Some of these games have been converted to Nintendo Famicom (like the two Ninja-Kid games) or Sega Mega Drive (like Bio-ship Paladin/Space Battleship Gomora, one of my favourites on the systems), but the rest is very, very obscure. Despite that, some effects are very impressive, like the background scrolling in "US AAF Mustang"...man, look at that!
I've never thought that Atomic Robo-Kid and Ninja Kid were linked by the same developer that I haven't heard of before... Oh, wait! The obvious that's not that obvious...
Among all these titles, US AAF Mustang is the one that really impressed me the most. Beautiful paralax scrolling in it...!
UPL isn't well known in the U.S., and from the look of these titles I'm not surprised. Most of the titles are unremarkable or extremely derivative.
USAAF Mustang is UN Squadron
XX Mission is Xevious
Bio Ship Paladin is R-Type
Mouser is Mappy
Etc.
I have a feeling this was a very common trend in Japan at the time but the most remarkable thing about these games is how unremarkable they are. Those titles that aren't derivative, like Mutant Night, are just plain ugly.
I think I have a vague memory of the Vandyke arcade game. That's the only one I even begin to think I recognize.
Only recognize Atomic Robo Kid, Task force Harrier Thanks to the Genesis/Mega drive ports. Rest never heard of them.
Same
I recognize a few of these but most of them I've missed out on.
So many games I’m not familiar with at all but that don’t look too terrible! That’s an uncommon combination.
USAAF Mustang was ported to the Sega Megadrive/Genesis under the title Fire Mustang, it's worth checking out.
Correct! I agree, it's a great game. Atomic Robokid and Task Force Harrier were ported to the Mega Drive too.
Surprised I didn't recognize a single game.
A LOT of the later UPL games were actually done by NMK.
Awesome video
The quintessential producer of above average arcade games
só jogasso , congratulations😊
There's some pretty cool games there. The Return of the Invaders, and the Mustang game stood out to me. The shooters looked pretty fun too. I've never heard of that developer before. Nice video
