I feel like that album was great, but it wasn't as accessible as DAMN. It was very meaningful but I really had to MAKE myself listen to that whole album. Damn I was into immediately. And every song delivered in every sense of the word. It was catchy, it was meaningful, and the structure and positioning of the songs being flipped, with the final song in the story being at the end was genius. Its literally the only album I've ever actively listened to all the song in order on purpose whether its backwards like it's meant to be listened to, or the way it was released.
TPAB or DAMN as long as it's Kendrick that won it, that is the main point. DAMN was awarded not just for representation of African American life which was heavily portrayed in song's like Fear, xxx, duckworth, element but also for vernacular ingenuity and literally creativity
Tpab goated. But you don't understand DAMN. If you downplay it's significance. Took me 5ish years to finally understand how brilliantly put together it is. Hopefully you've also come around
I like what Loni had to say but she threw me off when she said that rap was changing and evolving; what artist like Kendrick and J Cole say is not anything new because you can go all the way back to artists like Public Enemy and they were making conscious rap back in the early 90s. So I get what Loni was saying but I think her wording was off.
Africans, we need to start a petition. Kendrick has not stepped foot in the not basic part of Africa. South Africa is in Africa but everyone visits South Africa and ignores the rest of us...
"To Pimp A Butterfly" was the real actual winner of the Pulitzer prize 🏆 obviously , they just don't know Kendricks discography so they accidentally named the wrong album title by accident at the actual ceremony because DAMN. just happened to be his newest album & they just happened to say the wrong title unfortunately 💯 Everyone knows it was his second major studio album "To Pimp A Butterfly 🦋" to win the prize cuz it's mainly Jazz music & cuz of all the extremely deep rooted meanings that ends up explaining the entire albums title thru out every single track 💯
They didn't accidentally name the wrong album. They specifically chose "DAMN." since "To Pimp a Butterfly" and "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" were too old to be nominated, let alone win! 🤓
TPAB should have gotten it . It thing was something transcendent . Not politically biased due to nativity but , it was the truth . It was a great piece of art .
Just Chriss Do you know the meaning of it? Because I have listened to that album so mang times. And that first track. It is capturing. How he tells the story. And i soo wonder what it means when he says; you lost, your life * gunshot* who gets shot?
when u compare a Pulitzer price winning poet and musician to a stripper that drugged men and stole from them and then blew up by stealing a kodack black beat
The pulitzer is one of the top awards for literary achievement and i hate that they now give it to unworthy people when there is so many people who deserve it more.
Skye A. I guess you can not take any opinion that doea not agree with yours anyway have a nice life and try to be more open to other peoples opinions 😁

Did Loni put Kendrick in the same sentence with Cardi??
If rather we uitilize J. Cole for that
They’re both rappers that keep it real. That’s why she mentioned Cardi.
@@captainamerica6545 pump and Lil xan keep it real. Who cares? Cardi isnt as productive TBH...

TPAB should have gotten it . It thing was something transcendent . Not politically biased due to nativity but , it was the truth . It was a great piece of art .

You can’t compare Kendrick to cardi wtf !?!
Y’all sleeping on j.cole though.
Agreed!
All of his albums by Platinum. He's not slept on.
Why do I feel like these women acted like they’re taking to kindergarteners?
Tamara had nothing to say😭😤
kyla P do you want her to talk over Loni 🙄 in addition I don’t think she’s knows a lot about the subject so why should she talk about it
Meme Cakes I think that was her point!
all she can talk about is relationship, marriage and kids gahaha

He does not get shot at the beginning of the album smh lol
Just Chriss Do you know the meaning of it? Because I have listened to that album so mang times. And that first track. It is capturing. How he tells the story. And i soo wonder what it means when he says; you lost, your life * gunshot* who gets shot?

It would be cool if you guys had UA-camr Tati Westbrook on your show giving makeup tips or recommending good makeup on a budget
The pulitzer is one of the top awards for literary achievement and i hate that they now give it to unworthy people when there is so many people who deserve it more.
Mitchell stone It was well-deserving. And clearly you're not articulate enough to even form an opinion on the matter. Stay quiet.
Skye A. I guess you can not take any opinion that doea not agree with yours anyway have a nice life and try to be more open to other peoples opinions 😁
Mitchell stone did you listen to the album carefully ?
sonrisa Verdean Damn wasn’t that great an album
K Rino? K Rino isn't that great from what I've heard.
I miss Tamar on this show.
