Amazing job by Lopez (good to see Movistar succeed after losing Valverde) Very brave by Bernal, both today and yesterday, but it looks like this Vuelta is in the bag for Roglic.
i am still convinced they ride this way because Valverde is out. He wouldnt allow Lopez to attack or would have (weak) attacked Roglic later. Not like Mas who did the right thing and only marked Roglic. Valverde was right there in the last years for all the blunders Movistar made. he definitley is part (imo a big part) of the reason they rode how they rode.
Perfect timing by Lopez - when Kuss started to pace, I thought - ok, Roglić doesn't want to counter any more attacks at the moment. Lopez probably smelled it too and off he went.
I think everyone knew meintjes was overall a better climber/gc rider than Eiking.
