    We have a MY 23 RWD with an LFP battery. We have had it for 11 months and the LPF battery makes things so easy. At least once per week we charge it to 100% (as required). We started with 260 miles and it is now reading 257 on a full charge. Highly recommend

    Great to know. Looking at the Y as it’s a bit of a bargain at the moment. It’s to replace my Audi etron 55 at the end of its lease. I too can go 8-80% in 25 mins. But it’s not much longer to get to 100%. Drops to 100kw passing 80% then 50kw for the last few %. The lack of efficiency on the Audi means it needs many more kWh for a similar range.

    Thank you for such an informative video, I to am looking at purchasing the Tesla model Y rwd soon. I want to know what is the average cost of 80% charge on a Tesla charging network?

    • @GoGreenAutos

      Pricing varies. But the Tesla network (in the UK) is typically 20-40p cheaper than the others. I get free Supercharging on my MY, so I don't see the prices in the car. See ua-cam.com/users/shortslYSh_Sbt0Pw?si=wcils6czQOMBvxLq

      Better charging curves don’t give you the whole picture - an impressive charging speed could be a bad BMS degrading the battery prematurely.

    I'm guessing you are not keeping the Model S as you have transferred the free supercharging to the Model Y. I hope someone buys the salvage, there's a lot of miles left in your Model S. My 85D is just coming up to 259,000. And one of the few bugbears has been fixed. An update about a month ago has improved the auto wipers immeasurably.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 місяців тому

      Yes the Model S has gone to CoPart. Tesla offered the free supercharging transfer which came at the right time for me and helped me make the decision. I have made an update video about it, but I've struggled to edit it, so I may have to re-record it.

      @GoGreenAutos  8 місяців тому +1

      @@Reyswy Correct, my Model S didn't even have any cameras, so no FSD. I did have free Supercharging, which is now transferred over to the Model Y and free premium connectivity, which I've now lost and have to pay £9.99 a month for.

      I've not looked into the BYD blade battery as we don't get that option in the UK. But I suspect there's not much in it. The CATL LFP performs well. I'm happy with it, both in terms of winter performance and Supercharging speed.

      Honestly, I have had my Hyundai 28 kWh for a while and I haven’t encountered any rapid charger issues. All the rapid and new ultra-rapid from Gridserve, BP pulse, Instavolt, MFG EV Power, Osprey are very reliable. And in 2023, the frequency of rapid chargers along motorways has really improved. It’s very noticeable. They’re even indicated most of the time straight from the motorway services sign 😮

      It was an offer they were doing in Nov/Dec 2023 to existing owners. Buy a new Model S/X/Y before end of Dec and transfer your free supercharging.
      You'll have to wait before the end of a quarter or maybe end of the year when there's pressure to increase the sales numbers to see if they bring this offer back.

      In Europe we have the CCS2 socket on our EVs. The top part is for AC charging, the lower is DC.
      I'm sure its not Tesla's preferred way, but that was the UK/EU standard, so they had to run with it. The NACS plug you have in the US hasn't made it out of the US.

Model 3, Model Y, new S & X, new vision AI self driving, Optimus robot, giga-castings, new manufacturing techniques for using stainless steel, Cybertruck, semi truck, DoJo, Mega packs, new 48V architecture, new manufacturing principles for the upcoming small vehicle, multiple new factories and more.
