- Ghost EV is a home built, electric race car being built near wellington, New Zealand by Seb Steel.
This is the second motor controller combination and it did a sweet little skid during testing.

Nice! I’d love to see some more details on this build.
Cheers! There's a fairly comprehensive build blog on the Ghost EV facebook page. facebook.com/ghost.ev.hillclimb.prototype/

Question. I am also using a twin me1616 setup and want to do similar burnouts. Do you think a car that weighs 1300lb with 50/50 weight distribution and 26" rear tires could do a burnout?
Maybe not. 26 inch is a huge tyre compared to mine. Also, in this vid the car is only 1 wheel drive, and the suspension was set wrong so there was very little weight on that wheel.
Its amazing, what controller did u used for that me1616 motor. Can u name hv components u used please
Hi. Sevcon Gen 4 Size 6 controller. Just using 6 12v automotive batteries for initial testing in this video. Will have a custom Lipo battery pack when finished.
@@ghostevtv1548 iam making 300kg gross weight ev formula car with me1616 motor, so i want to go with kelly controller instead of sevcon, is it fine?
Hello good! I have a query about the sevcon gen 4 controller, it is currently connected to the ME1616 motor, the motor rotates correctly but at a certain point it stops and from the DVT software it indicates the error, current control and overvoltage sometimes both errors sometimes one only. Could you tell me what configuration parameters I can modify to solve it? Thanks, I also wanted to ask if you know how to get the SCWIZ software for the auto-parameterization of the motor. thank you
Is it one or two me1616 installed in the car at this stage? And how much does it weight? And what was the name of the out runners you tried earlier?
Hi. This clip is just one ME1616 driving the right rear wheel, but I do have two of them and they will both be installed in the next week or so. The rolling chassis is 260kg. The ME1616 drive units (motor, drive frame, sprockets, chain and axle) are 35kg each. The test battery is just 7 lead acid batteries (150kg) but the race battery will be a sub 50kg lithium Ion pack. So in this video the total weight is 445kg. The outrunners were the 154120 45kW motors from Reacher Technology.
Update?
Thanks for your interest! Soon... Two motors installed now, may be able to test drive again this weekend.
