flow of hot air escentual for drying timber , Hope this idea helps ,

    Is there a location on the bus motor for you to add a hydraulic pump to power the sawdust blower? Seems like it would be better to utilize the bus motor for power instead of buying gasoline plus now that the wall hides the sawdust blower you wouldn't really know when blower runs out of fuel.
    Or can you add to the hydraulic pump that already exists to power the blower?

    Just my opinion, but you should tip your camera down a hair more to catch more of the log entering the blade. A little less sky and more about sawing. Thx
    Btw, log turner looks great!

    Is there not a higher value for rift or quarter sawn stock there Mark? It seemed you purposely cut higher amounts of flat sawn out of these?

  • @lordrbf5893
    @lordrbf5893 4 роки тому

    I just can't wait for the next video you make. I saw on another site that they had a saw very similar to yours, but it also contained a vertical cutter that allowed them to cut board vertically before they ran it through the horizontal saw blade. They ended up with a board without the bark. It was between the controller and the loading rack. Is this available for your saw?

    I hope I never go through another week like last week as I cried hard for the friends I lost. Two were corona 19, and one traffic fatality. One was a guy who refused to be tested and had been putting off going to be tested. He waited too long and it was hard. The next tho is one that will need to be discussed. This friend worked at home depot, he stood six foot four and in good health, he was sixty three. He didn't feel well tuesday and they sent him home to be safe. He got home and felt better but next morning calls his son in law and says will you take me to the auto store as I need some parts for my truck. His son in law is also a friend an prince of a guy. He told him yes he would but why wasn't he working? He told them that he didn't feel well tuesday so they sent him home to get tested. So dad, did you get ahold of the doctor. Not yet but will get my truck fixed and go then. Dad, call the doctor now and I am going to call too. If your sick then your putting your daughter and our kids at risk... dad said your right, I will, i wasn't thinking straight and they hung up on each other. that was already in the evening hour so son calls him and said what is the doctor saying. Oh I will be okay till tomorrow and I can come in at the morning hour. Son talks to daughter and said dad ain't making sense like he normally is, he sounds confused, we better get ahold of the doctor and find out more right now, we can't risk the kids either. So doctor said that "Dave had called to make a appointment" and he told the doctor that he thought his dad was sounding confused. So the ambulance is dispatched an he met them at dads with his wife in their car. Dave doesn't answer the door so he unlocks it an he and ambulance crew go in. Here is Dave in bed, he had past away in his sleep and did look content...... From tuesday, then wednesday and thursday death is caused from corona 19. I know i messed part of this up as the way an how time did get by but dead in three days is solid.. That was quick for someone who was just never sick, they lived in the Edmonton area of canada. I would have to think he did contact it through a customer as they have snow yet and it really isn't a high tourist area. This family is torn up and the what if's and what not, a very close family who the son in law did do the right thing and get the doctors involved. I really LIked Dave and will miss him. He was a very kind man who generally showed using common sense more

      Morgan Adair sorry for your loss. My brother told me a story the other day. Lady goes to Boston to visit ,goes out to eat, comes home ,doesn’t feel good, calls work and they say come on in,at work she tells her boss she is not feeling well, the boss says just stay, about a day or Two she gets tested and finds she is infected.
