I used to use Owner hooks and loved them, and then something changed and they are garbage. Lots of straitened or broken hooks and lost fish. Great day fishing there!
I also heard that from several people, but I can’t keep fish pinned and I catch one fish and the hook is straightened, I bent it back and I’ve had a few snap. Not a fan at all! But these mustad hooks have been great! 2x the catch ratio than the owner. You know what they say, “they don’t make them like they use to”
Man owner hooks are the only 1s I've ever snapped in half on fish after this happened a half a dozen times I quit using them all together....if you can find #6 diriki hooks in a turned over eye you won't ever be disappointed fish will literally hook themselves with them just getting harder to find now days.
Yeah absolutely, so the main line I use to blood run 15lb. To be honest I’m not super fond of it. It seems that when I have a fish on and I reel the stretch on the line pinches inself in the reel after the fight. With this happening I have to pull line out for it to flow smooth off the reel on my next drift. So I’m currently looking for a new main line. Leader I switched to 10lb berkley vanish and am 10x happier with this over Pline brand. I run micro barrel swivels between my main line and leader, usually a 4-6g float. Hook size I vary between a size 8-10. As far as curing my eggs. I use atlas mikes egg cure. It comes in shaker and I place the eggs in a zip lock bag, dump the powder in the bag and for the first hour I move the eggs around in the bag to mix in the cure. After a day or 2 I vacuum seal them and place into the freezer.

@@tightlinefinatic3980you should try sunline Fine float 10 or 12 pound it’s hi vis line some guys don’t like that but it’s the best line I’ve ever used and I’m fishing for 30 years now , new sub here from the north side of the lake
No not all these fish are hatchery, but here in the Erie area there are thousands of smolts stocked every year. But being stocked that small they are food for a lot of other fish. People say we don’t, but we do have natural reproduction here. But here in Erie as long at the steelhead is 15” you can keep it hatchery or not.
So it’s really funny you say that, I had edited in an arrow pointing to him with the caption “really???” But ended up taking it out 😂 With this rain and snow we got the creeks are up and the fish are moving! What a wonderful feeling!!!
I was thinking the same thing.....cmon man. Not only did he crowd you but he caught your line. There are plenty of places to fish and no reason he should be up on you like that. An awesome day btw...guess it would be hard to get mad after catching fish after fish.
@@1WilliamsBrian Yeah that’s usually how it goes here in Erie, someone sees you catch one and they are instantly walking over trying to make small talk so they can fish that spot. They act like it’s the only spot in the miles of stream where there’s fish. By like you said, it was an amazing day so it was whatever. He didn’t catch any from that hole anyway and I was picking them out right from under him lol
@@tightlinefinatic3980 maybe have some decency and let the fish swim to a deep pool that ain’t fishing don’t act like they were munching the spawn we both know they weren’t lmao
