Wolf Alice is my all time favourite band and this is one of my favourites off their first album. You should definitely check out 'Lipstick on the Glass' and 'Delicious Things' from their most recent album. Or 'Visions of a Life' from their second album.
I'm a little surprised on how much I like these guys. They seem to really mix up the moods of their songs. They all seem so different. Plus, Ellie has such an amazing voice. Sure, I'll check those out. Thanks
They just get better and better. I truly think they are one of the top current bands in the world right now. Every member is essential and on top of their game. Love them so much. Even better live. So glad you are getting in to their stuff. I love that their genre is no specific genre at all. I would definitely suggest listening to their recent live versions of this song. Waaaay better with the subtle improvements they have implemented. **Note** I wrote this during your opening. I love how you picked up on all the members being equal. Right on with where I was going.
Agreed with the 'gifted'. Their gift is not that their talent doesn't come so easy to them. The gift is that of knowing that it will take hard work on their part and actually doing that hard work to get to be so good. Maybe even that they have to have determination and focus to progress until they get to be what they want to be. I think these days with instant gratification due to computers, people expect their abilities to materialize instantly like answers from anything we ask our computers. No, if you want to be good at anything you have to work for it. Practice, practice, practice. As far as this group goes - never heard of them but they are great at what they do. Must have missed your other reactions to them.
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind No, I missed two. One on purpose because of language, Smile and the other - no excuse. So I just listened to your reaction of The Last Man on Earth and loved it. She has a beautiful voice that was made even better with the orchestra.
LOL, just ditched the tv on my latest videos. I liked it though. Trying to figure out what I can do to keep from getting blocked on so many videos, especially monetarily. I may bring it back from time to time.
I think you're right about a lot of flavors in this song. Definitely a late 70's ,early 80's feel. I was kind of getting some Go-Go's but a bit heavier. And a little bit of Blonde, which I think one of the others of theirs you did was a lot like.
Sir, you nailed it. Everything you observed (including the Black Sabbath vibes) I couldn't agree with you more. Their songs do have that exciting anticipation and buildup, and Ellie is a master at changing the pace, feeling, volume (soft to screaming even) within a song and even within a single line of a song. For me (even though it dates back several years) this is their best live version of Giant Peach. ua-cam.com/video/wo5tjcK8HjI/v-deo.html&feature=shares
The cohesion comment is spot on. I saw them on their 2022 US tour and their guitarist, Joff, missed it due to a family health issue. They were amazing - Ellie is captivating, Theo brings so much energy with the bass, and Joel is a force on drums....but it was missing a piece. Joff has such a unique sound in regards to riffs, fills, and effects that I couldn't help but notice his absence (this may be due to being a guitarist myself but I couldn't help but feel a little bummed).

Ellie's voice is incredible. And she has gotten even better on the second and third albums. Truly amazing in concert as well. There's nobody better.

This was my gateway song into Wolf Alice. Unlimitable and undefinable genre wise. Just great unique music.
I agree. This was really good. I'm gonna have to add them to my list of artists to react to soon. It's been too long.
obsessed w this band, check out Giant Peach live at TRNSMT 2018 .. Ellie has become a total bad ass who owns the fkg stage

What??? You missed one of my reactions??? Oh, the humanity! LOL. I agree with everything you said.

Cool review. How are Wolf Alice not massive by now?
Love the old TV set with the antenna. Wolf Alice are the real deal.

I saw them twice in 2022. Luckily he was back by the time I saw them.
I'd love a reaction to Boards Of Canada - Seven Forty Seven
Hey Tim, I've never heard of them. I'll look into it. Thanks so much.
