Even the train windows look like modern windows. I had travelled with my dad to many places in India and the windows were heavy lead or wooden windows. We always travelled 1st class too. My dad was an officer in the Great Indian Peninsula Railway
Hello, I'm from India I saw first episode but now I'm not able to see all episode. Because Its showing Channel 4 is available in UK Only. Could you give access for this series. I loved this series.
This is not how the summers were spent in the hills. They have not shown Shimla at all. Sorry, this series stands nowhere in comparison to The Jewel in the Crown.
@@D34dfgRu45Okay, since you beseech it, I'll preach it. The location filming of Indian Summers in Malaysia is all wrong. Simla is not a tropical place. Simla gets a lot of snow in winter, and the architecture and houses do not have the tropical look of "Indian Summers". At Simla, the dominant tree is the Deodar, a cold-climate conifer - not the deciduous trees of "Summers". The native costume in Simla is distinctive and mainly woolen, designed for cold weather. You seldom see local women in saris, nor men in dhotis, nor turbans - unless they are tourists. I find the misplaced location, costumes, vegetation, and buildings in "Indian Summers" so distracting that I find it difficult to watch. Since "Indian Summers" is behind a paywall, I have only watched Episode 1 of Series 1. However, It appears to me that the script of "Indian Summers" follows the usual TV series format and style, while "Jewel in the Crown" was based on a novel with an epic style. And a Big Plus for "Jewel" because so much of it was shot in the actual locations.
J’aimerais beaucoup voir cette série mais les sous titres automatiques sont impossibles à lire, malheureusement… ça va beaucoup trop vite et c’est très désagréable
How stereotypical is this series ...It's mostly cool in the Himalayan regions even during the summer because of the snow peaks, yet they show its hot and I hear people talking in Tamil which is the southern most state and the are showing the northern region.Almost all the Indians are shown as dark or brown whereas there are fair skinned Indians too..😂😂Such a innacurate show..
@@patriciarossman8653 It's actually a matter of film producers making a bad choice for location. The mismatch between Simla and tropical Malaysia is like filming "Autumn in New York" in Honolulu.

We all can't be Paul Scott. You are the ideal person to correct this horrid situation.

Most of the Indians in Himachal (including Simla) are fair skinned. And they wear woolen skirts, jackets, and trousers - not saris and dhotis.
That Tamil cracks me up too. I thought I was in Bangalore, lol!
@@Unit8200-rl8ev I agree, the attack locale looks suspiciously like the same hills of Simla, only across the street in the vacant lot.
55:20 “Lucky girl! Wash hands before dinner.” I guess she smelled that lovely tart on his hands 😁
