I’ve watched many Day of the Dead educational videos, and I have to say this was the best one. Very informative! I loved how you broke down all of the symbology meanings (and why they exist). Thank you for this excellent video.

The narrator did an excellent job of explaining the significance of Dia de Los Muertos. I absolutely enjoyed all the graphics, pictures, and examples of the ofrendas. Thank you.

Undoubtedly, this is a first-rate video about Mexican culture with amazing information everybody should learn. Not to mention the outstanding and gorgeous illustrations with breathtaking special effects. It is also a highly resourceful piece of art for teachers who like their students to understand and appreciate Mexican traditions. I was impressed by the amount of information I didn´t know about my own culture. It is a truly enlightening documentary video you can´t miss.

Muy simple , les da flojera investigar . Un buen mexicano sabe lo que significa la tradición desde niños y no necesita de un extranjero con algunas inconsistencias en su relato para saber pero bueno ..por cierto existen libros que te explican el significado .

Being a retired technology specialist for a school system I agree teachers should show this! But most schools will not allow UA-cam on their servers.
So teachers should find a way to down load and put on computer to show!

    Thank you!
My husband is Mexican and we celebrate dia de Los muertos.
He was 17 when he came over to the usa so his memories of the celebration are only what he saw his mom do.
I did manage to find Copal❤️

This was extremely informative and well put together! A lot of these facts I independently knew but never understood just how they all connected when it came to dia de muertos. I feel like I just took an entire 100 level university course in one video. I am definitely glad you gave me your information when I ran into you at the gas station this evening, you've made a subscriber out of me!

Thank you very much for your comment. I will always remember my visits to Janitzio and the small towns around lake Pátzcuaro for the Día de muertos. Actually, some of the footage in the Day of the Dead video in the Addendum playlist was recorded in those towns. 😃 Thank you very much for your support!

The day of the dead goes back 3500 years and the Aztecs founded their city in 1325 AD. While the Aztecs contributed to the celebration, the day of the dead celebration doesn't start with them. The chicanos and pochos (I just assume because of your accent) always get that confused, and it is understandable. Look up Xantolo, the indigenous name for the day of the dead.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comment and for adding interesting information to the content addressed in the video. Your contribution is greatly appreciated. I was born and raised in Guanajuato and got to enjoy Día de muertos in Janitzio and many towns sitting around Lake Pátzcuaro in Michoacán for many years growing up until my adult life when I left Mexico. I don’t consider myself either Chicano or Pocho, but thank you for the ideas for another video and for the deeper insight into the origins of this beautiful tradition. Your support is greatly appreciated.
