Damm....... I'm not a big fan of rap but if you can win the Pulitzer with your rap lyrics....... you are a walking Legend. Only death separates Kendrick from absolute legendary status.

I feel like that album was great, but it wasn't as accessible as DAMN. It was very meaningful but I really had to MAKE myself listen to that whole album. Damn I was into immediately. And every song delivered in every sense of the word. It was catchy, it was meaningful, and the structure and positioning of the songs being flipped, with the final song in the story being at the end was genius. Its literally the only album I've ever actively listened to all the song in order on purpose whether its backwards like it's meant to be listened to, or the way it was released.
TPAB or DAMN as long as it's Kendrick that won it, that is the main point. DAMN was awarded not just for representation of African American life which was heavily portrayed in song's like Fear, xxx, duckworth, element but also for vernacular ingenuity and literally creativity

I like what Loni had to say but she threw me off when she said that rap was changing and evolving; what artist like Kendrick and J Cole say is not anything new because you can go all the way back to artists like Public Enemy and they were making conscious rap back in the early 90s. So I get what Loni was saying but I think her wording was off.

"To Pimp A Butterfly" was the real actual winner of the Pulitzer prize 🏆 obviously , they just don't know Kendricks discography so they accidentally named the wrong album title by accident at the actual ceremony because DAMN. just happened to be his newest album & they just happened to say the wrong title unfortunately 💯 Everyone knows it was his second major studio album "To Pimp A Butterfly 🦋" to win the prize cuz it's mainly Jazz music & cuz of all the extremely deep rooted meanings that ends up explaining the entire albums title thru out every single track 💯
They didn't accidentally name the wrong album. They specifically chose "DAMN." since "To Pimp a Butterfly" and "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" were too old to be nominated, let alone win! 🤓

The pulitzer is one of the top awards for literary achievement and i hate that they now give it to unworthy people when there is so many people who deserve it more.
