I’d be more curious to know how many days per week he does this and for how long? Because that’s the real teller of how disciplined one is with this stuff
@@jorgeeduardodussanvillanue46 I’d say minimum should be 3 really but yeah in his case 2 or 3 is fine given his responsibilities. Also if I’m not mistaken he does football as well? So it seems as though he probably does a decent amount altogether
@@joeyblogsy Exactly. I don't train in the gym honestly (don't see it as a worthwhile expense) but I commute with my bike to work every week day, play volleyball 2 times a week and football on Saturdays. All in all if you're staying active you should be alright, training is more beneficial for long term health but group sports/bike riding are also fine from a cardiovascular standpoint.

Please let Magnus know that when he reaches the 45-50 age range it will be better for him to do non joint straining exercises like swimming and stationary bike riding and to take Calcium tablets to strengthen his bones as experience has shown that many who have done the normal exercises that stress the joints end up getting severe arthritis in them which is quite debilitating and painful. The body does weaken as one gets older despite working out frequently. If that was not true then Michael Jordan would still be playing basketball!!
The only way to strengthen your joints is to work them. There's a reason broken backs are nonexistant in world class stronman competitors, etc. Avoiding the things that cause you issues is a surefire way to make them worse. Michael Jordan doesn't play anymore because: 1. You can't keep up with younger players at those ages 2. He spent his career on drugs that cripple your performance longterm
@@alihasanaxe4936 Well, I sure hope that when yo reach 65+ you have no joint problems as you are obviously unaware that osteoarthritis can not be prevented by exercise. It is kinda like male baldness in that despite all efforts you can not stop it.
@@northshores7319 Exercise is literally the number one treatment for osteoarthritis symptoms! 😂 Yes you can't _stop_ it, but you can make it a hell of a lot better. I'm a licensed PT, if that qualification matters to you.
@@alihasanaxe4936 Your qualification as PT means nada to me as I have been physically hurt by doing the exercises designed by PT to 'make me better', such a torn MCL and ACL and plantar fascitis too. Magnus, no joke, work on a farm or do some kind of manual labor rather than go to gym. Farm boy strength is a real thing.
I'm sorry for this question can be impertinent... Is it really possible to live from chess or do you do another job on the side?

Only Magnus could get Leonardo DiCaprio as his personal trainer.
lmao
Would have been nice to actually see him do the crunches, pull ups, battle ropes, and other stuff like that.

00:03 - Ahh, so that's where all these videos of Magnus on UA-cam came from about World Champion WHILE BREATHING.
I need to see magnus carlsen and magnus midtbo in a video together
Magnus is taking inspiration from Sam Sevian so he can break the heads off pieces more efficiently than anyone else.
Such a strong player
Seems like an all-rounder.
Love you Magnus ❤
The moment I saw Lawrence Trent I got an instant smile on my face 😁
Is Carlson the equivalent of Carlsen in the personal trainer domain ?
Fitness is great and chess is great too 👍
Carlson teaching Carlsen.

he plays soccer a lot, thats a good cardio
I think that Magnus would love CrossFit. I'd like to see him at my box.
I never knew that to play chess we also need to be physically fit

I was wondering how you got your big guns(biceps)
Wow this is so great!
I was hoping the exercises would involve chess exercise pieces. Instead of a boxing bag, it's a giant rook, etc.
Weird that no one has made any meme about that "breathe" at the beginning nor about his trainer being named "Bror 'Carlson'". Xd
Magnus's trainer looks like young Leo DiCaprio)))
Meanwhile Hikaru drinking his juicers

Magnus can crush Hans with this training routine
