Bone conduction headphones have the same idea and they're pretty cool. I love em for work because you can listen without anything in your ears and hear your coworkers if they're trying to warn you about something or talk to you, but then if you need ear pro you can pop in some ear plugs and the tunes keep going.
Yup! I got a nice pair of bone conducting headphones for bicycling this year. Ideal for playing podcasts and the like, OK for music as long as it's not super bassy. Had them for months now and I don't think anybody has even noticed when I'm wearing them. They feel pretty sci-fi too, even though bone conduction is perfectly mundane tech that's been around for years.
@@RobertJW For sound quality, yes, but no one is doing audiophile level listening when using bone conducting headphones. Usually it’s for background listening and podcasts (which is what I use them for). The real listening is kept at home.
I was kind of blown away when I tried the Bose sunglasses on. If they’re not on your face you can’t hear very and then you get great sound quality when you put them on.

I have a pair of these and love them for casual wear, and I used to wear them during class all the time and absolutely loved them (I’ve got prescription lenses in them and no one ever seemed to notice)
Your opinion on these is my experience with Trekz bone conductions. Having something that fits under my welding hood and I can still hear people in my shop. Something where I can hear when the boss walks up behind my at my desk at work while them not hearing what I’m listening to. Fantastic for when you want content with convenience and sound quality isn’t your prime goal.
Why not try some bone conduction headphones. I tried some at a tech show a few years back, and the noise cancelling is absolutely insane. Shoulda seen my face. Those were incredible. You have literally nothing in your ears, but you can't hear anything around you at all. And the bass is thick. Kinda tickly even.
@@goob8945 I only got to experience them one. But they are srsly amazing and srsly expensive too. 😂 Be on the lookout for tech shows. You might be able to find some there on display. If you ask nicely, they would most likely let you try them.
@@spccadett no they aren't. They go straight in your ears and have a speaker right in there. Bone conducting headphones go around your ears and the driver sits somewhere above your cheekbone.
You should definitely into aftershokz bone conducting headphones. Specifically their aeropex model, I've had mine for awhile but they broke but I loved them so it would be awesome to see what you think about them since this video made me think of em
I work at a grocery store and i noticed a customer had them a long time ago and I asked him if I could listen to them, he said yes. And I was blown away how good it sounded. I told myself I was gonna buy some but I forgot they existed 😅. Now I'm buying them as soon as I get my next prescription. Although I do hope they eventually make a charging case/dock
3:00 that’s because it’s likely using bone conduction, which uses your ear cartilage to conduct the sound so only you can hear. When you give it a proper sound chamber with your hands it increases the bass.
5:18 I don't have any power adapters that use USB-C.... I don't want to have to plug my cable into my laptop or desktop to charge it. Like even my OnePlus 8 I bought a few months ago still uses USB A on the charging brick.
@@Javi_Lacking yeah. I mean I'm all for devices that charge via USB-C, since the port is way more reliable and convenient than microUSB. I like it for Thunderbolt stuff and charging my laptop too. However, I still don't really see any advantage of having the other end of a charger cable be USB-C. Size doesn't matter there. Sure, it's reversible I guess? But you just leave that plugged into a brick 99% of the time anyways.
All the wall adapters in my house are USB C and all my cables are C-C, it's sooooo much nicer. Reversible cables, smaller connectors, faster charging. It's where we're headed and I'm here for it
you gotta admit tho that a slim USB-C cable is way sexier for these than a regular thiccboi USB-A. also if you can spend 400$ on that gadget a 20$ usb-c charger is not that much of a stretch

Yep. Great for hiking.
Came here to say this
Bone conduction is TERRIBLE though.
@@RobertJW For sound quality, yes, but no one is doing audiophile level listening when using bone conducting headphones. Usually it’s for background listening and podcasts (which is what I use them for). The real listening is kept at home.
Evidence that this was before COVID:
-trying it on other peoples faces
-seeing other people
-being outside
-seems happy
I was kind of blown away when I tried the Bose sunglasses on. If they’re not on your face you can’t hear very and then you get great sound quality when you put them on.

“aw mate there’s so many trucks I can’t even believe how many trucks aw mate-“
Your opinion on these is my experience with Trekz bone conductions. Having something that fits under my welding hood and I can still hear people in my shop. Something where I can hear when the boss walks up behind my at my desk at work while them not hearing what I’m listening to. Fantastic for when you want content with convenience and sound quality isn’t your prime goal.
I feel like there's been more Frank cameos.
I love it.

Yes there was, I know because I had/have a pair from a few years ago. They were from wish though so not the greatest. But they did work.
there was also a bone conduction pair that someone made years ago don't remember who, but i was really expecting this to be a bose version of those
Oakley used to make ones with earbuds
There's ZUNGLE and they are Bone induction Sun Glasses.
My football coach had something like that 10+ years ago
Why not try some bone conduction headphones.
I tried some at a tech show a few years back, and the noise cancelling is absolutely insane.
Shoulda seen my face. Those were incredible.
You have literally nothing in your ears, but you can't hear anything around you at all. And the bass is thick. Kinda tickly even.
Always wanted to try these but could never find them. It’s almost like voodoo magic but it sounds like it would be awesome
@@goob8945 I only got to experience them one. But they are srsly amazing and srsly expensive too. 😂
Be on the lookout for tech shows. You might be able to find some there on display.
If you ask nicely, they would most likely let you try them.
The samsung earbuds are bone conducting...
@@spccadett no they aren't.
They go straight in your ears and have a speaker right in there.
Bone conducting headphones go around your ears and the driver sits somewhere above your cheekbone.

IDK about dirty jokes, but you got a sick joke where "bean coffin" = "been coughin'" and it's 2020 in 2020 in 20/20 vision
You should definitely into aftershokz bone conducting headphones. Specifically their aeropex model, I've had mine for awhile but they broke but I loved them so it would be awesome to see what you think about them since this video made me think of em
they're like the same idea of the sunglasses but without the glasses and they're even more stealth so I used them for work a whole lot
I literally came to comment this!! I LOVE my aftershokz and I would love to see him review them!
"This being the most open headphones I think possible at the moment"

This is a technology I really hope gets better and doesn't just fade into the background.
HAHA
You made it say "Dingus"
I'd love to see a review of bone conduction headphones. Curious to see if they're legit plus Itd probably be a funny video.
he just did that yersterday, your wishes came true
3:00 that’s because it’s likely using bone conduction, which uses your ear cartilage to conduct the sound so only you can hear. When you give it a proper sound chamber with your hands it increases the bass.
except they don't use BC at all
5:18 I don't have any power adapters that use USB-C.... I don't want to have to plug my cable into my laptop or desktop to charge it.
Like even my OnePlus 8 I bought a few months ago still uses USB A on the charging brick.
USB-A: The A is short for "Ain't going away anytime soon."
And I couldn't agree with you more.
This is the comment I was looking everything I own requires usb C to charge but I literally don't have a single usb c female to connect something too.
