Wonderful video. I bought a Bellman this summer and use about everyday. Is tricky to master, but I make pretty good cappuccino with it. I saw another of your videos about six months ago and have learned something from both. Love your presentation. Very natural. Thanks. Enjoy!
@@jimmys_jimny still good one for camping bro, i now have Machine for coffee art and sold mine but thinking to buy it again for camping. If u need cappucino and abit artsy. Then this is the best.
The handles aren't made from plastic. According to the description on Alternative Brewing's shop page, they're made from bakelite. They might get hot, but shouldn't melt.
Bakelite is a manufactured, synthetic plastic containing high amounts of toxic polymers like formaldehyde and asbestos among others. Formaldehyde can cause irritation of the nose, eyes, throat and skin. High levels of exposure to formaldehyde may even cause some types of cancers.
I don't know where you from, but here in Australia there are a few online stores that sell the Bellman espresso/steamer alternativebrewing.com.au/product/bellman-espresso-steamer-cx-25p/
Yes, the handle is removable, but take care not to screw it on too tightly - Bakelite is not elastic, so the thread might break. Also take care that the steam nozzle is protected in your bag.
I got one of these for xmas. Thanks for the helpful video. Just watched your other one and now this one, good to see an detailed video on how someone else uses it. I've also seen a lot of people make their coffee at 2-2.5 BAR - have you found the 1.2-1.5 works fine? I'm struggling to get a steady stream of coffee.
I've just bought myself one of these and waiting for it to turn up. I'm glad i came across your video on it Phil. I need a coffee now lol.
It’s a great unit. To save time Boil water first and pour in the boiling water. Than bring pressure up slowly.
I really enjoyed the video, you have a very joyful way of speaking/presenting
Thanks

I read somewhere that someone burnt the handle off with to high a heat.

Hi mate, how are you finding this after a couple of years?
I have not used this for a while now. Last time I did. It worked fine.

Hi Phil. Is the handle removable on the jug? Just got limited room in my coffee traveller bag.
I think it is. I will have to take a look at it
Yep, unscrews easily by hand. It's made of bakelite too, not plastic. Quite heat resistant.

Hi Phil. That looks like a less complicated machine than some of the electric units I've seen. Where is it made ? (Please don't say China)
Not made in China. This one is made in Taiwan

The filters its a turn off . I rather have one that don"t use filters .
You can make coffee without the filters, but it will not be as clear.
Thankyou for the review, think I'll stick to my Wacaco. Makes an awesome espresso.
Thanks for watching.
