I looked up this video because I was hoping for some instruction about how to get the blasted top off the refill and here I find two other people with the same problem. Actually I really thought this would be a good product because I have two rescue cats that have a lot of stress issues. Somehow I managed to struggle the first cap off and get the thing to work but after a month, when it was time to replace the refill, I had the same trouble getting the cap off. Unfortunately, I had already ordered and received four more refills and I honestly cannot get this cap off or any of the other four (now useless) bottles I appear to be stuck with. My bad for ordering so many.
Hi Brenda, We are sorry that you have struggled to open the lid, it is designed along the same lines as medicine bottles and, as such, can be hard to open. Some people find it is easier to open the lid by putting the bottle onto a firm surface first then and wrapping a cloth around the lid, before pushing down hard, whilst twisting the lid.
@@BeapharUK I have tried ALL those things. Luckily I was able to send all four bottles back to Medpets (where I am a regular customer) and get a refund. FIX THE DESIGN. There is NO logical reason to have that much security on a bottle of cat pheromones.
@beapharuk is it normal to be able to see the pheromone when the plug in is working? Mine is producing a visible fume, that almost looks like smoke. I’ve unplugged it as I want to check it’s not the plug overheating/smoking.
Thank you for your message. The liquid containing the pheromones is diffused by a ceramic plate integrated into the electric diffuser and this is heated to a high temperature. It is completely normal for the diffuser to be warm/hot to the touch and you may see some vapours coming from the top of it.

Very difficult to unscrew!!
I can't unscrew mine. So can't use it. Disappointing. Cat and me very stressed. Was hoping for some peace and relief. Now just more hassle.
