I love that this is straight to the point. Soooo many videos do needless talking like there needs to be a setup when nah, we just want you to get to the point so we can learn. So thank you for not wasting my time! Clear and concise = liked and subscribed
Thanks for the clarification about air flow direction. I had an aftermarket filter and this info greatly helped.

You're Welcome!
I've replaced many cabin filters, but the Sienna had me stumped! Then your video showed you pushing in the middle of the glove box to give it more flex, and so the side pegs can clear the stop. Amazing and thank you!
You're Welcome! Glad it helped
Best installation video out there for cabin air filter replacement! I would have installed the air flow direction incorrectly if it weren’t for you! Great tip on pushing up on the glove compartment too! Appreciate you!

Excellent video. I very much appreciate the tip on where to press the glove box to get it out. The most beneficial comment was regarding the up arrow and the air flow comment. My replacement filter had the air flow arrow and I installed it with no stress.
Glad it helped!
Thank you, I watch other videos but did not mentioned to push back in the middle, I couldn't take out without middle push.

You're Welcome!
Thank you, took a very short time to replace
You're Welcome!
this was helpful, I was going by the example in the book and I've done many of these on Fords because I am a technician for Ford.
but I kept getting snagged on something, that extra step of pushing "up" in the middle of the glovebox helps.
I'm putting a multi-layer cabin air filter in my Sienna because I have pervasive allergies and I also like to spoil my vehicle with "nothing but the best"
exception being oil: I use liquimoly (2nd best additive package) instead of amsoil because the difference is 80 dollars including the oil filter or well over 100 dollars if we include ALL filters (I.E: engine, cabin, oil, and the 6.45 quarts needed, always go 6.5 quarts cause that extra .05 ain't going to hurt nothin')
I was going to change the transmission filter but determined that to be outside my skill level.
Thank you!!
You're Welcome!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Just saved me $40. Thank you!

You're Welcome!
Has anyone had trouble getting the access door off? I've pulled the clips on both sides and it still won't come off. I've applied some force but I'm afraid I'm gonna break something off.
Yeah mine didn’t want to come off easily either. I wedged a thin flat head screwdriver under the bottom as I pulled back on the tab (one side at a time). Used the screwdriver to lever it out. Had to wiggle and finesse a little but it came off. The filter was super dirty. Probably why the cover was stuck- lots of dirt and grime. Good luck!
My latch on the right hand side fell off. Is there an easy way to put it back
I can not remove the drawer, guessing the plastic is too rigid in late january in boston. I did it before without much efforts.
Dealer wanted 80.00 for engine air and cabin filter change filters a little over 20.00 can be done in less than a minute
How did you pull the air filter access door so easy? No matter how hard I pinch it doesn’t come out!!!
Not sure - I've never had issues on these access doors
Any suggestions on where to buy both cabin and air filters? Dealership is extremely expensive ($65), but not sure which aftermarket product to trust.
I usually just get them from a local auto parts store ( Napa, O'Reilly or Auto Zone) but your cheapest option is probably to order them online.
You should take out the filter so we can see what it looks like.
Why do it look like it's hard to pull that clip to release it I was scared to pull it it look like it won't come off
Sometimes they do come off pretty hard.
How often do you need to replace them? Few dealerships told me differently. Some said 30k some said around 10k.
I usually just go off how they look but its generally recommend to replace them about every 15k miles or once a year
@@PYR-Auto Oh no, my van is already close to 30k.... I will need to change them like tomorrow. Thanks.
1:39 direction of air flow explained
You speak like Chef John 😂
Cabin air filters can do more harm than good. I don't live in a hermetically sealed environment, and I have minor allergies to pollen. I don't have house AC, and I live in a slightly rural area; the windows are often open. In my car, the windows are open as much as possible and are closed only when it's too hot (use AC) or too cold (use the heater). None of my earlier cars had cabin air filters, and I did not have problems.
A few decades ago, car manufacturers started installing cabin air filters. These are great, especially if you live in a dusty place or you have moderate to sever allergies, in which case you probably live in a closed environment.
The big problem I have with cabin air filters is that car air systems do not properly keep out vermin including deer mice. In my later cars with cabin air filters, the mice love to nest, pee, and poop on top of the cabin air filters. With Hantavirus, this is a dangerous situation. For me, it's better to remove the cabin air filter than to breath Hantaviruses. Of course, I still have to eliminate mice in my cars.
Everything I read on either the internet or see on UA-cam is written by folks who sell or replace cabin air filters, so they all say they are great. Nobody I've seen says, "Here are the pros and cons. It's up to you to decide."
Ya a mouse Chewed a hole throw mine
Thanks!
Thank you for the support! It is very appreciated!
