This is very much later than when you posted this question. Be sure not to overfill your gas tank. Don't keep on filling up after the pump has shut off more than 2 times. The Evap system has a canister that traps gasses. But if you continually overfill the gas tank it can push gas into that canister and cause problems. I'm not saying you overfill your tank. But many of us try to squeeze that last 50 cents of fuel in just to round to the next dollar. So that can be a harmful habit to your Evap system.
Spent 1500 trying to get my p0171 code on my scion fixed by 3 diff mechanics. A year later my check engine light is still on😭 any help would be appreciated
Help my sons 2010 tc keeps saying o2 bank 2 and cat incomplete drove it and drove still nothing no codes what to he has til July 2021 to pass what should I do
Do you have any codes? Does the temp guage and fuel guages work? Have you driven on the freeway with 2/3 tank a gas at 55 mph for 10-15 minutes? Let's see if we can figure something out.
@@ScottiesHobbies no codes at all but I’m gonna do all that today but I’m gonna drive it he drives around town all weekend and drive like 40 miles to work 3 days outta the week but I will do the 10-15 minute drive then hope on the freeway and keep it at 55 mph for like 30 minutes get off wait 15 minutes then come back home and see what it do
my 06 just got a code showing the P0171 before I go to a shop back story I barely drive that much anymore so my car can sit 4-5 days with out being started in the heat (I live in CA) can that cause an issue for that code to go off? If so what should I look and check for? everything I look up says lean bank 1 on the websites or videos. I don't have anyone to help me so if its something simple I can check and replace myself I would rather do that.
The most common cause to this code would be a vacuum leak somewhere on the engine. Have you had any recent work done to it? Oil service? Maybe an air filter? Do you hear any vacuum leaks when your engine is running? Turn the engine on and pop the hood, Listen for vacuum or sucking. Or do you hear any exhaust leaks before the oxygen sensor? Let me know. This is something as little as a cracked vacuum hose and as bas as a cracked manifold. Let see if we can figure something out.
This has helped me a lot! Thank you.

@@kramnull8962 it was a small hole on a hose. I don't over fill the gas tank, even more now with this gas prices😅.
@@ponketon Well I'm guilty, simply because filling up at 7/8 of a tank is much cheaper. 🤣🤣🤣
@@ponketonwhich hose was damaged?

2:02 to the top left side, what is the almost box looking thing called? I’m looking for one but not sure what it’s called
Are you talking about the black square box? That is connected to the intake boot or intake below?

Got p0171 lean 02 sensor and it also sounds like something is hissing or leaking air
I got a mass flow sensor and it still plucks but when I run it for a while it sounds like it don’t want to go but then it will stop the more I run it

Ok.... lean code.. any exhaust leaks? Any lack of performance? Have you checked to see if your mass air meter is dirty?
