How To Save A BUNCH Of Soil | Hügelkultur

This video shows you how I use hügelkultur in my containers to save on a bunch of soil, this can also be done in raised beds, garden beds, and any other application where soil is used.
The big thing to remember is that if you intend on using the container or raised beds the same growing season is to use rotted logs, branches, sticks, etc. If you use fresh wood, it'll suck up nitrogen from the surrounding soil, that'll make your plants that are planted into it struggle more than they would without the logs.
Also, I picked these branches up from a park that's left in a natural wooded setting that I live right next to. I realize this is a luxury and not available for everyone. Other sources could be local tree trimming services that might be able to deliver their tree trimmings to you, although this will be fresh wood so bare that in mind!
