medvidekmisa maybe the rough texture/finish is intentional. So when it wears only the "moutain tops" get worn and thus the bluing affects, the "valleys" however take up the majority of the surface area, thus the ring still looks blue even when worn.
This video actually helped me allot. My stomach was hurting and I guessed all I needed was to throw up. You know the marshmallows? And the mud? Well ya...... At least I feel better!
To quote another comment on this video, "The "Timascus" rod they are using is $1120 for an 1.6" OD x 5.5". By weight and using the density of titanium, that sells for ~500 per pound of the stuff. Looking at current gold prices, gold sells for over $20,000 per pound. I just saw a 24 karat gold ring sell for ~$750, similar price to his ring." There is no reason for this ring to be that expensive aside from sheer overpricing and overestimating his craftsmanship. I'll admit, this ring looks pretty damn cool, but not $700 cool.
Many people might not realize that the most common white pigment is titanium dioxide, which is organically inert and thus used in food coloring. Hence the high titanium content of Skittles and marshmallows.
2:29 the nozzle dry out really quick, must get really hot due to friction. Hope someday you guys measure the temperature of the water coming out of the nozzle to get an idea crazy that thing is
People are complaining about the price of the ring, but it's a timascus ring. Not only does the process of making the shit make it way more valuable, but to then make it into a object that then consumes more time, it's not a thrown together project that he's selling on eBay to whoever wants it, it's a piece of work he made himself
can we talk about how his rings are like $700+, thats way too much for a ring like that when i could just order one for $50-60. i understand its 'hand made' and 'made in the usa', but seriously, thats just way too crazy of a price. the business tactic of hoping to sell one ring to make 1000% profit compared to selling 20 rings to make a 1000% is just a lazy way of trying to make money fast by making only one ring instead of pricing the ring at what its worth and making more than one. funny video tho, just kinda sick of this dude and his over priced stuff. its like selling the bat symbols you cut out for $200.
You can find very similar rings elsewhere for a more fair price. Patrick likes to charge a ridiculous rate for his labor. Others just as good as him will only charge half of what he does.
Psyco Senpai. Some even less than half! Look on Instagram. People using the same materials and techniques. Patrick seriously must charge like $300.00 an hour for his labor
Yet many of you who assume that machining titanium is as easy as steel or aluminum, are going to learn the hard way without the right tools and know how, will quickly find out why he priced it so much.
Joshua79C C he already had the tools for metal working. He's not buying the lathe for each ring or the waterjet unless they are renting all those things the cost of the tools doesn't matter. I'm sure the stuff he's sold already has well already paid him back on what he spent on tools. It's just man hours and cost of metal and electricity to run tools.
Joshua79C C uh have you ever actually tried to work titanium? It’s a complete pain in the ass. It blows through abrasives like you wouldn’t believe and tears up cutters and drill bits. The icing on the cake is that it can also gall to other metals and weld itself to them. I’ve had it weld itself to drill bits on my drill press and ruin both pieces. Titanium is about 50 hrc, steel is generally lower than 30 when not hardened. Titanium is a bit easier to work with than hardened steel but not by much. Plus the sparks it produces are a pain in the ass too.
Exactly Aepiis, thus why my comment to others who think is just like machining steel or aluminum or even copper. You two others really should try for yourself or go to a machining shop and ask for a demonstration as you still do not get it, densest alloy-metal it is, there is a reason why medical professionals warn of wearing such rings.
drummerman1206 not really. I could easily afford dozens of the things, but I'd still begrudge paying that much for one of these. It's not so much that the product is overpriced that's the complaint though, it's that the dude is really boring and miserable and detracts from an otherwise fun and irreverent channel.
ATA420 Bill Gates is a pretty boring dude...you using windows?? Steve Jobs was pretty weird and boring fuck too...so I hope you arent using any apple products. Actually most inventions you use were probably made by boring as fuck people....yet you still use them. They show this guy on their channel to advertise for him and I'm 99% sure the channel makes a commission off of each ring sold that uses their code. So you would be doing your favorite channel a favor by buying one of his rings so they make more money.
nick4819 gates and jobs are/were interesting and passionate people. Additionally, the product was not their personality. In the case of this youtube channel, the videos and the personalities of the hosts are the product.
Meh..that's all opinion. What makes Gates and Jobs interesting to you? Because they made products they changed the world we live in? The guy who films for this channel has a personality almost like the Patrick guy. Both are just really mellow. Weird sense of humor. The only difference you see in the videos is that the Patrick guy is there selling a product that isn't made by this channel and for some reason that makes you not like the guy?? You can't possibly judge his character from the little information you get from the video. You like this channel and the people who make it...the people who make it seem to like Patrick otherwise he wouldn't be in any of their videos.
The beginning was almost like a reverse howtobasic
There was no egg added
HowToAcidic, I guess. Especially after adding the Coke.
Jake Killham I was thinking the same thing
Jake Killham wow
The beginning is alchemy lol
Damn, I always suspected Skittles were the secret ingredient in damascus titanium and now I know it's true, thanks guys!
There like 150 to 2500 dollars
@@adsky8099 not if you use this method. I tried it and it worked
Not sure how you got the results you did you put way too much Dr Pepper in that mixture
Who else was like "what the fuck" in the beginning
Patrick looks like he dies inside everytime he is forced to give a ring away
He sells a ton for every one that he gives away.
I'd die inside too if I was charging $700 for a $3 piece of metal. That's called some serious greed.
Iamfree Areyou
Hey just know that I’m impressed by your stupidity.
Iamfree Areyou wow you are really an idiot.
His is a special kind of stupid. Short bus kind of stupid.
That's actually a quite attractive ring. I'd buy one.
for $700?
i dont think titanium is that expensive
but holly shit it is 700$ on the website
DerpMaster Hd my dreams of having one are crushed by my social status.
Jakob Parish No. Not for that much. I'd pay 100$ though.
these guys are the true underappreciated comedic geniuses
You should see how many sheets of bullet proof glass you can cut/ body armor
Connor Butler they already did the bullet proof glass, not sure about Kevlar though.

A day with you guys would be absolutely awesome
Waterjet Channel from my end it looks awesome 👍
Beautiful ring, thank you for sharing your amazing video
This guy know's what he's doing.
I wish he polished it... I WOULD be dissapointed if I purchased and it came with all those surface scratches.
Waterjet Channel for something worth that much yes
AddisonLarson nah that requires effort then the price might make a little bit of sense and that's just crazy
I think he did...its just rough structure of titanium...but not sure...Iam more curious about blue color done by heat and if it will be permanent...
medvidekmisa maybe the rough texture/finish is intentional. So when it wears only the "moutain tops" get worn and thus the bluing affects, the "valleys" however take up the majority of the surface area, thus the ring still looks blue even when worn.
Waterjet Channel true
Lol at "DIABEETUS" on the whiteboard
Cut a prince ruperts drop and a fleshlight
THAT IS ONE DOPE RING
That ring looks really cool
Waterjet Channel defiantly
Hahaha I subbed just because of the comedic damascus skit. Alex Steele would be so proud lol.
Thanks for the tOtALly not fake way to make titanium
This would be a cool wedding ring
Works every time, 40% of the time. 😎
This video actually helped me allot. My stomach was hurting and I guessed all I needed was to throw up. You know the marshmallows? And the mud? Well ya...... At least I feel better!
It’s so mesmerising
LMAO $700 for this meme ring? It's worth max $99. Even Lavar Ball doesnt scam like this
LAWL who said it was a meme?
I bet you are a materials specialist right?
This is titanium you fking idiot super strong yet super light material
To quote another comment on this video,

RoseWolfz Prime it's probably fake titanium then
I'm lovin the Wilford Brimley recongnition @4:14

2:29 the nozzle dry out really quick, must get really hot due to friction. Hope someday you guys measure the temperature of the water coming out of the nozzle to get an idea crazy that thing is

I really frickin need this
Patrick looks like if Austin Evans had a brother, but he got fed up with his shit, so he's like, "Fuck you; I'm going to make rings."
I checked out the website and his rings are so cool O.O
Love the vids bro!
1:19 I was like "dafug?"
Please put some more computer fans on the jet and spin them up super fast.

Waterjet Channel great idea!

In my country you can get these with 1 dollar(80 taka) beleive me you can find it in street side stores
This guy willingly shows what little work goes into his astronomically priced rings? It's not rocket science to get some materials and use a lathe...
Yet many of you who assume that machining titanium is as easy as steel or aluminum, are going to learn the hard way without the right tools and know how, will quickly find out why he priced it so much.
Joshua79C - yeah, they would find out that machining titanium is - oh wait, just as easy as working with steel.

The haters are the ones who can't afford one. Hahaha.

COOL!!!!!
BRASIL agradece pelo VÍDEO
You should cut some unobtainium next.
How does mixtures of dollar store products make a really attractive ring
Does the metal you added to the paint can need to be pure titanium?
*Infinity Ward has entered the chat
OMG BLUE SKITTLES
The yellow color you referred to is actually a sign that the metal began to temper. By the way it’s more of a golden brown or tan.
I have a challenge for you.
You must cut a pipe in two but have both pipes be the exact length of the pipe when it was not cut
