Would you do a video about turning one of your double sided adhesive canvases into a glue canvas (using diamond dots glue or other brand maybe)? Might be interesting to try on one you you think has no hope of getting done... thanks for this video! I have only done 2 DSA and the 2 I got were good (no rivers/bubbles/canvas issues) so I have been lucky but I much prefer poured glue!
Rachel, this was so informative! I'd love to see the same video with the poured glue canvases just as a comparison. I prefer poured glue, but I have a Diamond Painting Deutschland canvas I'm currently working on, and I must say the canvas quality has been excellent. Not one problem. Thanks again!
Thank you Rachel, I’m curious would the adhesive hold the diamonds as strongly and tidily after all this time? I know you said you can flatten the lifted areas but will it remain flattened once the weight of the diamonds is added? Stay safe love and hugs xx
I have a gigantic canvas I bought when I was a newbie. I have spent untold hours on it, the canvas is awful with TONS of rivers and bubbles. I love the image and am praying the finished piece holds up. I am not buying DSA anymore!! Thank you for the video.
Hi Rachel thank you so much for showing us the double-sided adhesives. I am glad I didn't get any of those. I honestly thought this was going to be more of how you hung the diamond paintings up using the command strips. Based on what you had said in the last video. That was why I was trying to listen to this one. I have my diamond paintings done. But I don't want to hang them permanently on my wall because I plan on changing it. I think the command strips are the best way to go. But I can't seem to do it right. Thank you so much for showing us your room it looks so beautiful.
I hope you see this a day later didn't have a question yester, sorry. How important is it the the drills are perfectly straight? I'm doing my very first one and I can't seem to make all my drills lay in a straight row. They are round drills. Hope you see this before I go any further on this. Thank you.
I have a few old dst canvases I had hanging in my closet. When I went thru them, I noticed a lot of them now had rivers when I know they didn't when I initionally got them... I'm in Texas and I'm wondering if the extreme heat has something to do with it?? My custom paintings were still ok (the ones I got from Huacan, AZQSD and Evershine) but most of the other ones were not in good shape. I'm just keeping the customs and tossing the rest.
I think that was a great video and thanks for doing that. I had 2 canvases come from Ever Moment and I did look at them so now I'm afraid of what they look like because they had rivers to start with. I also bought to Josephine Walls from Diamond Painting Deutschland but I have not opened them up so maybe, like you, mine will be in pretty good condition when I go to work on them.
I have found that if you leave double sided adhesive canvases rolled up (as delivered) until you want to work on them you are less likely to get bubbles and rivers in the glue
I have changed double sided adhesive canvas to poured glue using Dotz Stick by Diamond Dotz which to me reacts and even smells just like the poured glue canvases. Perhaps try converting one of these canvases that you liked and wanted to do but because of their current state are a pass now into a canvas you want to work on. Just a thought.
I have a lot of double sided glue canvases I will now start only buying poured glue but I really like the canvases I have and am so bummed that I may have wasted thousands of dollars if I don’t finish them all right away which is impossible seeing as they are all very very big canvases really lived the video very informative and an real eye opener into poured glue versus double sided tape
Awesome video, Rachel. I think I need to work some of those I have sooner than I thought. I also hesitate to buy any of them now. I am wanting to do a custom, but gotta find a place with poured glue…
I bought 3 double sided adhesive diamond paintings last summer from some store on AliExpress that I was so excited about and the excitement quickly turned into major disappointment as they ALL had horrible rivers. I did what I could in trying to remove them but finally gave up and worked on them anyway. They ended up turning out really well surprisingly but I decided not to ever buy from AliExpress anymore after that.
Hi , the following shops on Aliexpress sell poured glue and I haven't had any issues with canvases or drills. Tinmi Arts official store (do ABs in alot of their kits , also just completed a custom with abs and it was great), MANHUI Rachel store, when looking MANHUI needs to be put in capitals as it won't recognise it. Also Old Street Home store and LaoJieYuan official store which are sister stores, ( rhinestones available as an option in these stores to do your pics).
My husband just got me a huge DSA canvas 80x220 for my birthday and I love the image. I’m a little freaked out by the DSA though. I absolutely plan to work on it but I definitely worry about popping drills. I know that there are definitely some rivers and puckers that I’ll need to fix as I go along, I just wonder how the drills will lay and keep when finished.
Hello Rachel, James and Miss Luna 💖🤗, Thanks for making this video. I remember most of the paintings when you unboxed them. I have so many double sided paintings too. Most weren't to bad when I opened them and now are hanging in the closet. I really liked them and hope they are ok. Living in Ohio, we have the weather changes too. Like you, I gave up on double sided paintings. If I get one it's by accident. Amazing how far the craft has come since I started almost 3 yrs ago. So happy for those changes. Most of all the licensed artwork issue. Personally I feel bad I didn't know there was such a thing. I figured all artists were paid. I know I bought stolen images 🥺. Again was an informative video. Love the room of what was shown. You take care and may the rest of your week be blessed. As always give Miss Luna, her hugs. See you soon. May Jesus bless you and yours, Lin ✝️🐕🐕🐕🐢🐦🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎💖🦒🐧🐲
Love your room enhancements! I cant wait to get and work on my copy of the DP of you and Luna from Rowe Diamonds by the artist and friend of mine, Emma Casey!
Thank you so much for this informative video! I have loads of DS Adhesive canvases, but I didn't do too much to "correct" the canvases figuring the less you mess with the adhesive, the better, lol 😆. So, I'm not sure what I'll do with the DS Adhesive canvases I have hanging in my closet... Thanks again for the video 😊💕💕 xx Cynthia
Thank you so much Rachel. I have a couple that have bad rivers. I did score the rivers but in the finished canvases the rivers keep showing up. Is there a way to get ride of that? It’s making me very sad, one I spent a lot of money and time on these canvases and want to frame them because I love the imaging. At this point I’m ready to toss them in the trash because it’s so bad.
I just got my first double sided and its a nightmare and I have decided its not my friend too.. I hope you make a review on poured glue after a few years as well.. im just curious
Great video, thank you! I've also decided that DSA is not for me here on the west coast of Canada. Have you ever thought of taking a DSA that you like, removing the tape and making it into a poured glue? I'd love to see your thoughts on that 😁
Rachel, I appreciate this video. Thank you. I have (as per the company) a high quality double sided adhesive canvas on its way to me in the mail. I plan on starting it in about 5-6 months. When it arrives I wonder if I should keep it rolled up the way it will come, or flatten it until I'm ready to work on it? I live in a fairly dry climate.
I don't like double-sided adhesive diamond paintings. I just haven't figured out how you know if a DP you may be ordering from a new company I haven't ordered from, how do you know if you're getting a double-sided painting 🤔
This came at a great time. I just got my first DSA painting yesterday . I've never done one before. Are there still the same problems with them today as there were back in 2018 and 2019? I didn't know it was DSA when I bought it. I better take it out and look at it. I just opened the box to see what had come. Any advice?
I don't think the majority of DSA used for DP is different now....I could be wrong as I haven't ordered from them in a while (I think the last was a homefun) but it's usually Sunor Group tape.
@@RachelRaeCraft Thank you Rachel. A bit off topic but I was curious if you heard anything back from Diamond Art Club regarding the sneek peek review you did last week on The Lost Child by Enys Guerrero. (I might be misspelling that sorry). I went to order it and it said it had been immediately discontinued because there was a problem with the way the eyes rendered. They said it was not up to their standards. I thought I'd think about it but when I went back a little while later it was completely gone. It wasn't even in the "Discontinued" section. So I just wondered if you heard if they would be fixing the issue and bringing it back. Thanks 💙
The moral of this story is stay away from double sided tape kits?! I do have a question and I am not sure if you would know but I have noticed a few companies that offer a choice of both poured glue and double sided tape for most sizes but once those pictures reach a certain size they are only offered in double sided tape. Why do they not offer them in poured glue?
Well in my climate I would advise to stay away but you do what is best for you 👍 also I'm not sure I've seen that, do you know any specific stores in particular that do that?
@@RachelRaeCraft Uniquely Yours Down Under was one of them. I seem to remember reading or seeing a video that the reason for the different glue styles was because the larger canvases were rendered or done in-house so they were double sided adhesive.
Have you thought about removing the tape and using the glue that diamond dotz has. I’m not sure if the glue is for that. I just saw everyone unboxing the large box of diamond dotz at home (or whatever it was called, it’s been awhile) if you love one of the paintings but not the dsa ,it could be an option. I love seeing all of your finishes on the wall.
Wow, you have had a lot of bad ones. I have had 2 that arrived with rivers. Then I found a different company. Have only had two with you rivers after sometime. These, I had pulled back and replaced the cover. I now leave them rolled in the box until I work on them and have some after a year that still don't have rivers. I only buy from this place though, don't want to order elsewhere and have bad ones. I am a poured glue/ mounted glue lover , as I know they will arrive in great condition. I still do dsa, as well, as thr place I order from does great customs. 😀
Looking back is quite funny
Me too glad they have improved.
I have quite a few older Diamond paintings to do. They are double sided adhesive. I guess I need to get them out & look at them.
Loving the room. Great job.
I have quite a few older Diamond paintings to do. They are poured glue also.

I would take that rivered canvas if you are actually planning on throwing it in the trash! my standards are pretty low haha
I haven't had time to watch you too much lately, but I sure love your haircut! And I loved the dual screen style.
Thank you, Lynn!
Thank you Rachel, I’m curious would the adhesive hold the diamonds as strongly and tidily after all this time? I know you said you can flatten the lifted areas but will it remain flattened once the weight of the diamonds is added? Stay safe love and hugs xx
Yes, they seem to stay! As long as it didn't have popping drills (which, sadly, a lot of my double sided adhesive ones did)
@@RachelRaeCraft thank you xx
I thought this video was going to be about a finished DP and how it held up after 3 years.
That would be a great idea for a video!
Great idea!
Thank you for the informational video. Was wondering how they held up after being completed if they got rivers after being completed and hung up.
Thanks for this video, useful info.

I hear you just fine, and I love the new room! Your collection is beautiful! Thank you for the update as I was also curious!! Great job!
Thanks for updating us on how these old kits held up! I also live in a humid climate and have mostly stopped buying DSA canvases.
I agree Racheal, I've decided to avoid double sided DP also.
Thanks for sharing. If you don't want to do some of them I'd be happy to do them. Of, course I know shipping isn't cheap.
