Great timeline it's a cool thought my only problems where that William kills Charlie before mci because why would he be rejected from entering Jr's. And how u depicted Ucn because why after getting 9800 points would a golden Freddy cutscene come up and also u didn't explain Cassidy I think that's all but Ill go back and look. Great timeline but personally I think in FNAF 4 you’re playing as the crying child and not Michael, it makes more sense to me because of the iv drip, pills, and flowers you can get as an Easter egg. I definitely agree that it’s a nightmare but not Michaels.
I think this is the best story to be made out of the events in the games while still being reasonable, I also think that Michael being the vengeful spirit would make William screaming for Michael in UCN a more dramatic event.
I do like this streamlined timeline, especially having Michael be "the one you should not have killed" the cassidy thing is really interesting but it's just too speculative
I think taking the books and future games into account, Cassidy does make more sense. But I like the narrative through line of Michael, especially when only taking into account this evidence
@RyeToast the one voice line that really throws a wrench in the works and bugs me to this day is when baby says in 6 "you're not who I expected to see" So either she expected someone else, and was surprised that Michael was there, or she thought michael was there but it was someone else

@@RyeToast For one thing Cassidy or Micheal being "The one you should not have killed" makes no sense when you consider that the books pinpoint Cassidy as female spirit within Bonnie while the Animatronics always call "The one you should not have killed" a He. On top of this the FNAF 3 headstones actually point to Jeremy being the Spirit of Golden Freddy. In the bad ending Golden Freddy is in between Chica and Bonnie while Jeremy is in between Susie and Cassidy. Secondly Micheal was a walking corpse and knowing how William can pretty much still speak without a voice box I think it's safe to say the voice comes from a spirit mimicing the last voice of its host so it's unlikely it was Micheal going off of voice alone. We have large amounts of evidence leading to Cassidy being Bonnie so I think this works out. Thirdly I don't think there is any way Micheal could come to the conclusion that Baby was "Put back together" in regards to freeing her spirit. Also the books always make Elizabeth a Servant of William and with FNAF Pizzeria Simulator enforcing this idea with her voiceline "I will make you proud daddy" Afton wanting that wouldn't make sense narratively. I think its more likely micheal put Scrap Baby back together literally either to get closer to Williams location or to help HRY233's plan in freeing the spirits. Also think about how messy and unstable Molten Freddy is form compared to Scrap Baby. One looks like it has a stable frame due to being worked on by someone who has repeatedly worked with animatronics for decades(Micheal). I also know the Freddy Files state that she added alot of parts from the run down Sister Location so its likely she had added those deadly adjustments. Sorry I know it's alot but I just wanted to discuss a few things.

This is the first FNAF time line video that hasn't made want to rip out my hair from the jumping of hoops, random connections, etc. This was so digestible and honestly plausible! Enjoy your ascension lol. The only hoop is the idea that Michael is TOYSHNK when it uh… reeeeally doesn’t feel satisfying to me. I guess it works but idk I don’t like it lol. But like it or not there IS evidence. If not Michael then my second guess is Charlotte OR Cassidy, mainly the former. They refer to TOYSHNK as a HE, though, so it might be Michael.
I like the idea of Michael being The One You Should not Have Killed instead of Cassidy. There’s something far less cathartic about one random kid who happened to be put in Golden Freddy just being so anger to have willed themself into becoming The Vengeful Spirit. I like the Michael lens better.
Yeah I like it better too but I do still think Cassidy is the intended "one you should not have killed" and if you do take all the outside information into account its a pretty appealing. 1. Golden Freddy (Fredbear) was already possessed by Evan (FNAF Crying Child) so she he shouldn't have killed her because there wasn't room for her soul. She had to share. 2. Fredbear either had his endoskeleton removed or his springlocks engaged, which meant that Evan and Cassidy were no able to move around like the others. They were just trapped, slumped in a back room. A much more tortured existence. 3. It's clear from all 4 of the numbered games that Golden Freddy is very important, and not like the others at all. Thus I think it's very appealing for them to have a special significance at the end. It's still not as appealing as Michael being the one you should not have killed, but I still like the implication that Cassidy was "exactly one too many victims"
The one flaw I see with this theory is that in UCN's double-voice Mediocre Melodies the vengeful spirit's voice sounds quite distinctively female, so it would require some additional hoops if it was to be Michael. Also "the one you should not have killed" makes things even more dubious than it already was. Other than that, I like this theory too, Michael being dead set (heh) on taking down his old man at all cost would make him a pretty good candidate for the position of the vengeful spirit.
me too, I do not believe its true, since the vengeful spirits voice is way way to young to be anywhere near michael . . but it would be such a great narrative!!!
I hate how well thought out this is, every time I think of something that cancels it out it's not directly tied to the game. It's always what we learn outside the games or through the games. Excellent work
I have a hard time in these polls because I have some disabilities that make gaming difficult for me (seizures, arthritis in my hands etc.) And that's not including the fact that I have a crappy old laptop. So I really appreciate how much work and effort is put in by not just RyeToast, but everyone else who has played the games and caught so much I've missed by only seeing other people's runs. Also, since I watch others play, I get messed up in what's strictly in the books, what's in the games, what is a theory, A GAME THEORY, that I've taken for fact, etc. And that's not including all the content and info from Scott himself, whether it's an interview, or comments on social media to even the cut dialog and unused assets found while data mining. There is SO MUCH to sift through, and I'm really impressed with how well put together all of this is! Keep up the good work Rye! And I don't comment on livestreams very m8ch, I prefer to lurk. But I've been having a lot of fun with them these last couple months, and wanted to let you know!
Honestly this is the most straightforward timeline I've seen in a while.😅 Then again I'm kinda used to matpat and others incorporating the books and such. Don't get me wrong I like complicate plots but it's kinda gotten a tiny bit old sometimes. Your channel and a couple smaller channels have made me come back to the fnaf theorizing portion of the fandom.
And I mean this with no shade at matpat. He just has so many pieces of the puzzle to go through and sometimes I need a break from fnaf because of it. His other videos though (mainly film theory) are entertaining though

Incredible timeline, really cool to see what's possible to figure out using only the classic games. But you glossed over some really important details. For example, at no point you addressed the "Don't poop on the floor" rule in the original FNaF. Despite that, incredible theory. (For real though, I would love to see your take on "the box" using only the games)
I always forget about the box lol. I'm not sure, I think the box is where Evan's body was placed, and that's his coffin. Because William promised to put him back together, he might not want to bury them. But it's honestly really hard to tell

@@lokimiguel2452 I mean, Afton and HRY are the only people we know that can create animatronics in the series, every other character is a kid or a security guard. Afton is questioned about "design choices" and HRY says in FnaF world I think that he created something horrible: Baby, plus he created LEFTE to contain the Puppet. HRY creates a whole fucking Pizzeria in FNaF 6 for us to work on, and Afton owns Afton Robotics and the rental company of Baby (plus Babys Circus World or whatever is called). HRY calls Afton a good old friend in his final speech, they have worked together before, and since they were the higher ups of the companies (proficiency with management, animatronic designs, construction of them, construction of buildings too) we can assume they were owners of establishments at most or original higher up staff at least.
Congratulations, you found a narratively satisfying throughline for all of the games. I was solidly an adult when FNAF first dropped and have never stopped following the lore (at least through MatPat) and this is the first time I feel like there's a story that makes sense.
It is interesting to see Micheal McCorpse as not someone who wants to right the wrongs of a father but one who actively tries to hunt his father down after the wrong did to him. Since it couldn't be remnant and agony being the other case, he is enraged.

Only major disagreement I have here is that "The One You Should Not Have Killed" is pretty unambiguously Golden Freddy in the games. The 50/20 clear cut scene, and the easter eggs around the Death Coin and Fredbear, pretty clearly point to that animatronic having significance. Additionally, the vengeful spirit face that pops up is clearly a child's. It'd be weird for that face to be a fully grown Michael Afton at this point. Of course, with games only, the only conclusion that could be made is that Afton's youngest is possessing Golden Freddy, and with the Fredbear easter egg, the concept that Fredbear and Golden Freddy are one and the same. It's not just as smooth as swapping the identity though. Since we see Golden Freddy's spirit freed through the Happiest Day minigame, we also have to switch order of events so that happiest day happens AFTER UCN for that reason.
I saw an explanaition (from 1 to ucn, no books) that Happiest Day doesn't take place during fnaf 3, but after Pizza Sim, World and possibly UCN, since the souls are "done" torturing William Afton and get to move on with the help of the puppet
I think you can maybe gauge that there are two spirits in Golden Freddy using only the games based on the FNAF 3 bad ending, because Golden Freddy has two eyes lit up instead of one like in the other animatronics, and you can probably make a guess that one of the missing children got stuffed in Golden Freddy along with Evan possessing Fredbear. It's weaker, though, and if it weren't for the books/logbook existing, I don't know if I'd believe it.
Ok so craaaazy thought as TOYSHNK might be Andrew via the Mediocre Melodies but what if TOYSHNK is CC?? He died in Fredbear who turned into Golden Freddy and he is a young boy with a short haircut, like the TOYSHNK image. He’d also be mad at William for “killing” him albeit indirectly, especially since it put him down a path of evil.
What if the animatronic has 3 modes, Suit mode, animatronic mode, and idle mode. Suit mode, and animatronic mode are obvious. But idle mode could be like, the animatronics spring locks in there legs are on, but all other spring locks are off. Meaning that the tears turned the animatronic from idle mode, to animatronic mode.
@@RyeToast we see from the FNaF 6 Security Puppet minigame that HRY223's animatronics tend to malfunction due to water, despite them not being springlock animatronics could be the same for Fredbear
This is one of the most concise timelines for the lore so far. It so much easier to follow everything when the complications of robot kids and other concepts from the books are shredded down to just what is known from the games. "henry" is actually mentioned in the games. in the old man consequences easter egg in ucn, the background noise when messed around with sounds like someone screaming "Mike! Henry! Help!"
Okay so for the first time any theory has given ANY explanation for "the one you should not have killed". Like matpat said, "oh you can kill all these kids but this one, THIS one, oh you shouldn't have killed this one" for no apparent reason. I don't agree wholeheartedly with the theory that it's Micheal but for once we get the answer that he shouldn't have killed him because it's HIS OWN CHILD. And that's quite interesting in my opinion.

I love this timeline, it's easy to digest and makes sense. My only problem is the "vengeful spirit" being Michael. Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of it being Mike, it's almost poetic in a way. But the game heavily implies that the vengeful spirit is Golden Freddy. But aside from that, I love it. Seeing a timeline that doesn't include the books is really refreshing, great job.
That was, bar none, the most fluid take on the timeline I’ve seen in awhile. The lightbulb moment I experienced when you mentioned residual Remnant allowing Michael to literally possess his own body… the one he shouldn’t have killed… great take!

I applaud you, Rye, for making a coherent timeline. Well done!! It would have helped to put in dates for all the events, but I guess we don't have enough evidence to do so. Following this, making a timeline from Help Wanted-onwards would be awesome too. However I guess that remains to be seen until the Ruin DLC comes out and gives us more info.
That's fair, I think the only evidence we have for dates would be 1983 for the crying child dying, 1987 for FNAF 2, 1992 for FNAF 1, 2022~ for FNAF 3, and 2023 for FNAF 6. In retrospect, I probably should have added those lol
I don't think the name "Scraptrap" was ever officially used, at least in the games? In UCN and Simulator he's just called "William Afton". Kinda weird to refer to Henry only by the codename but use the fan name Scraptrap there

I really like the narrative cohesion of this timeline, something a lot of FNAF theorists forego in pursuit of “THE LOOOORE”. Mike being “the one you should not have killed” was awesome. Good stuff.
Nobody seems to understand that the "Springlocks" are to Hold Back Springs while in "Suit Mode", this means that while the Suit is on an Endoskeleton, the Springlocks are ALREADY OPEN, and thus can't have ANYTHING to do with Fredbear biting The Youngest Afton/Crying Child. It's FAR more likely that in trying to be cheap on maintenance "Henry" used Hydraulics rather then Pneumatics to animate Fredbear, and this is important because it's a lot harder to implement a bleed-valve safety in Hydraulics (near impossible, they're a closed system, have to be) then Pneumatics (which are also noisier but can actually release pressure if they encounter "Unexpected Resistance" in a movement, but have to maintained more often).

I've recently rewatched GT's playlist of FNAF theories, and with 4 videos you managed to tell a more cohesive, simple, and honestly, more engaging story than MatPat did in 51 videos.
That isn't a fair comparison. This video series is specifically focusing on retroactively putting together the lore based on the games. Most of Matpat's videos came out as the games themselves were coming out (which would inevitably result in errors as future games clarified or retconned things), and quite a few of them were trying to predict things about upcoming games as well. Some of the videos were also just exploring ideas Mat and co. thought were cool ideas but not necessarily canon or true (which he has admitted). And some were just based on science or math in the FNAF world. So of course alll 51 videos weren't going to create a coherent or cohesive story line lol. They were never trying to, and those vidoes don't have the same premise as Ryetoasts series. If you really wanted to make an accurate comparison you'd have to watch every single fnaf video Rye has ever made. And like Mat's, they'd probaly contain contradicitons and wouldn't result in a clean narrative. _Because they aren't trying to_ .

this is a super good theory rye!! i think i agree with this the most out of any that i've ever heard, it makes a lot of sense to me going just off of the games
This is by far my favorite interpretation of the storyline of the FnaF games. Other people's interpretations that I've seen feel a bit disjointed, bringing in extra characters that don't really need to be there, and leaving loose ends unanswered. But this one brings things together so well. It creates the idea that the entire FnaF series is about Michael's pursuit of his father and primarily takes place from Michael's POV, which I really like. And it makes the endings of Pizzaria Simulator and UCN all the more satisfying.

Glad i found a timeline that FINALLY ignores the books in favour for the games. I always found it confusing that people would try to fit two clearly, canonically different universes to create a timeline.
I do think the books help with some of the more foggy parts of the timeline, but it doesn't help that Scott always says " well part of it is important". Yeah dude, which part though?
This is probably one of the best fnaf theory timelines. I like this version of the story. It actually SOUNDS like a story and not just elements of a giant universe that don't really connect. Great work bro, I watched your other vids on this and it was detailed as hell. The fact that you're only really one person gathering the info, editing and putting this together is smth to be proud of.
I really enjoyed this FNAF timeline video. To me this video felt like it took all of the messy stuff about FNAF into an understandable cohesive story. Thank you RyeToast. This also gives me an idea on how to construct my own sci-fi series. Like with a good villain with a reasonable motivation l.
One thing I can't agree with is that the DCI happened during the last party at FNAF 2. The Animatronics have 0 history of attacking children, and Phone Guy specifically mentions how they only act weird toward adults. I also doubt that "The Bite of 87" would be remembered if it was the same day as 5 other kids were killed by roaming animatronics. Considering the Bite is referenced as the reason for the FNAF 2 shutdown in FNAF 1, I imagine that the DCI happens when William returns as Spring Bonnie, and either Fazbear Entertainment covers up the murders (hence the subsequent investigation) or William hides the evidence himself (maybe shown by the bodies having been moved from where the bloodstains are). My only question then would be why William is shown as Purple Guy and not in the "yellow suit" (asides from Meta reasons like Springtrap wasn't invented yet by Scott), but then again you have the same problem with Foxy GoGoGo.

The one thing about this theory that I can’t reconcile is the fact that you set William taking apart the animatronics, being cornered by the spirits possessing them, and dying AFTER the timeframe of the backrooms being closed up. The third game suggests that Springtrap (dead William Afton) was uncovered from one of the closed up backrooms; this construction would’ve taken place around the closing of the location in FNAF 2. If Henry (HNRY223) is in prison and a non-player by this point in the timeline, and the remainder of the franchise basically having fallen off the face of the earth, who would’ve walked off William after he died in the back room? Nobody, as far as I can see. Which is why I still think that protagonist of the first game is Michael. It’s also why i think the disassembling of the animatronics and the death of William happen sooner than proposed in your timeline. HOWEVER, I love the detail and effort you put into your timeline, even if I don’t wholly agree with it!
I’m just now considering that this might’ve come across as condescending, so I apologize for that. I really do think your work here is fabulous, and I don’t think that these (perceived) mistakes take away from the rest of your theorizing! Please keep doing what you do! ❤❤
The ONLY thing I disagree with in this entire video is I still don’t think Michael is the one controlling UCN, but besides that it all makes sense. Nice work 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
1. I’m pretty sure there’s a line of dialogue in UCN where William shouts Henry’s name. Therefore, his name would be in the games. 2. I still don’t think there were two bites. I think that Phone Guy just got the year wrong in the first, and was generalizing (or ‘87 was just a REALLY packed year, which is almost impossible). Scott probably didn’t have everything planned that far ahead yet, and realized later that it was just easier to make the bite happen earlier. The dead child incident is the only thing that happened. 3. I don’t think that we have any evidence as to whether Elizabeth or (for the sake of simplicity) Evan is older. 4. Despite all of your evidence, I still believe that, at least for now, every game is canon, and there is only one timeline. I don’t think that anything in VR or SB controcticts the older games to the point where it can’t be explained. I don’t believe that the games made by “Scott” are the ones in real life, and I think that some of the animatronics that appear are caused by Glitchtrap messing with the code. To deter people from Glitchtrap and what really happened, Fazbear Entertainment started using the animatronics Glitchtrap put in the game as actual merchandise. Finally, the parts from The Blob looking like the older versions was caused by The Blob itself. It used the burned remains to craft the masks of those who’s agony is inside of it, and Burntrap looks so different from Scraptrap because Steel Wool didn’t want to use Scraptrap’s awful design.
Out of all the timeline theories this sure is one of them. Michael being the one you should not have killed is just... wrong. Golden freddy twitching at max points in UCN, Golden Freddy defying the death coin with a fredbear jumpscare, etc. Its very clearly something to do with golden freddy. Also, we literally see the puppet stuffing the suits. The other minigames are taken literally, why not that one?
Can rye toast's timeline be the timeline the movie uses ? It literally makes perfect sense and follows along with what the novel series does and doesn't call out very well. I love it
Crying child was not bitten due to his tears moistening the spring lock on fredbear. Why? Fredbear was already in animatronic mode. Thus the springlocks were already tripped and holding the Endo in place. So why did fredbear bite down on the kid? Probably jaw movement as he was speaking/singing.
3:01 Crying Child's tears could not have caused the springlocks to activate because the springlocks were already activated. Fredbear was in stage mode, not suit mode.
While I don't agree with everything here this is definitely an interesting timeline. Love the idea that HRY is the one imprisoned for the missing children's incident. Explains his absence from before without any large leaps of logic. The placement for fnaf 1 is also really interesting, though I'm still uncertain of that one. I like the explanation it gives for the puppet being in fnaf 1, but seems like that is one of the less unsubstantiated claims. And while I don't fully buy into William being present and free during the events of sister location (due to him seemingly having no interaction with Michael, despite seemingly living in the same house or at least same town, leading to the animatronics deceiving him in the first place) I like having a slot for it in the timeline. Most timelines seem to just place it in a large span between charlies death and pizza sim, so having a solid place for it already makes me like it.
I am really, truly exhausted of the talk around this series, and this is the nicest, prettiest, cleanest package wrapped in a bow anybody has presented me with. Well done.

@@lokimiguel2452 Hmmm… While there is a connection if one were to use the books, he doesn’t actually use them but connects the dots because HRY mentions he was good friends with William in Pizza Simulator. Since the two were good friends and are both creators of animatronics, one could assume they were partners. Is it an assumption narrative? Yes. But he doesn’t use the books, he actually tries to not Henry’s name as much as possible throughout these videos but it is hard since it is basically confirmed.

It is quite possible that one can say they worked together without using the knowledge of the books(people have literally gone off of less evidence or crumbs). Sure it might be an bias assumption but it is quite possible to think that. Like for example, why would Charlie be outside of the diner if HRY had no connection to the diner and William wasn’t there at the time? No parent just leaves their child especially if HRY created a security bot(helicopter parent much lol).

If I didn’t care for the books, much like the rest of community. I highly doubt that a helicopter parent like HRY would want their child going to a diner where a huge injury happened without any supervision. My point is that you can’t just say he is using the books when one could simply assume they work together since they are in similar careers. There gets to a certain point in this franchise where one would have to assume certain things for it to be cohesive. It is not his fault he came to the same conclusion. Give the man some grace. This is freaking FNAF where they had to recon multiple pieces of lore. I am telling you if it wasn’t for big time FNAF theorists(MatPat, John and among others) using the books to solve the lore, people would have still came to same conclusion or possibly came to your conclusion. Typically people would think of the books as a multiverse within rather than using it to solve the lore within the games because it isn’t connected to actual storyline of the FNAF games.
Really cool that you managed to pull a timeline of. I recently rewatched matpats older vids and I really miss the "simpler" times with the old clickteam games and SCs style of little hints.
this is way better than game theory. I learned about fnaf lore through matpat just last year, but hearing the more recent stuff and seeing his ideas change so much, this is really good , really detailed and with clear reasons behind every thought.

Again I would like to bring up, The Summer Paradox, Fanf 2's First Call mentions a "New Summer Job" but as you mentioned fnaf 2 takes place in november, so what if the grand re-opening means the locations was re-opened again That would explain the toys in Fnaf 4's Minigames and the "Afew short weeks" mentioned in the new paper, could mean total for both the opening and re-opening. This could explain how the springlock suits go from being named to being called "A yellow one" as 5 years have passed so memories have faded since the closing. Finally the withereds, I admit this makes them have had to belong to another location, possibly fredbears as well, possibly as cameo characters like chuck-e-cheese had, since we see all 4 withereds in the cartoon fredbear and friends.
I think this is the best timeline yet. You included ALL details and bits of lore together. Something not everyone does. Most UA-camrs ignore small bits here and there
2:59 just gonna state, the 2nd option is incapable, being the animatronic was in animatronic mode, the springlocks were already in the closed position, meaning that tears could not of set off the springlocks, as they were already in the set off state
I really like the aspect of the theory wherein its Michael who is, and always has been, the protagonist you play as, especially with FNaF 4 as it gives him a motive, and context behind his smirk as he resurrects after being used as a skin suit by Ennard.

Great timeline but personally I think in FNAF 4 you’re playing as the crying child and not Michael, it makes more sense to me because of the iv drip, pills, and flowers you can get as an Easter egg. I definitely agree that it’s a nightmare but not Michaels.
I get im likely wrong, however I believe that the spring locks killing CC is impossible, as they are already shut.
I think this is the best story to be made out of the events in the games while still being reasonable, I also think that Michael being the vengeful spirit would make William screaming for Michael in UCN a more dramatic event.

@@RyeToast For one thing Cassidy or Micheal being "The one you should not have killed" makes no sense when you consider that the books pinpoint Cassidy as female spirit within Bonnie while the Animatronics always call "The one you should not have killed" a He.
On top of this the FNAF 3 headstones actually point to Jeremy being the Spirit of Golden Freddy.
In the bad ending Golden Freddy is in between Chica and Bonnie while Jeremy is in between Susie and Cassidy.
Secondly Micheal was a walking corpse and knowing how William can pretty much still speak without a voice box I think it's safe to say the voice comes from a spirit mimicing the last voice of its host so it's unlikely it was Micheal going off of voice alone.
We have large amounts of evidence leading to Cassidy being Bonnie so I think this works out.
Thirdly I don't think there is any way Micheal could come to the conclusion that Baby was "Put back together" in regards to freeing her spirit.
Also the books always make Elizabeth a Servant of William and with FNAF Pizzeria Simulator enforcing this idea with her voiceline "I will make you proud daddy" Afton wanting that wouldn't make sense narratively.
I think its more likely micheal put Scrap Baby back together literally either to get closer to Williams location or to help HRY233's plan in freeing the spirits.
Also think about how messy and unstable Molten Freddy is form compared to Scrap Baby.
One looks like it has a stable frame due to being worked on by someone who has repeatedly worked with animatronics for decades(Micheal).
I also know the Freddy Files state that she added alot of parts from the run down Sister Location so its likely she had added those deadly adjustments.

I like the idea of Michael being The One You Should not Have Killed instead of Cassidy. There’s something far less cathartic about one random kid who happened to be put in Golden Freddy just being so anger to have willed themself into becoming The Vengeful Spirit. I like the Michael lens better.
Yeah I like it better too but I do still think Cassidy is the intended "one you should not have killed" and if you do take all the outside information into account its a pretty appealing.
1. Golden Freddy (Fredbear) was already possessed by Evan (FNAF Crying Child) so she he shouldn't have killed her because there wasn't room for her soul. She had to share.
2. Fredbear either had his endoskeleton removed or his springlocks engaged, which meant that Evan and Cassidy were no able to move around like the others. They were just trapped, slumped in a back room. A much more tortured existence.
3. It's clear from all 4 of the numbered games that Golden Freddy is very important, and not like the others at all. Thus I think it's very appealing for them to have a special significance at the end.
It's still not as appealing as Michael being the one you should not have killed, but I still like the implication that Cassidy was "exactly one too many victims"
The one flaw I see with this theory is that in UCN's double-voice Mediocre Melodies the vengeful spirit's voice sounds quite distinctively female, so it would require some additional hoops if it was to be Michael. Also "the one you should not have killed" makes things even more dubious than it already was.
Other than that, I like this theory too, Michael being dead set (heh) on taking down his old man at all cost would make him a pretty good candidate for the position of the vengeful spirit.

I have a hard time in these polls because I have some disabilities that make gaming difficult for me (seizures, arthritis in my hands etc.) And that's not including the fact that I have a crappy old laptop. So I really appreciate how much work and effort is put in by not just RyeToast, but everyone else who has played the games and caught so much I've missed by only seeing other people's runs. Also, since I watch others play, I get messed up in what's strictly in the books, what's in the games, what is a theory, A GAME THEORY, that I've taken for fact, etc. And that's not including all the content and info from Scott himself, whether it's an interview, or comments on social media to even the cut dialog and unused assets found while data mining. I always forget about the box lol. I'm not sure, I think the box is where Evan's body was placed, and that's his coffin. Because William promised to put him back together, he might not want to bury them. But it's honestly really hard to tell

@@lokimiguel2452 I mean, Afton and HRY are the only people we know that can create animatronics in the series, every other character is a kid or a security guard. Afton is questioned about "design choices" and HRY says in FnaF world I think that he created something horrible: Baby, plus he created LEFTE to contain the Puppet. HRY creates a whole fucking Pizzeria in FNaF 6 for us to work on, and Afton owns Afton Robotics and the rental company of Baby (plus Babys Circus World or whatever is called). HRY calls Afton a good old friend in his final speech, they have worked together before, and since they were the higher ups of the companies (proficiency with management, animatronic designs, construction of them, construction of buildings too) we can assume they were owners of establishments at most or original higher up staff at least.
Its obvious that the box originally contained the foxy mask, plush bear Walkie talkie, and a death certificate.
Congratulations, you found a narratively satisfying throughline for all of the games. I was solidly an adult when FNAF first dropped and have never stopped following the lore (at least through MatPat) and this is the first time I feel like there's a story that makes sense.
It is interesting to see Micheal McCorpse as not someone who wants to right the wrongs of a father but one who actively tries to hunt his father down after the wrong did to him.
Since it couldn't be remnant and agony being the other case, he is enraged.

Only major disagreement I have here is that "The One You Should Not Have Killed" is pretty unambiguously Golden Freddy in the games. The 50/20 clear cut scene, and the easter eggs around the Death Coin and Fredbear, pretty clearly point to that animatronic having significance. Additionally, the vengeful spirit face that pops up is clearly a child's. It'd be weird for that face to be a fully grown Michael Afton at this point.
Of course, with games only, the only conclusion that could be made is that Afton's youngest is possessing Golden Freddy, and with the Fredbear easter egg, the concept that Fredbear and Golden Freddy are one and the same.
It's not just as smooth as swapping the identity though. Since we see Golden Freddy's spirit freed through the Happiest Day minigame, we also have to switch order of events so that happiest day happens AFTER UCN for that reason.
I saw an explanaition (from 1 to ucn, no books) that Happiest Day doesn't take place during fnaf 3, but after Pizza Sim, World and possibly UCN, since the souls are "done" torturing William Afton and get to move on with the help of the puppet
I think you can maybe gauge that there are two spirits in Golden Freddy using only the games based on the FNAF 3 bad ending, because Golden Freddy has two eyes lit up instead of one like in the other animatronics, and you can probably make a guess that one of the missing children got stuffed in Golden Freddy along with Evan possessing Fredbear. It's weaker, though, and if it weren't for the books/logbook existing, I don't know if I'd believe it.

He died in Fredbear who turned into Golden Freddy and he is a young boy with a short haircut, like the TOYSHNK image. He’d also be mad at William for “killing” him albeit indirectly, especially since it put him down a path of evil.

What if the animatronic has 3 modes, Suit mode, animatronic mode, and idle mode. Suit mode, and animatronic mode are obvious. But idle mode could be like, the animatronics spring locks in there legs are on, but all other spring locks are off. Meaning that the tears turned the animatronic from idle mode, to animatronic mode.
Why. The springlocks in the mouth tho

Okay so for the first time any theory has given ANY explanation for "the one you should not have killed". Like matpat said, "oh you can kill all these kids but this one, THIS one, oh you shouldn't have killed this one" for no apparent reason.
I don't agree wholeheartedly with the theory that it's Micheal but for once we get the answer that he shouldn't have killed him because it's HIS OWN CHILD. And that's quite interesting in my opinion.

That's fair, I think the only evidence we have for dates would be 1983 for the crying child dying, 1987 for FNAF 2, 1992 for FNAF 1, 2022~ for FNAF 3, and 2023 for FNAF 6.

I really like the narrative cohesion of this timeline, something a lot of FNAF theorists forego in pursuit of “THE LOOOORE”. Mike being “the one you should not have killed” was awesome. Good stuff.
Nobody seems to understand that the "Springlocks" are to Hold Back Springs while in "Suit Mode", this means that while the Suit is on an Endoskeleton, the Springlocks are ALREADY OPEN, and thus can't have ANYTHING to do with Fredbear biting The Youngest Afton/Crying Child.
It's FAR more likely that in trying to be cheap on maintenance "Henry" used Hydraulics rather then Pneumatics to animate Fredbear, and this is important because it's a lot harder to implement a bleed-valve safety in Hydraulics (near impossible, they're a closed system, have to be) then Pneumatics (which are also noisier but can actually release pressure if they encounter "Unexpected Resistance" in a movement, but have to maintained more often).

I've recently rewatched GT's playlist of FNAF theories, and with 4 videos you managed to tell a more cohesive, simple, and honestly, more engaging story than MatPat did in 51 videos.
That isn't a fair comparison. This video series is specifically focusing on retroactively putting together the lore based on the games. Most of Matpat's videos came out as the games themselves were coming out (which would inevitably result in errors as future games clarified or retconned things), and quite a few of them were trying to predict things about upcoming games as well. Some of the videos were also just exploring ideas Mat and co. thought were cool ideas but not necessarily canon or true (which he has admitted). And some were just based on science or math in the FNAF world.
So of course alll 51 videos weren't going to create a coherent or cohesive story line lol. They were never trying to, and those vidoes don't have the same premise as Ryetoasts series. If you really wanted to make an accurate comparison you'd have to watch every single fnaf video Rye has ever made. And like Mat's, they'd probaly contain contradicitons and wouldn't result in a clean narrative. _Because they aren't trying to_ .

Huh. It's weird how coherent the games can be when you're not trying to crowbar the books into it.
This is by far my favorite interpretation of the storyline of the FnaF games. Other people's interpretations that I've seen feel a bit disjointed, bringing in extra characters that don't really need to be there, and leaving loose ends unanswered. But this one brings things together so well. It creates the idea that the entire FnaF series is about Michael's pursuit of his father and primarily takes place from Michael's POV, which I really like. And it makes the endings of Pizzaria Simulator and UCN all the more satisfying.

ive always wanted to see an actual theory based on things purely from ingame and i think this is the perfect example of it. often most theories are bloated bc they want to fit in every single detail from a book and cram it in but i honestly dont believe its needed to make a theory, and you proved it! amazing video man

Glad i found a timeline that FINALLY ignores the books in favour for the games. I always found it confusing that people would try to fit two clearly, canonically different universes to create a timeline.
I do think the books help with some of the more foggy parts of the timeline, but it doesn't help that Scott always says " well part of it is important". Yeah dude, which part though?
This is probably one of the best fnaf theory timelines. I like this version of the story. It actually SOUNDS like a story and not just elements of a giant universe that don't really connect. Great work bro, I watched your other vids on this and it was detailed as hell. The fact that you're only really one person gathering the info, editing and putting this together is smth to be proud of.

This also gives me an idea on how to construct my own sci-fi series. Like with a good villain with a reasonable motivation l.
One thing I can't agree with is that the DCI happened during the last party at FNAF 2. The Animatronics have 0 history of attacking children, and Phone Guy specifically mentions how they only act weird toward adults. I also doubt that "The Bite of 87" would be remembered if it was the same day as 5 other kids were killed by roaming animatronics. Considering the Bite is referenced as the reason for the FNAF 2 shutdown in FNAF 1, I imagine that the DCI happens when William returns as Spring Bonnie, and either Fazbear Entertainment covers up the murders (hence the subsequent investigation) or William hides the evidence himself (maybe shown by the bodies having been moved from where the bloodstains are). My only question then would be why William is shown as Purple Guy and not in the "yellow suit" (asides from Meta reasons like Springtrap wasn't invented yet by Scott), but then again you have the same problem with Foxy GoGoGo.

The one thing about this theory that I can’t reconcile is the fact that you set William taking apart the animatronics, being cornered by the spirits possessing them, and dying AFTER the timeframe of the backrooms being closed up.
The third game suggests that Springtrap (dead William Afton) was uncovered from one of the closed up backrooms; this construction would’ve taken place around the closing of the location in FNAF 2. If Henry (HNRY223) is in prison and a non-player by this point in the timeline, and the remainder of the franchise basically having fallen off the face of the earth, who would’ve walked off William after he died in the back room?
Nobody, as far as I can see. Which is why I still think that protagonist of the first game is Michael. It’s also why i think the disassembling of the animatronics and the death of William happen sooner than proposed in your timeline.
HOWEVER, I love the detail and effort you put into your timeline, even if I don’t wholly agree with it!
I’m just now considering that this might’ve come across as condescending, so I apologize for that. I really do think your work here is fabulous, and I don’t think that these (perceived) mistakes take away from the rest of your theorizing! Please keep doing what you do! ❤❤

Yay! I’ve been waiting for this video and I think your view on the timeline makes the most sense
1. I’m pretty sure there’s a line of dialogue in UCN where William shouts Henry’s name. Therefore, his name would be in the games.
2. I still don’t think there were two bites. I think that Phone Guy just got the year wrong in the first, and was generalizing (or ‘87 was just a REALLY packed year, which is almost impossible). Scott probably didn’t have everything planned that far ahead yet, and realized later that it was just easier to make the bite happen earlier. The dead child incident is the only thing that happened.
3. I don’t think that we have any evidence as to whether Elizabeth or (for the sake of simplicity) Evan is older.
4. Despite all of your evidence, I still believe that, at least for now, every game is canon, and there is only one timeline. I don’t think that anything in VR or SB controcticts the older games to the point where it can’t be explained. I don’t believe that the games made by “Scott” are the ones in real life, and I think that some of the animatronics that appear are caused by Glitchtrap messing with the code. To deter people from Glitchtrap and what really happened, Fazbear Entertainment started using the animatronics Glitchtrap put in the game as actual merchandise. Finally, the parts from The Blob looking like the older versions was caused by The Blob itself. It used the burned remains to craft the masks of those who’s agony is inside of it, and Burntrap looks so different from Scraptrap because Steel Wool didn’t want to use Scraptrap’s awful design.
Out of all the timeline theories this sure is one of them. Michael being the one you should not have killed is just... wrong. Golden freddy twitching at max points in UCN, Golden Freddy defying the death coin with a fredbear jumpscare, etc. Its very clearly something to do with golden freddy. Also, we literally see the puppet stuffing the suits. The other minigames are taken literally, why not that one?
Can rye toast's timeline be the timeline the movie uses ? It literally makes perfect sense and follows along with what the novel series does and doesn't call out very well. I love it

Crying child was not bitten due to his tears moistening the spring lock on fredbear.
Why?
Fredbear was already in animatronic mode. Thus the springlocks were already tripped and holding the Endo in place. So why did fredbear bite down on the kid?
Probably jaw movement as he was speaking/singing.

3:01 Crying Child's tears could not have caused the springlocks to activate because the springlocks were already activated. Fredbear was in stage mode, not suit mode.
And also, if the suit was in well, suit mode, somebody would have to be inside as well. Meaning that we would see them harmed just as Afton was.
This has been a blast over the past month or so. This is definitely my favorite version of the fnaf timeline.
While I don't agree with everything here this is definitely an interesting timeline. Love the idea that HRY is the one imprisoned for the missing children's incident. Explains his absence from before without any large leaps of logic. The placement for fnaf 1 is also really interesting, though I'm still uncertain of that one. I like the explanation it gives for the puppet being in fnaf 1, but seems like that is one of the less unsubstantiated claims. And while I don't fully buy into William being present and free during the events of sister location (due to him seemingly having no interaction with Michael, despite seemingly living in the same house or at least same town, leading to the animatronics deceiving him in the first place) I like having a slot for it in the timeline. Most timelines seem to just place it in a large span between charlies death and pizza sim, so having a solid place for it already makes me like it.
I am really, truly exhausted of the talk around this series, and this is the nicest, prettiest, cleanest package wrapped in a bow anybody has presented me with. Well done.

@@lokimiguel2452 Hmmm… While there is a connection if one were to use the books, he doesn’t actually use them but connects the dots because HRY mentions he was good friends with William in Pizza Simulator. Since the two were good friends and are both creators of animatronics, one could assume they were partners. Is it an assumption narrative? Yes. But he doesn’t use the books, he actually tries to not Henry’s name as much as possible throughout these videos but it is hard since it is basically confirmed.
@@lokimiguel2452 If those are the only two confirmed built animatronics. Then what about the others? One can’t assume that either of them built them because it is never expressed in the games. It is quite possible that one can say they worked together without using the knowledge of the books(people have literally gone off of less evidence or crumbs). Sure it might be an bias assumption but it is quite possible to think that. Like for example, why would Charlie be outside of the diner if HRY had no connection to the diner and William wasn’t there at the time? No parent just leaves their child especially if HRY created a security bot(helicopter parent much lol).
@@lokimiguel2452 I am just simply telling you that it is quite valid that someone could make such of an conclusion(especially if you didn’t read the books. If I didn’t care for the books, much like the rest of community. I would disregard the books entirely or what anyone says about it and what you said or what RyeToast are valid because it builds a narrative that connects the empty holes in between). I highly doubt that a helicopter parent like HRY would want their child going to a diner where a huge injury happened without any supervision.
My point is that you can’t just say he is using the books when one could simply assume they work together since they are in similar careers. There gets to a certain point in this franchise where one would have to assume certain things for it to be cohesive. It is not his fault he came to the same conclusion. Give the man some grace. This is freaking FNAF where they had to recon multiple pieces of lore. I am telling you if it wasn’t for big time FNAF theorists(MatPat, John and among others) using the books to solve the lore, people would have still came to same conclusion or possibly came to your conclusion. Typically people would think of the books as a multiverse within rather than using it to solve the lore within the games because it isn’t connected to actual storyline of the FNAF games.

this is way better than game theory. I learned about fnaf lore through matpat just last year, but hearing the more recent stuff and seeing his ideas change so much, this is really good , really detailed and with clear reasons behind every thought.
In my opinion, it's always made the most sense storywise for the Crying Child to die first.
Agreed, it's the only death of the entire series that doesn't need a prior reason to happen. All the other ones need something else to happen beforehand in my opinion

We grabbed the aprons from Michael's, and then my wife used her cricut to make the design and iron it to the apron.

SUPER helpful video for trying to make a fnaf timeline myself, as I don’t 100% agree with you on all points and want to do my own research. Most channels miss this step of making a timeline, where they explain it without all of the confusing tangents!! You’ve brought some really good points to the table here with this one, like the idea that Henry is in jail and the idea that Fnaf world is created by the puppet. Great work :)

Again I would like to bring up, The Summer Paradox, Fanf 2's First Call mentions a "New Summer Job" but as you mentioned fnaf 2 takes place in november, so what if the grand re-opening means the locations was re-opened again That would explain the toys in Fnaf 4's Minigames and the "Afew short weeks" mentioned in the new paper, could mean total for both the opening and re-opening. This could explain how the springlock suits go from being named to being called "A yellow one" as 5 years have passed so memories have faded since the closing. Finally the withereds, I admit this makes them have had to belong to another location, possibly fredbears as well, possibly as cameo characters like chuck-e-cheese had, since we see all 4 withereds in the cartoon fredbear and friends.
Excellent work. The one thing in this video that I found to be a stretch was the Toys killing the children in the DCI, that felt like a giant leap.
I think this is the best timeline yet. You included ALL details and bits of lore together. Something not everyone does. Most UA-camrs ignore small bits here and there

2:59 just gonna state, the 2nd option is incapable, being the animatronic was in animatronic mode, the springlocks were already in the closed position, meaning that tears could not of set off the springlocks, as they were already in the set off state
I really like the aspect of the theory wherein its Michael who is, and always has been, the protagonist you play as, especially with FNaF 4 as it gives him a motive, and context behind his smirk as he resurrects after being used as a skin suit by Ennard.
