Looks like a miltronics ultrasonic level transducer. They are used to measure the level in the wet well. The signal is used to start the submersible pumps. Floats are usually used in addition to signal a high level or overflow condition.
It looks like Oakdene in Cambourne, at the time of adoption in 2016/2017 two Caprari 18kW pumpsets were installed (fits with this video as Caprari have yellow power cables) - this station may have had Hidrostal pumps fitted after this when under Anglian Water ownership.
I believe the dosing tanks release stuff in to help with the smell, and the other hatches are for the same pit, just no need for a massive hole when inspecting, would be opened to remove or replace pumps or for cleaning out the well.
@@stevenwildman3298 Do the pits contain dangerous gases as I once descended some steps to a locked door which went in to the pumping area and I felt like my legs were going dead?
No they wont co train any harmful gases, it's basically poo and water, I wouldn't recommend going for a swim in one lol but theres nothing in there that would cause you serious harm.
@@stevenwildman3298 when making a confined space entry into a pump station like this, we would always use a gas monitor before and during the work. It’s not often a man entry is needed as the pumps lift out using the chains.
are the tanks concrete inside ?
Local councils / water authorities should invoice those baby wipe companies for the damage done.
Do they block frequently? Would you but a house next to one?
thanks.
0:40 the pumps are all a ballast ?
Is there ultrasonic distance measuring in it? I can here high pitched clicking?
The blue cone thing is a telemetry device that measures it!

what is a Forced main?
I suppose it's sewage being pushed down a pipe rather than it just flowing by gravity
