A shot of mace to the face, and you take away the aggressor's vision. Then you have the ability to escape, or counter attack your aggressor. Attack the head, or the knees. If something or someone's behavior seems off, or makes you uneasy you should switch into a offensive readiness. Don't be afraid to be rude. If someone approaches you wanting something innocuous don't be afraid to not be polite or give them assistance. Basically the opposite of a good Samaritan. Criminals prey on other people's good nature. Don't trust the kid asking to sell you stuff at your front door, they're casing your house. I've seen 17 yr olds murder, they'll sit there and share stories of how they beat a 65 yr old milkman almost to death for a few bucks. Prison is full of people with no formal training but have mastered aggression and violence. Everything in reach should be a weapon. Sit there in your office and visualize different objects and how you could f somebody up with them. I've been stabbed in the hand with a metal pentel pen. It hurts like hell. Nothing is off the table. Get comfortable with the idea of stuff like sticking your thumbs in eye sockets until you hear a pop. Blood gets sticky after about two minutes and turns into a gritty sludge. Now imagine your hands are covered in that and you're wrestling with a hairless gorilla. Don't be afraid to lie or bluff. Just like making yourself bigger or stronger to a bear, making yourself seem armed or making yourself seem not alone deters human predators. But also be the gray man. Don't advertise what you have (nra or gun stickers on your car) Your vehicle is also a weapon. V8 beats 45 every time. That's all, do with it as you will.
If you have to fire your tool, empty it center of mass , load another mag, and be ready to repeat. The prosecutor will argue if you only fired once or twice. Show urgency .
Go for the kneecap first. They are weak, vulnerable, and disabling. Without a gun, an assailant that can can not stand, walk, or pursue is easy to outdistance.
