    Stumbled on this video… great job taking this on as a challenge - and doing it on a trainer, wowee… that’s bad ass… 🍻

  • @oliverlennard
    @oliverlennard Місяць тому +25

    Much easier to ride outside.
    Time stands still on the trainer.
    Sometimes intervals and riding in the week are more time efficient on the trainer.
    But 5 hours outside on the weekend each day, flies by compared to the trainer. More comfortable and more interesting.

      No no, it seems dude lives in Singapore. Outside means HOT. Really really hot. 38C with 95% humidity HOT. It won't be much different than indoor. If you have strong AC then indoor will be even more comfy... Ever wonder why all of those runnings/dancings were all at night? I guess it's due to the heat... Though the best time of day should be the morning before sunrise, but for young dudes living in the city nobody can get up that early... 😂

    • @oliverlennard
      @oliverlennard Місяць тому

      @@xuchenglin6256 well he’s got no ac on. So yes maybe if he had ac that might be true. Some airflow would be better than nothing. But also if you have experience riding a trainer. You would know it’s super uncomfortable to sit on the saddle. Whereas outside is completely comfortable.

    It's not that weird that you would get so fatigued when you're doing such a low cadence. Usually, you want to hit 80-90 rpm on average, unless you're doing low cadence intervals specifically. Low cadence is very hard on the muscles.

    Way to go bro......remember to recovery sufficiently enough. ie the main pillar is Zzzz......hope you can do at least 8hrs preferably. Nutrition shd be easy enough for ya. I also believe 10-15 mins ice baths (legs) has good effort to benefit ratio, not as much as sleep and nutrition of coz. Your legs are still noticeably sore the next day even though you are a pretty seasoned athlete just means recovery not enough, so maybe can try the ice bath? Hope you can win the competition. Wah lao, those runs/swim not counted as part of the 25hrs, that's scary amount of volume, hope no injury man..

Eventually, the coins need to be cashed into your bank. In order for those coins to be cashed in, which equals to higher FTP and fitness, you need proper recover. Dude you should really really careful about overtraining. 25 hr is no small deal. You are on the fast track to it. In April there's a time I ride like crazy. Each day I feel stronger... There are a lot of 3hr rides with 240W NP and stuff similar like that. It feels like a breakthrough and I feel I'm on the straight way to 350W 20 minute power (which is a goal for me) if I just continue pushing... Then everything started to fade... High power disappeared, HR just won't go up. Recovery just stopped, I usually can recover overnight from a 10K run so I can run everyday, but now the tissue seems stop repairing themselves. Then comes the mental meltdown... I got angry at everything, feel every E-scooters and cars are attempting to kill me. I asked my partner, "do you feel everyone on the street are driving like crazy?" She said "What? No!". That's when I realized that I might in some very deep trouble. It ends up with a very bad high speed crash partly due to the fatigue and slow-mind slow reaction from it, partly due to bad luck and a mechanical failure. Now everything's zero-ed and I'm kind of starting over.😭 Even zone 2 rides if you done it right done it everyday it will take a huge toll. It might be easy riding for just 1day but if you see it as a multi day long term project it won't be anywhere near "easy" like people said. BTW it seems you have all the time in the world, why not fly somewhere cool (literally) with some real mountains to do some real riding? Anyway nice experience! Just don't over do it!

      @xuchenglin6256 Місяць тому

      @@aaroiseverything When you are in that mindset, it askew things. You are kind of like in the process to see "how much deep I can go" just like your attempt on this one. You most likely feel you are OK but just a little bit fatigue which should be completely normal but from an outsider's eyes you are near that edge. That's why it's the first thing comes to my mind. Now you are in that over-reaching stage where you can recover given some rest. However, if you continue pushing 2 or 3 consecutive weeks -- controversially actually you can, you'll break down. You'll in that similar over-reaching state but no matter what you do, you just don't recover. Even if you stop training at all. That's over-training. When you realized it it will be too late. It's hard to relate unless you have that experience yourself. I hate to say but dude you belong to the mountains. With your physique it's a waste in a flat city.
